CAV of Gang Green Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Well it's a poor holiday at best. Before you know it, I'll get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, then I'm back to school that soon. And the break homework, don't get me started. They say "have an awesome break!", and then they stuff you with homework to the point you can't do ANYTHING during the break. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I don't remember getting much homework before holiday breaks. At least you get time off. Now, with my job, I don't get holidays off, unless I request them off, and take vacation time. (My job is 24/7, so if a holiday falls in your scheduled days, you have to work it, unless you take it off.) Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Yeah, but did you ever get homework for SUMMER VACATION? Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Yeah I did. Only freshman year of HS. (Well, technically, before I went to HS.) Because I was in Honors English, we had a reading list, which included 3-4 books, a screen play, and such. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I've been having summer homework since I graduated from elementary. It was required every summer for my middle school. And this year it's to see if I can peform to the standards of the school. For 8th grade, I had to do a 100 question Math packet, 3 book reports, and a 2 page essay on what I want to learn from 8th grade Social Studies. It's hard for me to say "World War 1 and World War 2" for 2 pages without repeating myself. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 It's not fun at all, but I guess homework, even over a vacation, is part of the school life. But since you're going to HS, you don't have much longer left of school life, until college. Which is usually pretty different. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Good morning! I got here early today. My HS had two weeks off for Christmas. At the university, you get about a month. I don't think that applies to me anymore though. I usually had summer readings for my English classes. I think that's about it. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I remember having small projects over breaks. Like over Spring Break in 3rd grade, we had to do a diorama for a book we had read in class. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hello everone. ^^ How are you all doing today? :) Projects over breaks? We DID get homework but never projects over breaks last year. I'm hoping it's the same way this year. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Hey Ryan. I'm doing alright. How was school today? It wasn't often that they did that. But it did happen. And of course, I waited until the last minute. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Good to hear. ^^ It was okay. -shrug- Who dosen't? xD Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I'm sure there's some people that don't. I don't know of any. Nothing like racing at the last minute, to end up with a quality project. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I usually wait ill the last minute on EVERYTHING. xD But... Why do I actually WANT to do my homework right now? Dx Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I used to be that way. But now, waiting until the last minute for things stresses me out. I don't handle stress well anymore, so I try to avoid it, if I can. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I get stressed so easily. xD K, as far as my parents know my homework is done. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I do too. I'm easily stressed, and it's more difficult for me to un-stress. You've got it. I'll vouch for it. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Same here. I usually just deal with it though. I have like 3 projects due by the end of the week and I don't plan on having them done until the night before the due date. xD OHYEAH! I found out today that my 1st and 8th hour teacher is awesome. She let us play music on the computers while in the computer lab today. Too bad Youtube is blocked on all the computers though, I would've liked to have a playlist going instead of one song. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I'm glad your teacher is awesome. That always helps make school better. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Yup. And I have her twice a day. I'm so lucky. ^^ And were gonna be in the computer lab again tomorrow. I'm wondering what will happen if I log onto TDN from school and tempted to try it. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 It depends on the school's guidelines. When I was in school and went to computer lab, we were never on the internet. We were using programs and such. Quote
Revenge Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Last year when my art class got changed to tech, I spent most my time goofing off on the internet. :P The year was almost over, so I didn't have many projects assigned to me. Quote
Aidensmomma Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Yay! I got Space Faerie & Evil CFoconut avatars today!! :) Quote
-Ryan Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Woo. Gratz on the avvies. ^^ The only time we're allowed on the internet is for research, but it looks like I won't be in too much trouble if caught chatting on TDN. :O Quote
Unstream Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Well we aren't supposed to use email for noneducational purposes either, but most times teachers aren't paying enough attention to stop you from goofing off. It's how I spent most of my time in my Graphics class :P Quote
Theresa2 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 thats good you get to use the net at school due to the teacther not being able to pay attention I sarted my school break today hopefully i can sleep in tomorrow Zzzzz Quote
