If you go to the neopets index, then click on a neopet, you can feed them or play with items in your inventory faster than from the inventory page. I don't know if the avatar for the pinata works that way though.

That's for the base pets anyway. There are almost always a few exceptions where specific colours appeal to me though. So grundo's do very little for me but I like the Halloween and Marshmallow ones. Burlap Meerca's are cool, the Woodland Techo was nicely done, And often the Mara/Mutant versions are cool, although again species dependant.
