  1. Now I have to worry about Kai standing overtop of me while I'm in this vulnerable position. He seems to enjoy tackling me and charging me. He just gets so excited! Last night I went outside because the kids told me he was chewing on something, as usual. Trying to get what he's got and he runs around wanting me to chase him. I don't give him that satisfaction and instead pick up one of his toys and throw it at him. It glances off his head, and goes skipping across the yard. I didn't intent to throw it directly at him, but he moved and missed the catch. I go to pick it up and bring it to a different part of the yard. Kai comes charging up behind me and rams right into me with his paws on my shoulders as he lunged. I get pushed forward a bit and stayed on my feet. His front paws slipped down my arms and on my left I now have a scrape from his dew claw, a.k.a. his thumb nail. Hurt like a bugger too! I got mad at him and the whole time I think he thought it was a game.
  2. Lately I've watched The Rise of Skywalker and I'm not all impressed by this movie. It felt way too rushed and didn't have the traditional star wars energy to it. But then again I'm not a fan of the new trilogy anyways. We watched the Season 7 of The Clone Wars and so many feelings at the end! How they tied everything together was splendid! Last night I watched Maleficient: Mistress of Evil and I was expecting something more dark then what it was. It was good but not fantastic. My youngest has been watching Moana constantly! Like every waking moment Moana has to be on. She's also been watching Bluey with her sisters and that one's alright for a couple episodes then it just gets too boring.
  3. Try w3schools or just google it and you should come up with something.
  4. Incoming Table Wiz! Seriously Tables are my specialty! If you can be specific in what you'd like I can code one up for you and it won't take very long. Alternatively you can use w3schools as a resource. You can use Duma's way or try mine or a combination of the two. <th> is your table headers. Increase or decrease these accordingly. THis will also instruct your table on how many cells you want horizontally. <td> is your table cell that you can increase or decrease for your needs. Use the margin: auto to center your table and give it a width if you like. Normally I use px, but sometimes a percentage is easier. <style> table {margin: auto !important; width: 95% !important;} </style> <table> <tr> <th>HEADER</th> <th>HEADER</th> <th>HEADER</th> </tr> <tr> <td>CONTENT</td> <td>CONTENT</td> <td>CONTENT</td> </tr> </table>
  5. I heard this too and am kind of disappointed. But who knows the changes I may actually learn to like.
  6. My oldest's Kindergarten teacher and even her two teachers from this year at school before we pulled her out seemed to show favoritism towards other kids over my daughter's needs. When we had a meeting in October about my daughter, they all pretty much ganged up on me and I felt like I had somehow failed my child because I took her out of public school. From the teachers in this school there are only two I really like. One is A's KG teacher and the other is the Grade 3 homeroom, math and LA teacher. She's also the vice principal of the school. If things worked out that my daughter was only being taught by this one teacher instead of 4 different teachers, I'm sure her future at this school would have worked out differently. As it stands she'll continue to be homeschooled until I feel she's ready to return and I'm going to place her in a different school where she can have a fresh start. The appropriate actions at school is something challenging for everyone because one small act could seem larger than intended. There's this one girl in KG with my daughter who adores my daughter. On Halloween I was the parent helper. My daughter asked me for a hug because she loves me and is always hugging me. Her friend came over and asked me for a hug. I told her that I'm not allowed to without her parents' permission, but I could give her a high-five instead. I brought my camera that day and was taking pictures of my kiddo. A couple kids asked if I'd take their picture. I told them I wasn't allowed to without their parents' permission. I don't post pictures on social media of my kids so it's not like the pictures would go anywhere, but still it's always best to have that permission so you don't get into hot water. Because the kinder-kids aren't in school and usually they do a year-end graduation video for them. We've been sending pictures of our kids to the teacher so she can see what they're up to and how they're learning. We had to provide consent for pictures we've sent and any pictures we will be sending to be included in the video. Otherwise the video would be really short as not too many school events had occurred before the closures. We bought Kai an elevated pet bed that has supports underneath that will support his weight. It even comes with a canopy so if he's outside he'll be shaded. We might put it in front of our front door at night where he likes to sleep with the window open. It'll be an extra obstacle for intruders to get by. Or we may put him in the living room by the window and make sure the vent is closed off so no hot air blows up onto him. Having a big dog is so different than a small one! In high school I helped in the special needs room everyday for a few months. It was such a nice break from the regular hustle and bustle of my day with all my classes. I enjoyed working with the kids and they seemed to like having me there. I took time to get to know them in between lessons and didn't treat them any differently. When I saw them in the halls I'd always stop and say hi or wave to them if they were busy. If and when I choose to go the route of Educational Assistant I can do the courses online from home and just have to do my practicum in person either at the college or a nearby school. I'm not sure if you usually get paid for such placements but I'd be sure to do it on a volunteer basis for schools in my area, just so I could stay close to home. This way even if it's not in their budget, I can still get the experience. But I have things holding me back on that. And as you said the future is unpredictable.
