Sobkis
I posted on the Altador Cup Neoboard a few minutes ago and had someone tell me, "What do you know? Your account is only 4 weeks old!" Now, I just came back from college and decided to make a new neopets account. An older one, about 2 years, is twenty5seconds. My oldest account got deleted for inactivity, which I made when I was 11 or 12 (I remember, because I had to lie about my age and say I was 13..) Is it just me, or does anyone else get upset when they're on a new account and don't get respected? There's no fighting back either- If you say, "Hey! I've been here for 8 years!" they call you a liar. :(
Denisa
well i don't think you need to bother with that kind of people...
lazycrazykitten
Seriously, some people are so rude to newbies. Unless the newbie was rude to you first (which I have seen) then it is uncalled for. I actually don't bother with neoboards, a lot of people just post random info that doesn't help anybody and there are too many rude people who think they are all high and mighty!! hrtbrk
Agreed with lazycrazykitten. I view the boards but don't post just for that reason.
Xepha
Don't waste your time telling them how long you've been on the site and such. Seriously, it's just plenty stupid to judge someone by their account age. A lot of people decide to take a break and then create a new account when they come back because they don't like their previous username or other reasons... it just happens. Also, the Altador Cup is sort of madness. Not really a place where to hang out unless you stick to the chat board of the team you support (and still, it could be disappointing). Mr.X
This is a problem with our society. We judge both on the internet and real life
Lia Seeya
Urck, those people annoy me. But nothing else to be done other than shrug it off. Oh, and the Avatar Chat may be more chaotic than that, best to stay away.
Coco
I see them on the boards but I never encounter them head on. Still, pretty annoying when they do that. :/
Izzy ♥
Wow, I've never seen somone that obvious about it :O Not that they could try it with me anyway xD
falling_stars143
It's pretty much human nature to judge others. It's quite unfortunate, really. I try to avoid the neoboards as well: First off, it's hard for me to keep up with their conversations, and second some of them are just rude. So rather than get tangled into that mess, I just stay away.
Kyra Trebon
When I created my current account back in 2006, I went back in the neoboards (I had a previous account made in 2003-2004). The first time I tried to join a thread, I was ordered to leave because I was a 'newbie'. The only reason I created a new account was because my old got iced (I was young and stupid enough to think I didn't need to read the rules). Basically, many people are just pains. Thankfully TDNF is one of the few places that I belong where 'most' people don't care about how old your account says you are. It's a nice change. Ruto
The Jelly World boards are the worst. If people haven't seen you there before, they'll demand that you shut up and leave. This is worse if you use a newbie account. I'd stay away from those boards at all costs. The people there are just really ignorant.
Shadaw the Rampage
not to judge but id wadger these are young kids who think its ok to talk however they like to anyone. ive been on neopets for well over 6 years now, im not very good at there chats but the ONLY time ive ever actually gone on there forums was to request assistance with a quest sense none of my friends were on at the time. mostly because i once tryed the boards and people were less then friendly. i say kids but i also know some adults can be rather rude too. i guess what im trying to say is there rude and i dislike dealing with them. thats why im pretty much a neohermit who doesnt talk to many people on the sites in the forums unless its absolutely nessisary for me to do so. which kinda takes all the fun out of it to begin with. Ruto
They probably only talk that way because of the anonymity of the internet. There's no way all of those people would talk like that in front of their mothers. :P
Deepti M.
I tend to stay on the AC chat. I don't think the Neoboards are bad, unless you're looking to start a fight. If you happen to get in one, quietly leave. If that person was being seriously mean to you, just block them and report them if you'd like. I have foudn that the people in AC chat are very kind...the lenders anyway. ;) If they like you, you can get lend expensive items like SuAP for free. Yes, I've seen it happen before, although it's very rare. *AC boards are short for the Avatar Chat boards
