The tape is really cheap, I got one for 8000 np.

I went for getting the individual prizes, since I think more people will opt to complete together and get the background, so there will be more of it available to buy. Currently the book is going for ~400k

Eleven hour wait to get the last three pieces! (:
 
Ahhh if the 80-hour timer you guys mentioned really counts down to the end of the event, then I actually have a chance of finishing this yaaay~ :icecream:
 
I read in the battlepedia that the weapon awarded as a prize here is pretty weak? So that means the only useful prize is either the book or the wallpaper. Now I'm leaning towards getting the background because it's probably worth more when sold hmmm what to do :sleeping_03anim:

I finished it all and now there is a timer ...... 80 hours or something like that ticking down ... so it continues !
 
I think there is something bigger and more plottish coming

I've completed all pieces, but haven't collected prizes yet.
 
It's currently showing me a timer "RESEARCH COMPLETE IN" 82:24:00 (at this moment), meaning there will still be three full days before the event is over - enough time to get all your pieces, I think! :)

I am having the same problem as you. I only get one quest per day due to my internet limit so I'll have only completed 7 by the 31st. D; It better not be over by then!

Luckily for me I only needed to buy one thing today, and it cost me a grand total of 12np. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll able to complete this. When I'm on I can be around for a while, but usually I don't make it back again the same day. Oh well. In 11 hours or so I'll be able to get my 4th piece. We'll see how it goes, but I won't hold my breath. I sure hope the pieces don't repeat otherwise I'll not even have a chance.
 
Despite knowing I probably won't be able to finish it, it pleased me to be able to help a few people yesterday when the prices for items were ridiculously high. Knowing I might have helped others move closer to completing their pieces makes up for maybe not being able to complete mine in time.

Yeah that's right, my 6th is just under four hours away. I was lucky enough to be on TDN when the event announcement was posted. I'm thinking there may be a glitch of some sort for people further than that, since I've been on basically every 12 hours since then, and some people are getting a quest straight after the last without a timer :S

I bet TNT are receiving tons of complaints about this evil event...and a lot of people are quitting. I don't want to lose every single NP I have been earning in the past year on this when it could go to paint brushes, training, the most elite Battledome weapons, and rare wearables.
 
Maybe now is a good time to sell the Zombie PB I got from the Spooky Food contest last fall.....
 
If it ends on the 31st I won't be able to complete the event. I can only do 1 quest a day because I only have internet between 7am and 10pm daily, and my wait times are ALWAYS 11 hours long. :(

I seem to be stuck at only 3 pieces with 11 hours to go before the next one. I guess it's because I'm working and can't be on every 12 hours. *wahh* I'm really far behind. TNT didn't think this event through very well. :sad01_anim: All they've done is force prices up on junk and make people angry. What are they thinking?

Always make sure to read the little blurb before the bets on this page, though, because sometimes Hugo bets on days that he knows mostly likely won't be profitable (where there are zero positive arenas). Because your account is young --a little over a year --you won't be able to make as much of a profit. If you have any side accounts that are older and you plan to continue doing food club after trying it for a while, I would suggest making that your new main account. You can make bigger bets for every day you have been playing on neopets, meaning a bigger profit.

For some of the items the prices have shot up, while others are still low. Does anyone think it's worth buying some of the cheaper things now in case they get inflated, or does everyone think the prices will stay similar to what they are now? I got burnt the first day needing to pay 25k for something, but luckily everything else I've either had or could find at a cheap price.
 
I really hope this will be worth it for everyone. I'm more intrigued than anything, but I feel bad for people that either don't keep junk items so have to buy it all or that don't have enough neopoints to pay these ridiculous prices.

I really want in on this but I need two Cobrall Roots which are now going at 30,000 for the cheapest ones (and I can only find a handful total). I have the np, but that's not the point. I can't imagine this will be the only expensive item I'll need, looking at the other posts, or I might just do it.

I think Neopets tried to make this accessible to everyone by using abundant, cheap items and now people are ruining it by getting greedy.

I am so utterly displeased with this. I figured there would be inflation but really. Just no. I have friends who were super excited about trying to play through this event and now they can't at all. I can afford this, but do I really want to? I was not saving nps to buy these things >:C *grumps*

I don't get it! Bottle of Shenkuu Ink that was 1 NP not so long ago, now - 8k! I could understand inflation but this is outragious :(

A lot of people saying this is a way to clean up Neopia...but all these items you get when completing dailies...so...not really cleaning up...
 
I started hours after the event began and ran into inflated items :/
 
For those experiencing the same, I suggest NOT to buy anything and keep refreshing the SW. My inflated item was 20k when I started, but after i bought it only 35k were available. Quickly went up to 40k, then back down to the low 30k. By then I bought it...but after I completed the first quest I kept refreshing to see the prices. Someone randomly sold theirs at 10k and an hour later someone had it for 1 NP! So... just keep trying you might get lucky

You can always bet the day before, and then collect the results after the competition is done. I usually put my bets almost a day before they will reward me the neopoints.

Mostly through food club and stock market (although, I always forget to sell my stocks --but it's really awesome when I take a hiatus and one or two will have shot up to great proportions). I also do the 15 prizes from the battledome.
 
I used to do keyquest and habitarium, but they became too demanding on our internet connection and on my time.

Habitarium, and Food Club. Games and dailies don't do much for me anymore so doing those two have netted me a lot of NPs over the last 2 weeks alone.

I understand the need of cleaning up junk items from the game but hopefully they broaden the pool items (HELLO BLUE GRUNDO PLUSHIES!?!?! 90% of the Battledome items, anyone?!?!) needed as time goes on because this is too much (although I'm sure they were aware this would happen lol)
 
It really defeats the purpose of removing them from the server if no one is able to buy them.
 
All of these items are handed out from dailies so play EVERYTHING for the next week. Even Key Quest.

This is going to become prohibitively expensive, I think. Surely TNT wouldn't put an avatar at stake on something like this? Might be worth writing an Editorial question to clarify if there are prizes beyond what we're building. If it's going to cost me 300K for my second request, and if things are going to keep inflating for 6 more days/8 more requests, it could potentially cost millions. I'd like to know if it's at all worth it.

Excellent idea! Hopefully there will be enough variety of items that everyone will be able to complete their quests with minimal cost *crosses fingers*. All the ones I just got were under 10np

Maybe someone could create a thread here where people cold post the items that they need and anyone online in TDNF who has it in their SDB or is willing to spend the NP for the requested item can gift it to them. That way we would all help each other and also save on NP.

Totally agreed! I've been buying up and discarding junk like mad trying to get the rubbish avatar, and now it's over 1000 NP for a "Pottery Shard Dagger"! I've probably discarded hundreds of those! :(