  7. I'm glad that made you smile! This is the first teacher at this school that I actually adore. We even got her a little clipboard message thingy for her classroom for Valentine's Day. I got an email this morning from her teacher and she was so happy to see all the smiles from her kiddos that she's missing. She was tempted to just leave the present on everyone's door, but she needed to see their faces and see their smiles so she opted for the outdoor visit while maintaining social and physical distancing. Kai was not too thrilled to be on the leash. He kept yanking my husband to my daughter's teacher and hurting his hand so I took over Kai. I let my guard down and he pulled with all his might and I fell to the ground. All Kai wanted was pets and attention but we couldn't allow him to receive those out of safety for my daughter's teacher. So we ended up dragging Kai into the house. My experiences lately as being a homeschool teacher and being in the classroom on parent helper days, makes me want to be a teacher. I know that's something I can't do because of the cost for it and the amount of time it takes. So I'll probably settle for just being a teaching assistant. I hope your "normal" is right around the corner!
  8. @Ennoshima You're very welcome! Small distractions are lovely! Today my daughter got a huge surprise! Her kindergarten teacher emailed me last week. She had a gift to drop off for all the kiddos. So instead of their weekly phone calls, my daughter got to visit outside with her teacher while still keeping a safe distance. My daughter saw her teacher at the gate and her face just lit up! I didn't tell her about her teacher's visit. I wanted her to be surprised so she could enjoy it more. Her teacher came into our yard and chatted with us for a few minutes. My husband kind of took over, he always does lol. But A was just so thrilled to see her teacher she didn't really have much to say. Often she's a quiet girl anyways. She got to show her teacher their bouncy horse and what's starting to become our flower garden this year now that things are growing. In her email she mentioned asking the kids about how they know it's spring. So I had A tell us how she knows it's spring by the grass being green and leaves coming out. My daughter was over the moon happy and seeing her teacher brightened her day so much! Last night in preparation for her teacher's visit we made a beaded dragonfly keychain and a braided keychain with her teacher's name in beads. I also printed off a couple of pictures of my kiddo. I have an online store where I sell teaching resources, so I burned a disc with a few of my products for her teacher. We put everything in an envelope for her. I'm sure she'll like what we put together for her. I just read online tonight that testing for antibodies tot he Covid-19 has become available in Canada so I'm calling tomorrow to see if we can be put on the list. We're almost 100% positive we had the virus already in early March. So it would be nice to know for sure. A friend of mine was sick in January and it sounds a lot like what the COVID is, so I have to remember to text her tomorrow so she can inquire about getting tested. Our area is currently showing no cases and while we were talking we feel that it's here in our area and none of our cases have been tested or reported so there's no data for the geospatial map. Because of the lack of data people are getting complacent in my area. I'm being whined at to get a drink for my kiddos so I'd better go do that before they have a fit.
  9. It's too early to tell. From the looks of things it's a mobile site right now while it's in beta testing. They could release it as an app like other sites do that optimizes the site for your mobile device.
