Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Obviously not. Livvy, Liz, Whembly, and I are. Us ol' quilting girls, will visit where ever we want. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I didn't read all the dwarf planet convo when I posted. You're welcome to come with CAV, but you don't have to. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 You're welcome to come with CAV, but you don't have to. But you have to quilt right along with us. That's the trip requirements. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 CAV, you don't want to cross the asteroid belt? It's not that. But it's impossible to land on Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. They are gas planets, and there's no solid ground. We'd go right through the planet. And due to the large size of the planets, the gravity is increased 100 fold. It would crush you like a toothpick. We can land on the moons though. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 We can sit on the moons and watch the planets. I think we can figure out how to go right through them too. We're a smart bunch. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 It's called A JOKE. You don't get A JOKE? ^This. Stop trying to be so serious. (Where have I heard that line before?) Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 No. Like I said, the gravity is strong. If we get too close, then the gravity will drag us to the planet, and then crush us. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Okay. New travel requirement: Check your scientific knowledge at the door. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I agree wholeheartedly with Spritzie! Otherwise, we'd have to address how we're getting there, and the time as well, and that's not the point. Plus, I'm working on becoming a scientist, so I have a say in these things. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 ^This. Stop trying to be so serious. (Where have I heard that line before?) I said that. And you're acting serious, because it seems as though you can't take a joke. Okay. New travel requirement: Check your scientific knowledge at the door. Are you saying I'm stupid? Quote
Tyler. Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 the universe exploded? well I guess my room survived then Quote
livvy Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Scientific knowledge is all well and good, but there's no need to keep it for this. We'll figure out a way to quilt on Saturn and Jupiter and Uranus. As Spritzie said, we're clever quiltin' girls. Quote
Wembly Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Hehe, because actually visiting any planet other than ours is so physically possible... Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 It never exploded. You only had a dream. It was all just a dream. Livvy the quilt would go right through the planet. It ain't gonna work. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 CAV, all I was saying was, we all know that we were teasing with our traveling the planets, and we were having fun with it. Then you started telling us we couldn't visit certain ones. (For logical reasons, but that's not the point) It took some of the fun away. And I wasn't saying you were stupid. I was saying, ignore what you know about science and the planets. Enjoy the idea of visiting planets that you scientifically couldn't. Quote
livvy Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 "Check" in this case doesn't mean "make sure you're right." It means "leave, abandon, stop." She was just telling you to ignore scientific realities and embrace impossibilities. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Good thinking Tyler. A magic quilt is even better. Thank you Livvy. I hadn't thought about my usage of the word "check" and that it might not come across right. That is what I meant. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 ^ Not to be confused with a magic carpet. And we scientifically couldn't visit any of the planets, if you want to be technical. What about Venus? We'd die there as well. Quote

And I thought when you said that you were saying to check your answers before going on the journey, and I figured you were saying that I was wrong. Yes we'd die due to the heat of Venus. AWW DANG I DID IT AGAIN!! Quote
Tyler. Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Magic Quilts pwn Magic Carpets in just about every way possible Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Sorry, but I'm trying to be realistic. And I thought when you said that you were saying to check your answers before going on the journey, and I figured you were saying that I was wrong. Yes we'd die due to the heat of Venus. AWW DANG I DID IT AGAIN!! No no. I love astronomy as well. I know you're right. We were trying to have fun, and NOT be realistic. That was the point of this. Remember your welcome rule, not to be too serious? That's what we were doing. Quote
IrishLiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Yes we'd die due to the heat of Venus. AWW DANG I DID IT AGAIN!! haha, I brought that up. We're just messing around, you know, like when little kids play games. Except we're big little kids. It's good to exercise the imagination sometimes, I think. I like astronomy and sciency-things in general too. Sometimes it's nice not to consider it though. I'm around a lot of people that take things too seriously, so this is fun for me. EDIT: And, no, I'm not saying that you're too serious and not fun. I didn't mean to imply that. I'm talking about people at school/work. Quote

Remember your welcome rule, not to be too serious? That's what we were doing. See, NOW I understand. This is our first stop: Quote
Spritzie Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I've always been big into the space stuff. (Big technical term, right there) I used to have screen names like Solar Storm, and such. (I also LOVE meteorology.) I also had sns like Tornadic, Cyclonicblast. Quote
