Altador - Round Equal: Altador started out the season with a sweep against Moltara. At the same time, what does that really say? After that they only won against Kiko Lake in Yooyuball, and drew with Faerieland, taking a side game sweep. Other than that, they got 5 draws and 4 wins in Slushie Slinger, 2 draws and 2 wins in Make Some Noise, and 1 draw and 1 win in Shootout Showdown. Overall, Altador did about as well as expected, grabbing a few extra side game wins along the way, ending the 1st round in 16th.

Brightvale - Round Up: It was a tough decision, but in reality, Brightvale did better than most expected, sweeping Darigan of all teams on the first day, and besting Tyrannia overall in Slushie Slinger (ironically, the only loss they really had in that game was to them). The only other upset they achieved was a draw in Slushie Slinger against Haunted Woods. With 7 wins in Yooyuball and 11 in MSN and SoSD, Brightvale started strong and ended weak, taking 11th place in the 1st round.

Darigan Citadel - Round Up: Despite Darigan being swept on the first day by Brightvale, they began to take off the day after. Slowly improving in each sport throughout the round, losing to Virtupets even later made them fired up, allowing them to beat the Lost Desert and Kreludor in Yooyuball. The big upset was their loss to Maraqua on Day 16, falling in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Ending the 1st round in 2nd Place, Darigan has done much better then expected.

Faerieland - Round Equal: Faerieland did just as well as expected, still somewhat improving. Beating Terror Mountain and Moltara in Yooyuball, while drawing against Tyrannia, means that in the 1st round, they got as may points in Yooyuball as they did in AC IV. They surpassed their records last year in every side game (those totalled to 6 Draws and 5 Wins). Their biggest upsets were in Slushie Slinger, drawing against strong teams such as Darigan, Maraqua, Tyrannia, and even beating the Krawk Island Pirates. They ended the 1st round in 17th place.

Haunted Woods - Round Equal: Many people believe that the Haunted Woods was in a slump at the beginning of the cup, but this was not the case, they just had a lot of tough teams. Their two biggest upsets were beating Meridell and Shenkuu overall while drawing in Yooyuball against Roo Island and Virtupets. Finishing the 2nd half of the first round with a series of wins, Haunted Woods ended in 10th.

Kiko Lake - Round Equal: Kiko Lake has done just as everyone predicted. Not doing very well in any game, but still pulling off wins and losses here and there. They've ended the round in 15th.

Kreludor - Round Down: Sadly, Kreludor really did not live up to expectations this year, having 6 losses in Yooyuball this year against Maraqua, Lost Desert, Meridell, Shenkuu, Darigan, and even Virtupets. They still prevailed in side games, keeping them high up in the standings, ending the 1st round in 3rd.

Krawk Island - Round Down: Krawk Island, expected to stay in the top 6, did very poorly compared to expectations. Losing to all top 5 teams, and Roo Island, Krawk Island also got 2 draws against Mystery Island and Shenkuu. Krawk Island did poorly in Slushie Slinger, and was only mediocre in Make Some Noise. Despite this they still did exceptionally well in Shootout Showdown, with only 3 losses and a draw. Krawk Island ended the 1st round in 8th, at the bottom of tier 2.

Lost Desert - Round Equal: The Lost Desert did fantastically this round. With only 3 losses and a draw in Yooyuball, the Marauders fizzled out a bit at the end, but did great overall. Doing reasonably well in the side games, they still failed a bit when it came to Shootout Showdown, even losing to Kiko Lake. The Lost Desert finished 1st in round 1.

Maraqua - Round Equal: As expected, Maraqua had a bit of a slow start. After a few days, Maraqua began to pick up. Near the end, the team even beat Krawk Island, Darigan Citadel, and Kreludor in Yooyuball. Maraqua did not get many wins in Slushie Slinger, or losses, but mostly draws. Maraqua's performance was fairly average at Make Some Noise and very good at Shootout Showdown. They ended the 1st round in 5th.

Meridell - Round Up: Meridell was probably the biggest surprise this year. Beating Lost Desert, Kreludor, and Maraqua in Yooyuball, they have a 12-3-1 record, losing only to Darigan. While they were just mediocre in side games, this helped them do very well in the standings. Meridell ended round 1 in 4th.

Moltara - Round Down: Moltara, even with being a new team, was expected to do better. With a total of 5 draws and 5 wins, Moltara has the worst record of any team. Moltara ended the round in last, at 18th.