  10. @Duma I'll send you Kai! He'll help you clean out your freezers lol! Though that much people food probably won't be good for him. He's still very much a kibble pup and usually he gets whatever the kids don't eat instead of throwing it in the trash. We were getting him wet dog food but he stopped eating it for some reason. He would have that as his supper while we had ours. @Ennoshima I'm glad you're keeping up with your doctors and it could very well be related to changing medications. Hopefully in a couple weeks, I know that sounds so long, you'll feel better. We're here if you need to vent.
  11. We weren't planning on taking the fridge to the dump and were actually going to sell or donate it. Probably donate it now to our local foodbank so they can either use it or someone in need can. It still works, it was just too small for our needs. The conversation is forever changing! Spelling is a mystery half the time, so is letter sounds. I'm teaching phonics to my Kindergartner and it's amazing how many she's picked up. My oldest is learning phonics as well as spelling.
  12. That would require me knowing how to play poker in the first place. My kids like doing puzzles to a point. Then they just get bored. They have a very short attention span. At least with yogurt you can actually keep it for a while past it's due date before it goes bad. I've had yogurt in my fridge for a month after it's expiration date and it was still good. You can probably freeze the yogurt too, especially if you're going to use it for cooking/baking or any other instances where it's structure isn't as important. Most people here have one fridge unless you live out in the rural areas then you usually have two fridges and two freezers. At least that's what my in-laws do. Though technically they have 3 freezers. One is outside by the garage and that stores dog meat. We actually have two full-sized fridges right now. We replaced our old one with a shiny new on in September and our old one has been sitting on our front deck since. In October when the weather was cool my in-laws brought bones for Kai. Our weather fluctuated so much they started to spoil. Then we forgot about them and they've been in there ever since. Now they're starting to smell really really bad. We have to do something with those boxes ASAP but we're not sure what to do. We can't take it to the dump this smelly.
  13. I finished my book tonight that I've been slowly working on for the last several months. I started reading Tempests and Slaughter by Tamora Pierce shortly after it came out and I finally finished it. Now I'm sad because it's book 1 of 3 in a series and the other two have not been released yet. Next on my list is The Handmaid's Tale. I've been watching the series, but season 4 has been delayed for now. So I figured I might as well read the book. I'm not much of a puzzle person. I can do them every once in a while but constantly I would get bored. I'm thinking of starting a family game night again to get us all doing something together as a family. I have some learning games as well as games like monopoly, uno and battleship. If I find our deck of cards we can even play go-fish or something. The only thing I'm really missing right now with the weather being nicer is the ability to go to the park and play. We have a small one right behind our house, but it's closed. I agree with the closing of playgrounds. The kids will just have to make do with what's in our yard. We may buy a structure for them or we may not. Next week my daughter's teacher is going to all the kids' houses to drop something off for them. She's also going to visit with the kids while keeping a safe distance. My kiddo will have a chance to see her teacher and she's going to LOVE it! We don't really have anything in our yard to show off, besides Kai and all his excavations. So Ariel will probably talk to her teacher about Kai and what she's been up to. I'm so excited to surprise my kiddo with this visit from her teacher. This week was Teacher Appreciation Week, so we might make something for her teacher and leave it outside the gate for her. I was thinking of delivering it to her house, but this will be so much better. My kiddo is such a social bug and she's definitely feeling the strain of being isolated.
  14. Nope, definitely not crashing the party! Awe! I'm sorry you're having troubles enjoying certain things. This whole situation is really taking it's toll on everyone. My 6-year-old told me this afternoon "I hate this stupid virus!" All I could do was give her a hug and tell her I feel the same. She misses her friends so much! I used to enjoy going shopping as a family to get groceries provided my three kids got along and didn't act like animals in the store. Now I can't go. Tuesday was the first time since March 16th the kids have left the yard and Wednesday was the first time since then they've been in the vehicle for a drive. I find smaller things to be easier to cope with because they keep me busy. I've been outside a lot cleaning my yard. I did a lot of work last week so now my arms and shoulders are sore. I've started to read again and I haven't picked up a book in months. I even ordered two new books last week that I have now. Speaking of closets I need to go through mine eventually too. But the thrift store here is closed, so even if I do I can't donate my things I no longer want and have to store them somewhere else. I'll probably move things to our holiday trailer for the meantime until we can donate them. Don't worry about being negative! This thread is here to support everyone and provide an outlet. These are such uncertain times right now!
