Blah blah blah...someone else is on top for once and that obviously means cheating is afoot. And he called Prytariel an idiot! Whatever will we do?!?!?!?!?

Nothing. We're gonna sit back, keep working hard, and enjoy our success.

BTW, HW started the tournament terribly but have suddenly made a huge turnaround. Does that mean there are cheaters on HW? I haven't thought so.

Oh and if you keep coming onto this thread trying to pick a fight or something, you WILL be reported. :)

How many cheaters are in the AC? I thought all of them were on my team... (/sarcasm)

Good luck in your new bracket, show them what you've got, and don't even listen the haters.

The same with Faerieland and Moltara. We've been in the same bracket since the beginning.
I really don't care who wins, and my team won't be winning so it really doesn't matter to me. My main focus is just ranking up and trying to get as close to All Star as I can. :)

Yes. Clearly we don't have enough. :sad01_anim: If memory serves, Terror Mountain and Maraqua already have a standing rivalry stemming from when the Chillers dealt Maraqua a particularly devastating upset two years ago. :P

Mireia reacted to xblade356 in Tyrannian Fossils Continue Triumphant Streak
Hello everyone! This is Matt reporting live from the newsroom! I'm back from jail errr...the movies! It feels good to be back, so let's get started with the results from the Alabriss
    Bracket.

Yesterday, we saw Darigan Citadel and Tyrannia go head to head for the first time. Darigan Citadel, after their shocking loss in Yooyuball yesterday against Team Virtupets, looked very good coming into today's match. But looks aren't everything. Layton Vickles was able to get The Citadel an early lead in the first half, but the Fossils, who were determined as ever to keep their streak alive, rebounded in the second half for a score of eight to six. The Fossils were also able to prevent Darigan from obtaining any wins today, sweeping them cleanly on all fronts. Tyrannia has proved that they are capable of taking down a big powerhouse such as Darigan Citadel. As for the Minions, are they going to be headed in a downward spiral from here on out? Currently third in their bracket, the Minions are going to have to step up their game if they want to have a chance to win the Cup once again.

Virtupets and Kreludor faced each other yesterdy, and after their shocking win against Darigan Citadel, the Robots were looking to take more wins against last year's winners and arch enemy Kreludor. The Robots started the match strong, and they were able to keep up that energy. The Moons weren't able to stop them and lost in Yooyuball. However, Kreludor was able to bounce back and sweep Virtupets in the side games. Team Virtupets looks like that they're focusing on winning Yooyuball and abandoning the side games. With two Yooyuball wins so far, it seems like this strategy is working, but will it be very beneficial to them in the long run?

Rounding out the Alabriss Bracket we have the match of Krawk Island and Shenkuu. It was no surprise here as Krawk Island dominated Yooyuball, winning against the Ninjas with a score of six to four. The Pirates were also able to claim Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown from their opponents. The Ninjas weren't going to go out without a fight as they were able to take Slushie Slinger. The Pirates are looking good this year. Currently second in their bracket, today's match will certainly be a deciding factor to determine if they'll move up, or be trapped in second like last round.

Now we go to Austin who is in the field right now with the results from the Minitheus Bracket.

"Thank you, Matt. This is Austin reporting to you live from the practice fields this morning with some exciting results from the Minitheus Bracket. Yesterday, there were two sweeps, along with another near sweep. This competition in this bracket has proved to be fairly one-sided going into the third day.

First we start off with the match of the day in the Minitheus Bracket, Maraqua against Altador. The Suns proved to be too much for the Mermaids as they continued their dominance with another sweep. However, Maraqua was able to get Altador within one point in Shootout Showdown, the first time Altador has failed to win a game by two or more points all Cup. Maraqua wasn't able to slow Altador down at all on the fields as Altador prevailed with an eight to five victory. Altador seems unbeatable right now, and midway through the cup, the word "undefeated" is being thrown around.

Roo Island continues to impress, as they pulled another sweep over the Natives of Mystery Island. Mystery Island looks like they're wanting to pull a "red-out," as they have yet to win a game of Yooyuball, and their only win came in Shootout Showdown. Fans of the team don't see too upset, though. The team seems a free-spirited as ever and seems to be having a good time, despite falling from second place to dead last. Roo Island on the other hand, has rebounded very well and is looking to take over a podium spot once again.

