  1. Today is a thursday guys - at least according to my time (which is the same as NST). doesnt the NT get released every friday?

happy new year by the way, i just got home :)

  2. I hope you keep in mind that not every impatient, terminally-competitive person is rude and mean and immoral - I'm impatient and competitive to a fault, but I always say my please's and thank-you's, even while shoving my way to the exit or to the checkout counter :P

  3. I think you misread what I wrote. I have no beef with people who quit halfway through a game - I've done it before myself and it's usually not even on purpose, so I understand and it's no biggie. I have beef with players who quit right before I win just to spite me - especially when both of us have already accumulated more than 3000np each. It's super frustrating to know that this *insert epithet here* waited 20 minutes just so he/she could quit on me right before I step on the winning block. Talk about spite.

  4. So I play key quest quite a bit. quitters don't normally bother me, because I've been guilty of quitting a few turns into the game myself sometimes, and I understand there are myriad reasons for people to quit (sudden emergency, you dont feel like playing anymore, you feel super frustrated, etc), and I can buy that players do get disconnected from games, but I can't understand how players can play the game through to the VERY LAST TURN only to quit right before my token steps onto the finishing gate Are you telling me my luck is so bad 3 games in a row my opponent's internet crashes right before i win? TNT needs to get their act together and fix this abuse. I call it abuse because that's exactly what it is. Players are taking advantage of the fact that if the game ends prematurely through the fault of one of the players, no money is awarded to ALL players

I propose a new system: if a game ends prematurely, the last person to leave/disconnect is awarded whatever amount of neopoints that he/she has accumulated thus far in the game. This system would not be prone to abuse because there's no reason why someone would conspire with the other players to end a game prematurely just to collect neopoints when he/she could simply play it through to the end and gain more neopoints/items anyways. This way, quitters' pathetic behaviour's effects on the other players would also be minimized, because at least the player who didnt quit//get disconnected, although they lose out on a potential gold key, will still get the neopoints they earned. This is by no means a perfect solution, but I believe this solution is hard to abuse by cheaters, and pretty fair for all concerned.

Thoughts? more rants against quitters? all are welcome.

  5. One question. What do you mean by Neopets Junior? If you're seeing the link to the real Neopets Junior in the upper left of the pages, then your account's age is under 9. So you'll either have to make a new account or wait four more years. If you're just referring to the COPPA limitations, then wait a couple days. The script that corrects this is sometimes behind on weekends.

clarify to me please: if you're under 9 they link you to a separate game called neopets junior? O.o

  6. Unless Your on a Faerie Quest.. He never wants to help out then, eh? XD

I just don't feel like we should become his personal SW checkers :P

Back on topic, though, @Unstream: did you get all those jellies from the giant jelly or did you buy most of them?

  7. I want a puzzle plot as opposed to a war plot :( I always feel left out in wars because battledome really isn't my thing on neopets - I don't find it fun, it's time-consuming, expensive, etc.

Puzzle plots, on the other hand, are pretty accessible to everyone, even if some people feel like they're not as good at puzzles as other players.

  8. find quick games that you're good at, play a lot of key quest, restock, and invest, either in items or in bargain stocks.

I make at least 30k a day just from playing half an hour of games. There are 3 criteria for picking games you should play to make money: speed, tediousness, and skill.

Games that you're good at (i.e. you can make 1000np/game from it) and which are quick might be a bad game to play because it's tedious. An example of this for me is techo says - it's relatively fast and easy, but i find it tedious and so I don't play it much.

Games that yield 1000np/game and which might be fun can be a bad game to play because it takes too long. I usually don't bother with games if it takes more than 2 minutes per game. An example of this is faerie cloud racers and sophie's stew. they both yield a lot of money, and they;re not too tedious, but the fact that it takes 5 minutes per game to make 1000np makes them inefficient.

Games that are fun (not tedious), quick, but doesn't yield a lot of money are bad for obvious reasons.

With all that said, spend a week or two just experimenting different games and finding your moneymaking games. If you can find even 5 games that fit the above criteria, then you're already guaranteed 15k a day (1k/game x 3games/day x 5) in at most 30 mins/day (2mins/game x 3games/day x 5), which is pretty good.

  9. weapons are hard for restocking beginners =/ 99% of weapons that you find in neopia central are worth only a fraction of what you pay.

books turn a nice profit for really low risk (I don't know many books that sell for higher than SW).

Things that are most in demand are one-use items, like books or stamps (you can't remove a stamp from your album). Food is a little trickier just because most players rely on omelettes or other low-cost options to feed their pets, but I hear food is an alright way to turn a profit (people want food for faerie quests, esophagor, fetch, etc).

training items are also good to sell but there's no real way to restock dubloons or codestones =/

  10. I also recommend playing Plushie Tycoon. That game can easily get you 100k a month, and without much effort once you get it started. You'll want to read a guide, which are really really helpful. A good one can be found here:

    http://www.neopets.com/~MapleHood

Just follow the guide and you should be able to rack up neopoints like crazy. I also found it really addicting :P

Thanks! I've been looking around for a simple PT guide for a while now. I'll give the game a try in january :P

  11. Are you referring to market price or the Est.Value (which is arbitrarily given by TNT)?

If you're talking about market price: baby is around 600k at the moment I believe, and pirate is around 7mill.