  15. My husband and I were talking that we may have to get someone to custom make a harness for Kai eventually. The thing with not keeping up on her math is her teacher is still evaluating her on it and I don't want to seem like we aren't doing the schoolwork. Hopefully we can catch up on those non-school days. One of the biggest challenges is I've been sleeping most of the days because I've been up late with the oldest. I know we'll get there by the end of the year, we just have to work hard. That really puts you in a hard position. We were at 21C yesterday here. Tuesday night my husband was getting the computer ready to go to his parents and we got to talking. We decided we would all go out to the farm to deliver the computer so I can help show Mom how to use the computer since I'm more familiar with the workings of the iMac then my Mr. is. They've been isolating as much as possible and so have we. We actually think we already contracted the COVID early in March and are not a risk to them. We won't know for sure until antibodies testing is available here. We left Kai at home yesterday for about 12 hours and our big guy was such a good boy! Not a single mess in the house and nothing was destroyed!! We were nervous coming home to see what destruction he got into. We had the window open for him and thankfully there was a good breeze coming in for him. The trip was so needed for our girls. Just getting them out of the house, going for a drive and breaking up the normal routine helped. All three kiddos slept early and slept all night long. Hopefully they can stay on track with their routine. In our area they're talking about loosening restrictions to allow a household to visit with only one other household. So we just went anyways. We didn't mention anything about bringing the girls out so Grandma was very very surprised to see them and it made her day! After we got home and had supper Kai refused to leave us alone and go outside for more than a few minutes. He was panting so much in the house and just wouldn't go outside to cool himself down. We could definitely tell he missed us. Next trip out we'll probably take him. He's such a good boy and with the dogs at the farm there shouldn't be a problem. They'll probably stay away from Kai because he's so darn big.
  16. Sometimes a lazy day is just all around needed. Kai's halter has a handle on it so it's easier to control him when he's pulling. We bought a different one and it's supposed to be more comfortable for him but he pulled like a freight train those few times I used it. I put his other one on and he settled in relatively well. The handle on the other one I just couldn't get a good grip on and it hurt my hand more. I prefer to use the collar when walking him so that if he starts to pull too much he feels it more and knows to stop. I just need to tighten his collar some more so he can't pull his head out of it. I think my oldest's problem is she forces herself to stay up at night so she can play in peace without her sisters around to bug her. This way she can play with what she wants and play her way. I know that's what she did when her sister was at school during the day. I'm horrible when it comes to a routine and kind of slack when it comes to bedtime. I know I need to put my foot down and be stricter but it hasn't happened yet lol. We're going to work in it constantly over the summer. Who wants to sleep all day when they can be playing in the sunshine and possibly the sprinkler? I have insomnia too so I know what that's like. Just like everyone, kids have their cranky days too. With my daughter's kindergarten work, we're behind in her math. I'm more focused on her language arts stuff with her letter sounds, tricky words and reading. Most of the math she's learning now will be retaught next year and expanded on slightly. So if we don't finish on time for the end of the school year I'm not worried. We can do it over the summer, as well as work on her other workbooks. My oldest crawled into my bed and fell asleep. My middle had her supper at the dining room table in my old desk chair and she's fallen asleep now too.