The Chillers from Terror Mountain were able to take the bonus game, Make Some Noise, from the Mummies of the Lost Desert, with the Mummies coming up big in the other games. This has been the Mummies' most impressive victory of the cup so far, and they look to build momentum off of it. The Chillers, despite sitting in fourth place in the bracket, have not looked very impressive yet this year. If they manage to keep their placing though, they could easily be a contender for a middle-of-the-pack placing. Both teams have a lot of work left to do, but both could easily make a run towards the end.

Since I know I didn't miss a game today, that should be all from the Minitheus Bracket, Matt, let's send it back to you before I start crying again about last night. Stay classy Neopia!"

Thank you Austin, well I have the results from the Vaeolus Bracket, and it looks like there are sweeps galore.

For our first matchup, we have Meridell versus Moltara. Meridell has been put into a relatively easy bracket, and they've certainly showed their dominance today. The Knights were able to pull off a sweep against the Magmas. Currently residing in first place in their bracket, it looks like they have this bracket under their belt, provided they don't get complacent.

In our second matchup in this bracket, we have Haunted Woods against Faerieland. This was another matchup that ended in a sweep, as the Zombies cleanly swept the Faeries. The winners of the first AC are going to be looking to make their mark on the Altador Cup once again.

For our last matchup of the bracket Kiko Lake took on Brightvale yesterday. Kiko lake was able to disrupt the bracket's sweeping by taking a win in Yooyuball. Brightvale wouldn't stay down however, as they swept the Kikos in all the side games. Kiko Lake has been having their on and off days lately, and if they can make more of the upcoming days "on days" they'll certainly be able to take a second tier finish.

Now for our matches to watch.

We have Krawk Island versus Tyrannia today. Krawk Island will be looking to do what Darigan could not do yesterday: stop Tyrannia's sweep streak. Like I also said before, this matchup could also decide their bracket standings, and at this point of the bracket, every team needs all the advantages they can obtain.

Another matchup to watch is Kiko Lake against Meridell. Meridell is on a hot streak after their sweep yesterday, and if they're able to carry that energy with them to today's match, a sweep is very likely. Kiko Lake however, will be trying to bounce back from yesterday's side game sweep from Brightvale. This is the first time that Kiko Lake has faced Meridell, although they've been in the same bracket with them, so it'll be hard to determine what the outcome of the match will be.

I guess this wraps up yesterday's results. It was a relatively peaceful day today and I'm very grateful for that. As much as I enjoy it, it is nice to take a break from hunting Austin and blowing things up. I think I need more vacation days, where is Lydia? Anyways, this is Matt from The Daily Neopets reporting live from our newsroom. Until tomorrow everyone!

Hello and welcome everyone! This is Matt reporting live from the newsroom. Before we start with the results, I have to report some breaking news from the Colosseum. Several clockwork Yooyus exploded underground during the match between Meridell and the Lost Desert. Nobody was hurt, and they are believed to have exploded when a fan snuck into a restricted area and set their timers off. We have surveillance footage from the pens, and any help identifying this man [shows image of a man] would be greatly...

    Wait...is that Austin!? Oh wow...uhhhh...

Let's move on to yesterday's results. In the Alabriss bracket we saw top contender Meridell face off against Lost Desert yesterday. Meridell got off to a strong start, and was able to show their dominance by shutting out the Mummies during the first half. The Mummies finally broke through Meridell's defense during the second half, and were able to make a comeback. But not soon enough, as time ran out and the score ended with Meridell having six goals and Lost Desert having five. Meridell was then able to sidesweep the Mummies, cleanly sweeping the Lost Desert.

In the match between Kiko Lake and Kreludor yesterday, we saw some very interesting results. Kiko Lake was able to take Yooyuball from the Moons with a very close last second goal. The Moons weren't discouraged by this however, and managed to sidesweep the Kikos.

Darigan Citadel and Mystery Island went at it yesterday, and while the Natives were able to get an early lead, the Citadel was able to come back and win Yooyuball, as well as the other sidegames, cleanly sweeping the Natives on all fronts. The Citadel has proved they are a force to still be reckoned with, suffering only four losses this season. They may very well be poised to take the Cup yet again.

And now for something completely different, Austin has retained his position as a full time reporter on staff here at The Daily Neopets. Not sure that's a great idea, but Lydia was yelling something about being "short handed" and muttering about "team songs" and so I thought it was best not to ask. We'll go to Austin now for the Vaeolus Bracket's results.

