Well it's a poor holiday at best. Before you know it, I'll get Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off, then I'm back to school that soon.

And the break homework, don't get me started. They say "have an awesome break!", and then they stuff you with homework to the point you can't do ANYTHING during the break.

I don't remember getting much homework before holiday breaks.

At least you get time off. Now, with my job, I don't get holidays off, unless I request them off, and take vacation time. (My job is 24/7, so if a holiday falls in your scheduled days, you have to work it, unless you take it off.)

Yeah I did. Only freshman year of HS. (Well, technically, before I went to HS.) Because I was in Honors English, we had a reading list, which included 3-4 books, a screen play, and such.

I've been having summer homework since I graduated from elementary. It was required every summer for my middle school. And this year it's to see if I can peform to the standards of the school.

For 8th grade, I had to do a 100 question Math packet, 3 book reports, and a 2 page essay on what I want to learn from 8th grade Social Studies. It's hard for me to say "World War 1 and World War 2" for 2 pages without repeating myself.

It's not fun at all, but I guess homework, even over a vacation, is part of the school life. But since you're going to HS, you don't have much longer left of school life, until college. Which is usually pretty different.

Good morning! I got here early today.

My HS had two weeks off for Christmas. At the university, you get about a month. I don't think that applies to me anymore though.

I usually had summer readings for my English classes. I think that's about it.

I remember having small projects over breaks. Like over Spring Break in 3rd grade, we had to do a diorama for a book we had read in class.

Hello everone. ^^

How are you all doing today? :)

Projects over breaks? We DID get homework but never projects over breaks last year. I'm hoping it's the same way this year.

Hey Ryan. I'm doing alright. How was school today?

It wasn't often that they did that. But it did happen. And of course, I waited until the last minute.

Posted

I'm sure there's some people that don't. I don't know of any. Nothing like racing at the last minute, to end up with a quality project.

Posted

I usually wait ill the last minute on EVERYTHING. xD

But... Why do I actually WANT to do my homework right now? Dx

Posted

I used to be that way. But now, waiting until the last minute for things stresses me out. I don't handle stress well anymore, so I try to avoid it, if I can.

Posted

I do too. I'm easily stressed, and it's more difficult for me to un-stress.

You've got it. I'll vouch for it.

Same here.

I usually just deal with it though. I have like 3 projects due by the end of the week and I don't plan on having them done until the night before the due date. xD

OHYEAH! I found out today that my 1st and 8th hour teacher is awesome. She let us play music on the computers while in the computer lab today. Too bad Youtube is blocked on all the computers though, I would've liked to have a playlist going instead of one song. xD

Posted

Yup. And I have her twice a day. I'm so lucky. ^^

And were gonna be in the computer lab again tomorrow. I'm wondering what will happen if I log onto TDN from school and tempted to try it. xD

Posted

It depends on the school's guidelines. When I was in school and went to computer lab, we were never on the internet. We were using programs and such.

Last year when my art class got changed to tech, I spent most my time goofing off on the internet. :P The year was almost over, so I didn't have many projects assigned to me.

Posted

Woo. Gratz on the avvies. ^^

The only time we're allowed on the internet is for research, but it looks like I won't be in too much trouble if caught chatting on TDN. :O

Posted

Well we aren't supposed to use email for noneducational purposes either, but most times teachers aren't paying enough attention to stop you from goofing off. It's how I spent most of my time in my Graphics class :P