  17. Yikes, I'm sorry to hear about that! That's good that your boyfriend helps how he can. I feel bad on days when I have headaches because I'm sleeping and basically ignoring the existence of everyone in my house. My Mr. is pretty good at picking up my slack though. Even if I tell him to wake me up early and not let me sleep, he'll let me sleep anyways. Probably because I'm a royal grouch when I'm tired. I ordered a tactical harness for Kai that has pouches for that reason so I can pack it up before we go and hopefully not forget anything. Kai was so happy to be out and about. He had his nose to the ground sniffing quite a bit and finally eased up on the pulling. Usually I have the leash on his collar and not his harness but he pulled his fluffy head out of his collar while I was trying to get him back into the yard so I could get something from the house. His halter is so snug on him I knew there was no way he was squeezing his way out of it. We have done 0 schoolwork today. My oldest has been up since about 1am, it's now 6pm so she is gosh darn tired and incredibly cranky. I'm trying to get her sleep on a better schedule and to force her to go to sleep instead of fighting it. She will fight sleep right down to the last possible second. I give her until the sun wakes up to be asleep. If she's not asleep by then or shortly after she stays up all day in hopes that she'll go to bed around 7 and sleep until morning. Even if she's up at 5 or 6 I don't care as long as she's slept during the night. The last couple of nights she's only slept for about 6 hours and then she's up again. I also told her that if she's still up when the sun comes up tomorrow she doesn't get any cereal and will have to eat something different. I'm hoping that will be a bit more enticing for her to sleep. We'll see how tonight goes. All I know is I'm not staying up with her. My middle daughter is also cranky today. She only got about 5 hours of sleep when she's used to getting at least 8 - 10. She was up late fooling around with her sister instead of going to bed. I had to wake her up for her phone call with her teacher this morning. So after our walk and playing outside she is ready for sleep, but it's too early for her.

  19. Oh no! I hope your neck settles down for you. I sometimes get really bad headaches where they feel like a migraine. The only thing that helps is heat and sleep. Once I fall asleep I can ignore the throbbing, it's getting to sleep that's the problem. I took Kai and my two older girls for a walk today. The kids were so well behaved! They had no problems waiting outside for me. My oldest did have to come in the store to find me though because they both had to use the bathroom. They didn't touch anything in the store and used sanitizer outside. At home the immediately washed their hands. We took the stroller today even though they're big enough to walk and don't need the stroller, but because we took Kai, I wanted to do some training with him walking beside the stroller since it's been so long. It's much easier to do with an empty stroller and without my youngest. Kai did very well on his walk! At the grocery store, I normally tie him to the bike rack, but he was able to pull that away from the building. Same thing with the bench that I thought was anchored into the ground better. Nope! So I tied him up by the back alley where it's closed to traffic and they have these metal posts for the staff parking area to make a barrier. That secured him! When I came out with the girls he was laying there looking all handsome and well-behaved. If only people knew what he's like at home. We got him home and he came inside for a good drink of water. I forgot to bring his bowl and water with us whoops! But I wasn't expecting our walk to take so long. Now he's still got his halter on and he's sleeping in the grass in a shady spot he found. Now to try and get some schoolwork done with my kiddos and then they can play with their cloud slime for a bit.
  20. @Ennoshima Though Kai got his head squished in the gate a bit, he was totally fine and not hurt at all. It wasn't enough pressure to hurt him, just make him uncomfortable to pull his out of the way and maybe learn the gate bites. Oddly enough the smoke alarm going off doesn't set Kai off in a barking fit. With his big sensitive ears, (when he wants to listen), I know the sound bugs him but he doesn't outwardly show it. He also doesn't like the coffee grinder or when our robo vac goes home and the base turns on to suck out the robots dirt trap. The noise from the robo vac he really doesn't like! @jellysundae That's awesome news! I'm so glad you're able to get a grocery order in finally!! Sunday I cleaned up another part of the yard and then decided I'm going to move this pile of wood that needs to go to the dump since the Mr. said he's making a dump run this week. I want to put our still good pile of wood where the garbage wood is so it's out of the way and not visible by our nosy neighbour. I did it all myself including taking some old nails and screws out of some of the pieces. My Mr. is watching me as I'm doing this and doesn't even bother offering his assistance. He just stared at me completely amused seeing me get bested by a nail. I would have refused his help anyways because of his hand. It rained almost all day yesterday so I wasn't able to finish. Hopefully today I'll get out there and get some more work done. I'm not sure if today is going to be the dump run or later this week. Tomorrow my Mr. is planning to take the computer out to his parents and show Mom how to use it. Later today the kids want to make slime that I've been promising them. I also want to make a painting for Grandma for Mother's Day so that Dad can take it out with him. This week is also Teacher Appreciation Week and I had an idea of doing a photo collage with the kids from my daughter's class but no one really seems interested so my daughter and I are going to make her teacher a card and maybe a keychain or something from one of their many craft kits. As of yesterday parts of our province are opening up. Mostly medical professionals right now. My kids' dentist is still only doing urgent and emergency care so no routine check-ups and that yet. I'm hoping that will come soon. My youngster's top molars look a bit weird and I"m not sure if it's because they're not fully erupted, they have an extra point or if there's a cavity or something. She's also been saying her mouth hurts every once in a while so I'm wondering i she's getting another set of molars, but I think it's too early for that. So it would be nice to take her in and see exactly what is going on with her. Normally kids get their 2 front teeth up top before the lateral incisors (the ones on either side), but this little one got her lateral incisors first and then her central incisors on the top. Her bottoms came in with the normal pattern. It's nice to see things opening up but it still has me worried. We're not through this yet and won't be until there's a vaccine. Have to wait and see how things go.