"Thank you, Matt. Even though that person in the video looks like me, walks like me, and even sounds like me, it is NOT me. We see, the man is wearing gloves, and I don't wear gloves. They don't fit on me, as my hands are too big. If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.

Now onto this morning's news. We have developing story out of team Altador's camp. After their recent success, the team has decided to offer team captain, "Trapper" Remis, a four year contract extension. This all comes only days after Altador got off to their best start in Cup history. Questions are still raised on whether or not this is the right move, but many experts like the decision. We now have former All-Star and Cup champion, Dasher Soley, joining us to talk about the gutsy action taken by Altador.

Dasher, after their short stint of success so far in this Cup, do you think it is right for Altador to sign Trapper to a long-term deal?

Yarrr! I be believin' so m'laddy. They be makin' the right moves and he be deservin' of this.

The team has committed to its roster, as it has only made one move in the past eight years. With their strong start, would it be smart for them to keep the same players?

Aye it be. As I always say "if it ain't fixed don't break it" or somethin' like that.

Thank you for joining us today, Dasher. Enjoy your retirement.

Now, let's move on to the Vaeolus bracket results, where we had no real surprises yesterday.

Altador continued their dominance of the bracket with a sweep over Moltara. Altador now has their fifth sweep in a row, tying Tyrannia with the most in the tournament. Altador appears to be the front-runner for the Cup, since they have won every game they've played this year by two points or more. Moltara, on the other hand has continued to struggle and may be fighting to stay out of the bottom tier for a fourth year in a row.

Roo Island failed to complete their fifth sweep in a row yesterday, as the Ninjas topped them in Make Some Noise. The Rooligans were still able to capture the overall win with a five to four victory in Yooyuball. Roo Island looks poised to compete for the Cup this year, while Shenkuu appears to be a third tier contender. It is still early, but it looks like both teams have the placings set early on.

The most exciting match in the bracket yesterday was Virtupets and Faerieland. The Robots need to get a statement win over the Faeries to stay alive in the Vaeolus bracket, and they did just that. They captured a last minute goal to win the game five to four. Virtupets got their second win of the year and will look to gain some momentum after the break day.

Finally, I send my condolences to anyone and anything harmed in the incident yesterday. I hope everything is well, and the culprit is found soon. Now, let's send it back to Matt in the studio. Stay classy, Neopia."

Thanks Austin! Now for the Minitheus Bracket, where we have some very predictable results. We saw Tyrannia and Maraqua playing against each other yesterday, and while Maraqua is relatively high in their bracket, they weren't able to stop a clean sweep from Tyrannia. The Fossils were able to dominate the entire match, showing no signs of letting up. Maraqua was able to get in a few goals once in a while, but Tyrannia's impervious offence made sure to keep the ball on the Mermaids' side of the field. Tyrannia has been doing very well this year, being one of the only teams that still has a perfect record, they will be a team to watch in the days to come.

On the bottom of the bracket, we had Terror Mountain and Haunted Woods face to face. Statistics wise, Terror Mountain has been the better team this year, with one more win than Haunted Woods. But that didn't seem to matter yesterday as Haunted Woods was able to sweep the Chillers in all games. It looks like the former Cup champions may have regained their footing.

For the last matchup of the day we had Krawk Island versus Brightvale. Krawk Island was able to show us that they're still a powerhouse team and a force to be reckoned with. They were able to beat Brightvale in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, and Shootout Showdown. Brightvale however was not happy to roll over and take it, so they managed to take Slushie Slinger from the Pirates.

For the matches to watch we have the Practice Team going against every team. Don't be fooled - those jelly Chias are deadly. Do not underestimate them. They're a strong team capable of doing almost anything.

Well that's it for this news report! This is Matt reporting from the newsroom, signing off. Until next time everybody!

Whether or not there is cheating going on, I can't do anything about it and I don't even know how to look out for it. That's an issue for Neopets themselves. Plus, I don't consider "Our team isn't in first place!" as a strong enough argument for proving that cheating is going on. Krawk Island's position over the years has fluctuated regardless of what was going on or who was helping out. It happens.

As for me, I'm just going to keep playing hard for Terror Mountain because that's my team and that's what I want to do. :)
