not having the loading issue (yet anyway) but the beta page is also giving me the greyed-out items problem for things that aren't equipped on my other pets. would like to know why that is as well, it doesn't seem to be layering conflicts as many of these are just backgrounds with no foregrounds on them.

where's the option for this on the sidebar? i logged in to the website in mobile mode again but it looks like they removed the option to switch back and they still haven't added quick stock to the inventory page

edit: i was able to find a link to the quick stock page by googling it, looks like it's still there in classic mode even though the inventory is not and doesn't link to it. very annoying, i wish they would make sure their pages are functional before forcing us to use that version of them.

@SimplyTragic If you go to your AdBlock Plus settings, click on "Advanced", scroll down until you see "My Filter Lists", copy the above code and paste it in the text box that says "Search or add filter(s) (e.g. /ads/track/*).", and you should be good to go. I had to install Adblock Plus and replicate this for myself.

@Angeló Thanks for the alternative route for those not getting cdn.playwire.com appearing on the website list.

I apologize for all the ruckus and confusion from earlier, and I'm taking back the more complex fix I posted Monday and redirecting everyone here to this post for the quicker fix.

thank you for all the help so far. it doesn't appear that this helps in any of my adblockers when i test them individually. i also tried the solution in this thread (http://www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=160785279) of going through the logger and nothing seems to change either, although both playwire rows were already in green.

closed out and refreshed the browser, cleared the cache as well just in case. no dice u_u

oops! i forgot that closing the browser resets the flash settings. this works actually thank you!

I'll post a step-by-step process on how I did it for those having the grey screen error on Neopets games caused by uBlock Origin.

3. Go to any game page on Neopets where you're receiving a grey screen, click on the uBlock Origin icon on your browser's extension bar, keep clicking "More" until you see a list of websites appear on the left of the uBlock Origin mini window.
4. While you have the website list on the left open, press the Ctrl key twice to make the Allow option available.
5. While you have the Allow option enabled, scroll down through the list of websites until you find "cdn.playwire.com", and turn the second box (the one with a minus symbol in it) green by clicking on the left side of it. Doing so will allow requests from cdn.playwire.com to go through on Neopets. You can also make the first box green to allow cdn.playwire.com requests on all sites if that's what you want.
6. IMPORTANT!: Don't forget to click on the lock icon that's left of the power symbol of the uBlock Origin window to make your changes permanent (they'll be temporary if you don't and you have do the process again). After you made your changes permanent, refresh the page.
7. After you did all that, you should be play Flash games et al on Neopets again.

If that doesn't resolve things, allow/greenlight cookies and requests from cdn.playwire.com on any other extensions you have (Privacy Badger for example) that can cause issues throughout select sites. Happy gaming!

hey i just ran into this problem recently and followed these instructions. it currently looks like the attached image in my ublock settings but i'm still getting the grey box problem. i have adblock and adblockplus disabled for the moment until i can troubleshoot how to whitelist playwire in those correctly so they aren't the ones blocking it. is there something else in the ublock settings i need to do to fix this?

i just found out they added the word "poop" to their bad words list since the time i made my item gallery. why!!! just another one that makes no sense. there are literally items made of poop.

i was having trouble getting the site to load but it seems like this might be isolated to the front page for now. if anyone else is struggling to get the site to load try other pages.

seems like the mobile layout only displays on certain pages at the moment.

i agree! i didnt screencap it but it said something about a reward for completion that i didn't get in my inventory. so i bet something or other triggered that notification to pop up earlier than intended.

today i got crystal plushies. i think i might try to get the book items if i can

i managed to get the charming spring background and the mage's satchel which im so glad about!

is this a short event only running two "days" though? when i went to the page today it said it has already ended and congratulated me for finding all the neggs! but i was still able to go to the second location and claim a negg. very weird lol

wow, i had no idea that it stole the reward, glad i asked about this. the first quest i got was a ffq so idk if i'll be so lucky again but it doesnt hurt to send a ticket.

edit: it didn't even give me today's quest until i refreshed the page again, and it was formatted weirdly with the text spilling out of the box. perhaps they should check the code for this event...

so i bought a 25k item for the grey faerie and gave it to her...the page became a blank page and said "you have completed a quest for ."

i don't have a screencap cause i closed it but has that happened to anyone else?