  21. I have a lot of guilt over how Mouse's condition worsened and ended. It's just part of the natural grieving process and I know she's in a better place now. When Mouse's mum passed away we didn't have the knowledge of pet cremation that we do now, so we buried her in our yard. We think she would have preferred that anyways since being outside was her favorite. She loved to patrol the yard and make her rounds. Plus she was a simple girl and probably would not have liked all the fuss we made over Mouse. We had Mouse cremated. My husband actually took Mouse from the vet where we had her stored to a reputable crematorium where they ID tagged her so we knew we were getting her cremains back. My husband was also able to witness her being placed in the retort. It took longer that night because we requested a casting of Mouse's paws to be done. Because it was the last appointment of the day, the company made it happen for us. I'm so glad they did. Having a casting of her front paws is beautiful! One of the shelves above our TV is where we placed Mouse and some pictures. I should rotate the pictures one of these days. When her photo-book is completed it will go onto her shelf as well. I can sew small things but nothing major. Eventually I want to make throw pillows for the couch and some throw pillows for our reading nook. Around home all I wear is PJ pants and leggings. For when I venture out I'll wear my jeans. You could have been chasing those big boys all day! I'm glad I got Kai at the end of our block. The other day Kai just about bolted out the gate on my Mr. and got a good scolding for that after he got his head squished between the gate and the fence post. Normally he waits a good 2 - 3 feet back from the gate, but these two times he didn't. We desperately need to do some recycling as well and probably should have done it in Jan-Feb when money was very tight but it was cold out and the thought never occurred to us. Eventually it will get done. Our main priority right now is getting the yard cleaned up. So there will be a few trips to the dump made.
  22. I want to have a little memorial for Mouse. So for that I have to clean her shelf and give everything a good dusting. I also want to finish her Photobook I started on Shutterfly a while ago. Even if I can't order it in time, we can still look at it together as a family. Our youngest still knows Mouse and hasn't forgotten her, so I want to keep Mouse's memory alive for all of us. It was unfortunate timing, but she was looking awful for a few days prior and wasn't eating. So we knew her time was running out. If she hadn't passed away that Thursday morning we would have made arrangements for Monday to bring her to the vet. The saddest part is she collapsed on the stairs. I would have much preferred if she was asleep and just drifted away. It would have been less traumatic for everyone and more peaceful. My biggest issue with clothing is honestly pants. Either they're too tight and the right length or fit well in the waist but are a good few inches too long. I can't sew very well and normally I'd get my MIL to hem my pants for me but I don't like bugging her with it constantly. So I just roll up the bottoms of my jeans so I'm not stepping on them. My PJ pants I bought as a small and should have gone for an XS because they honestly fit like a medium to a large. They're so huge my husband could wear them! I've just been folding down the waistband so they fit better and I'm not pulling them up half my torso lol. That's honestly how big they are! Whoever sized them was very very mistaken! Oh well, they're comfy and eventually will wear out. This whole pandemic situation is taking it's toll on just about everyone these days. My oldest has what I believe to be un-diagnosed anxiety and she's not sleeping very well and her eating habits are worse then they normally are. I love salmon too and we had some smaller frozen fillets already in the freezer so the Mr. really didn't need to buy more but he wanted a nice fresh one. Most of the frozen ones you have to cook from frozen though. The fresh one will be defrosted and we'll probably bake it. Not entirely sure what is on the menu for Friday. I'm glad I was able to make your day better! Oh gosh 5 Kai's running lose would be enough to make me crazy! The worst part about it yesterday is he had no identification on him or his dog license so he could have gotten me in some trouble had he wandered off further. Now I'm being bugged to go outside and I really don't want to go outside.