Mystery Island - Round Down: Mystery Island, expected to do well this cup, has actually done quite poorly. Doing terribly in the side games, they only got a total of 12 wins. Like last year, Mystery Island seems to be mediocre all round, except when facing great teams in Yooyuball (they beat Lost Desert). Mystery Island ended the 1st round in 12th.

Roo Island - Round Up: Roo Island did amazingly despite everyone's predictions. Still losing to major teams, they ended with a 8-6-2 YYB record. Roo Island is for sure a force to watch not only in Yooyuball, but in Shootout Showdown too. Despite this, they are like Maraqua in Slushie Slinger with lots of draws, but still okay in Make Some Noise. They ended the 1st round in 7th.

Shenkuu - Round Down: The Ninjas were anything less than bleak going in to this tournament, but their overconfidence led them to some disappointing results. Although they have been picking up with some impressive Yooyuball/side game wins near the end of the first round, will it be enough to project them to the 1st tier come June 30th? They will have to improve their gameplay and go in with a fresh mentality in order to prove that their place is on the podium. In the end, Shenkuu was in 9th this round.

Terror Mountain - Round Equal: Terror Mountain became this year's Virtupets in SoSD. Winning every match so far, they've also done pretty well in the rest of the side games, ending the round in 13th.

Tyrannia - Round Down: Tyrannia, a fantastic side game team, but terrible at Yooyuball. They have won almost every side game so far, losing only 6 and drawing 6 too. Tyrannia ended in 14th.

Virtupets - Round Up: Virtupets has done very well so far. This year, Virtupets has upped their game at Yooyuball! They have beaten teams such as Darigan, and Kreludor, and drew with Maraqua. This year, they are only down in their side games, losing a total of 22 games. Virtupets ended in 6th.

Man, this is really shameful. I was kinda hoping that we'd do better than 18th... :crying:

Meh, it's only the first round. Things will be better the second time around.

(Apology for being rude over msn regarding this post, I think I'm just tired)

I've fixed your post so it shows correctly on the forums.

Beside, it's a good report of what had been happening so far. I'd have prefered to read it once all the first round results are out because the ranking might change.

Shenkuu - Round Down: Shenkuu possibly was the most overestimated team. Loosing to every team above it overall, Shenkuu has not been particularly strong this year. It's quite possible they could do fantastic in the 2nd half like Maraqua last year, but that only got Maraqua to 7th, so how far will that get Shenkuu? In the end, Shenkuu was in 9th this round.

I thought Maraqua came in 5th last year? :worried:

I wouldn't know, I switch teams every year, so please correct me if I am wrong!

Brightvale started strong and ended week, with 12th place in the 1st round.

Slishie Slinger

Tsk tsk. Mistakes. I saw more but desided to point out the worst. I thought you were better than that Co.

Other than that nice status report.

They came in 7th for the round robin, but finnished 5th overall because of the finals. Just like how Kredulor was in 1st in the round robin last year, but ended in 4th.

And you said both MI AND BV ended in 12th. ;)

That's another mistake.

Well, we did okay this round, I suppose - we did come in fifth in ACIV - but we'll have to do better if we're aiming for the first tier... *must play more*

Pretty embarrassing for last tournament's champion -- bottom of tier 2. :(

Guess we gotta work harder...

Hi there everyone,

I'd like to apologise for all the errors that were present in this post. Our usual editor (*indicates self*) was missing when this report was written, and didn't return to check on things until just now. Thank you to all those who pointed out the mistakes in the report, the inaccuracies should now be fixed.

Sorry!

the shenkuu roundup seemed completely biased. And I think all can agree, even if you're not an SK member

While I agree that, considering Shenkuu's usual record, the round-up was rather harsh, 'biased' is a very subjective term. The writer of the report hasn't stated any technical inaccuracies in that section which I can make out, and as an editor it's not my job to mask the opinions of our reporters, so I decided to leave it as it was.

Really, the results in the Altador Cup are very open to interpretation.

Soo......... when exactly do we get the results for June 11th?

TNT is on a weekend break right now, so it's likely that they'll be out on Monday at the latest. Either that or some kind of explanation from TNT.

I thought there was a mob with torches and pitchforks at their door - that makes it slightly difficult to forget! I'm getting quite attached to my pitchfork now!

And Tyrannia goes again to our 11th position. I was afraid we ended up in the last group, but, no, Tyrannia goes like always!

(we should won a prize for our consistency in our position on the standings :laughingsmiley: )