the rainbow fountain looks like it usually does so i have to assume that the reward was some kind of stat boost. i dont pay attention to my pet's stats though so im not sure. and usually there is another quest right afterwards from the other faerie(dont remember her name, i will call her the nc faerie) and that wasn't there on the page when i refreshed it either. it looks as it would if i had already rejected her quest.

does this weirdness have something to do with daylight savings time maybe, like the trudy's surprise bug that happens every year?

i just encountered this a minute ago so it still seems to be happening.

edit: after this happened, i logged out of my account and when i tried to log back in, i was unable to. i had to reset my password to get back in. this is miiighty suspicious and makes me feel like the nc mall page has become compromised.

so im on the dreaded vaeolus part and ive been following the guide here and here, having acquired the medicine, pie, and bandages. however im running into a bug where the correct option for that particular image doesnt show up! so for example the vaeolus will have its tongue sticking up, and there is no option to feed it, or the bandage option doesnt appear when its paw is raised. i went back to those respective pages and made sure i had grabbed those items, and i cleared my cache, but i still have this problem.

nvm it seems to be working now

ah so thats what the problem is...i did store the item in my sdb. its very strange that it changed names and became a non-book, like do people using other languages not get to use the item at all? thats so weird. hopefully they do finish remaking the website.

in the lyras event prize shop there is a book called "Desert Explorer Kit"...my aisha decided it was too boring to read so i changed the language to see if that would change the title of the item and trick her into reading it. well, in most languages, it was becoming "Decrepit Desert Map," except there was also no option in the dropdown to have a pet read it at all! i thought it strange because all my other items changed languages, and that one stayed in english til...simplified chinese, traditional chinese, japanese, and korean...where it disappeared from the inventory entirely. switching it to english brings it back.

interestingly, when i tried the other languages again to see "Decrepit Desert Map" it now also disappears from the inventory. oh this was just from the languages getting stuck.

did neopets catch on to the language trick and prevent it by changing an item? or is this just more weirdness courtesy of lyra's slow-motion trainwreck? anybody else confirm this happening?

Also, you may want to check Chrome is up-to-date.  I have a feeling you already know how to check for Chrome updates, but just case, for anyone else who may read this and is not sure, click in the three vertical dots, in the top corner of Chrome, and select "Help", then "About Google Chrome". When you do that, Chrome should check for updates automatically, and if there is one, should download/install it right away. Once completed, click "Relaunch", to reopen Chrome. See if that helps.

If you use any type of antivirus or firewall, other that the default Windows ones, it is possible either could be blocking the game. Might want to check and see if you notice anything from those programs. A topic on the "Site Events" Neoboard mentions Bitdefender blocks the game from loading and another mentioned their avtivirus program was blocking it, too.

ahh, that was my problem. turns out bitdefender was blocking it and i needed to make an exception. although i dont like how i have to expose my computer to some malware just to play a game...neopets is not a very secure site.

edit: there is indeed a very real trojan in the game, luckily my bitdefender deletes it from my computer before it can do anything but everyone be careful. like the person on the neoboards link said, it is called nemucod.

Have you tried clearing Chrome's cache?

Are you using any extensions/plugins, especially ones that may block java script or tracking, like "Ghostry" or "NoTrack"?

Are you browsing in "incognito" mode, or, if not, have you tried browsing in "incognito" mode?

Is Chrome set to block pop-ups? If so, have you tried adding www.neopets.com, refreshing the page, and then see if it works?

Those are usual suspects...

OH lol i thought it was flash...woops!

i cleared the cache, disabled extensions(dont have the ones you mention but i did disable adblock, adblock+, ublock and tampermonkey), double checked my settings(pop ups and javascript are indeed already enabled), and tried incognito mode.

unfortunately, got the same results.

im in chrome, which i know hates flash, but up til now ive been able to get the games and pages to load just fine. well except for kiko pop, but i just have to click "allow" in the site settings on the upper left every day and it works after the page reloads. with lyras escape...nothing. maybe it has something to do with the fact that neopets outsourced this one according to the forums here?

i did also notice that when i opened neopets today, it claimed that flash was disabled in a yellow bar over the top, and redirected me to a(n outdated) page on how to enable it, which it hasnt done before.

whats going on? genuinely dont know how i will progress in this plot now. i dont plan to log in to neopets on other browsers nor do i want to download them for this.

included a screencap of what it looks like. opening the popup in a new tab gives me the same result