  23. I have a date in May that used to bother my a lot. I'd get really withdrawn for a good couple of weeks. But it's getting better now. I don't foresee that particular date being a problem. Like the saying goes, time heals all wounds. I know that sounds very cliche but I can't think of anything better right now. I'm tired tonight! Now Mother's Day this year and most years following this one is going to be rough. We lost Mouse the day before Mother's Day last year, so this will mark 1 year with out our sweet girl. I'm sure in time we'll be able to remember Mouse on this day without feeling so sad. I have the opposite problem. I have short legs with a slightly longer torso and I'm about 5'4". I'm glad your in-laws were able to find something to help you out. Happy Early Birthday to you!! Friday is my Mr. and I's 9th anniversary. Gosh I can't believe it's been so long! It sure doesn't feel like it's been 9 years. He's planning on making a nice supper for us. We have a fresh fillet of salmon in the freezer for the occasion. We had to freeze it because he got it on Saturday and that would be almost a week in the fridge. Not a good idea when it comes to raw meat like that, especially fish. I find that too. If something is really bothering me I'll post about it on my blog and just the sheer fact of getting it out is helpful. Even if no one sees it or comments on it. If today wasn't a better day than yesterday, I hope tomorrow will be! That looks yummy, though not too my tastes lol. I'm not a fan of nuts of any kind lol. I won't even put walnuts in banana bread. Just nope! So I had an "Interesting" start to my day today. You all are going to laugh I'm sure! I get up at 8am so I can have a chance to wake up and have some quiet "me" time before I had to wake up my middle monster. Today was phone call day, where one of her teachers was going to call anytime from 9am - 12pm so she had to be up. I look outside and I see Sir Kai Bosh has gotten a hold of my planters that were on our back deck. Thankfully I had nothing growing in them and they were just weeds from last year since I didn't plant anything in them. But he did destroy one of my good ones. There's dirt all over the back deck and it's a bit windy. A smart person would have left it for a non windy part of the day. But I wasn't that smart lol. I started cleaning it up and ended up getting some dirt in my face and in my eyes. Not much but a few particles that were enough to irritate my eyes for a bit. I get the dirt all cleaned up, my empty planters put into the shed and had to decide what to do with the two planters I filled with dirt. I had to put them somewhere that Kai couldn't get them. Solution: put them on the other side of the fence by the driveway. So that's what I did. As I opened the gate, Kai just barrels out of the yard, nose to the ground. He COMPLETELY ignored me!! I called and called him, he didn't take his nose off the ground. So here I'm panicking, because he's a big boy and can outrun me if he really wants to. I quickly run back to the house and grab his collar and leash, as well as the first squeaky toy I saw on my way out. By the time I get out he's halfway down the block nose still on the ground taking in all the wonderful smells. I get somewhat close to him and he sees me with his collar and leash. I thought he would come to me, nope. Instead, he pranced off further down the sidewalk. He got to the house at the corner. I'm friends with the lady who lives there and know her kids. She has a fenced yard and a big dog, but not as big as Kai. At first I thought oh great I can put him in their yard and have him trapped so I can get his collar on. He turned directions and ran past their house. The lady opens her door and sees me on her lawn probably wondering what I'm doing. So I ask her to call him and she does. He runs right over to her and sits at her feet. She's in a wheelchair or else he would have flopped at her feet for belly rubs. I got close to Kai and he turns away. I grab him by the fluff on his butt and finally I can loop the leash around his neck so I can put the collar on him. Yay I have Kai caught! We talked for a couple minutes and Kai totally violated the 2m social distancing rules. But I'm not worried, they've been quarantined for more than 2 weeks and aren't sick right now. I finally get Kai in the direction of home and he's pulling on the leash. So I ended up having to lightly jog with him to get him moving. He cuts in front of me slightly and I just about flip over his back! I finally get him into the yard and a good scolding for running off. I would hate to have this big guy out at my in-laws' acreage. He'd be halfway to town before he turned around. He would just keep his nose to the ground and continue wandering. I'm so glad he only made it to the end of the block before I was able to get him. I was really not looking forward to having to chase him all around town for who knows how long. Silly boy! There's another story but my middle monster is bugging me relentlessly to play her reading game on my computer.
