I'm trying to decide what pet / colour combination to ask for! I'm looking to turn Fenrir2016 into a wolf-like pet but can't decide what suits him best.
I'm currently thinking of asking for a spotted Lupe - I know it's not exactly wolf-like but I think it looks a bit like a wild dog and is kind cute.

What do you think is the pet / colour combo that looks most wolf-like?

I think Halloween Lupe is the "werelupe" the most werewolfy.  I can also see mutant lupe working for fenrir.  Pirate is a little more grey, but without the depression of the grey color.  If you decide to paint later, skunk could be a cheaper option for black/white/grey.  Tyrannian could also be good.  
That spotted does look awesome though.  That's really nice coloring.

Wow all these pets look amazing! I really like the mutant Poogle and Maraquan Grarrl. I also like the look of the Darigan Eyrie. It's a very hard decision and I will look at all these in detail.
As this is a side account I probably won't be battling the pet unless I transfer to my main. I really just want a fierce looking pet to match the account username 'neobattlegallery'

I am with @jellysundae. I have been saving up for my poogle transmogrification potion for my battle pet for a bit now. I found one potion for only 4.5 mil, but I was about 200,000 off, and it was already off the trading post 2 hours later. I got sad and went on an album spending 'spree.'

I really like the idea of a battle beast (GRRR! lol) My Kacheek looks somewhat like a disgruntled librarian in the BD, more of a polite cough than GRRR, lol. xD
That mutant acara's a pretty spectacular animal, isn't it!
The mutant eyrie looks pretty intimidating too, a number of the mutant options are of the knee-quake inducing variety.

The poogle being the most OMG! one in my opinion.

If you are looking specifically for battling, I'd look at the battlepedia (http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/) because there are some species that have really good species specific weapons that are way cheaper than the general equivalent.  I'm sure there's an article about them somewhere on there.  I know I've seen some mentions.

Yep! "Weltrude's Toy Chest". Funny thing is, Petpet Park closed in 2014, but Weltrude's daily lasted until 21 June 2016 - almost two years after Petpet Park closed. Although I never really got anything great from that daily, I sure do miss it.

I've finally got ALL the pet / petpet avatars! Also I now have BGC and MSPP  :)

UPDATE:  I DID IT!!! I used all 7 spirit potions but I managed to beat Jahbal and Mastermind. Now on to Insane mode...

You will definitely beat the final bosses on evil mode. I have beaten about 6 months ago with only 3. And I didn't even use all of them.  7 should be fine. As long as you keep an eye on your health at all times, you should be golden. 
 
But wow, you have been trying the past few weeks to get the last few potions? You definitely deserve a trophy just for that

I'm actually only on Evil mode at the moment. I will be starting Insane mode as soon as I finish it. I have the max of all other potions so I'm hoping that's enough for the 2 final bosses. Hopefully I won't have the same problem on Insane lol :)