  24. I'm sorry you're having a rough day today! I hope tomorrow will be a better day for you. I'm glad you're finding the forums as a safe place! If you would like to you can reach out to me privately as well, I don't mind. I hope your video call goes well tomorrow and you're able to get through it. That's some rough events for your day. We've dropped food several times coming home, mostly do to being jumped on by a doggy and other times just sheer klutziness. It always sucks when that happens. Chin up! Tomorrow is a brand new day! _____ My day officially started at 4pm. Why? Well I was up until 9am and slept until 4pm. My youngest woke up at about 2am and she finally crashed shortly after 7am. I was waiting for an email from my daughter's teacher and decided to crash after I got it. I had a difficult time falling asleep and just about considered getting up and staying up for the day. But I didn't and decided to just stay with my youngest until she got up. Lately she hasn't been wanting to go down the stairs on her own so she will yell for Dad and start crying if he doesn't come before coming to me and waking me up, but I've already heard her so I'm usually getting up as most of the crying starts. She can go down the stairs herself and is just choosing not to. I could have left her by herself in my bed, but she normally wakes up scared and crying if no one is with her. Not the greatest way to start your day. After getting up I wrote out my daughter's lesson plan for this week and we worked on some of her math from the other week. We have 3 more worksheets to finish up tonight and I'm hoping we can do them so I can put the book away in our completed box. Tomorrow morning her teacher or assistant teacher is calling to talk with her and myself, so we'll have to be up early for that phone call. Thursday there's no math assignment, the class is having a Google Meet where they'll be playing a math game with their teacher. It should be fun. From all my raking in the yard yesterday I'm sore so it's nice to be having a lazy day.
  25. For me it's mostly muscle memory when it comes to typing. At first typing one-handed was challenging but after 3 kiddos I've gotten used to it. Tomorrow I have to clean off the dining room table and set up my in-laws' computer so that's ready to go for them. My Mr. is planning on bringing it out to them on Wednesday. Another week of lesson planning will need to be done. I've got to practice middle monkey's tricky words more often this week. Some of the newer ones she's struggling with. She's used to the constant repetition from at school. I might try to get out in the yard again and finish cleaning this side of the yard. Kai has the kids' old kiddie pool and he's been playing with it all winter. I'm debating if I want to let him keep playing with it or if I want to toss it over the fence for the upcoming dump run. Did a little Amazon shopping tonight and ordered Kai some new toys for the yard and a tactical harness with packs for him. Being a working breed, he's going to be working on his walks, carrying water, a small first-aid kit and possibly other things I feel I need to bring along with us. Eventually my goal is to have him also pulling a wagon, but he needs to be a better walker before we can do that. Every little bit helps Duma! I'm going to see if the girls can keep bringing me dirt so I can fill the holes. When they're all filled on this side I'll spread some grass seed and give it a water. Tomorrow is one of my middle monkey's friends' birthday so she's making her a picture that I will take a picture of and message to her mum. My little girls is so sweet and thoughtful! My oldest is expressing her hatred for this virus and being locked up in the house and yard. She misses being able to interact with people, plus her friends' party in March got cancelled and now her sisters' friends' party has been cancelled too.
