Guest Levy
Present: C was disassembled. Kait was working on his internal hydrolics while C's mind was hooked up to a machine allowing him to forge new armor. They were deep underground in a top secret location, this was where Clint became C. Kait stopped for a moment, "Clint, are you sure we don't have to worry about him coming down here?" "No, he never came back here again, we are safe." C responded through a computer, his voice was mechanical again. "Good, I would rather avoid the possible complications..." "There's no worry." he said assuringly. Then added, "I'm about done with my arm, you ready to apply the new Hydrolics?" ((This is just some filler, when you guys return, C will have new armor and refurbished internal hydrolics systems. The person they are talking about will come into play. Just wait.)) antiaircraft
"Inbound missile barrage." The message came from one of the sensor operators on board the TimeRip frigate. Several of Char-Kin-Vine's assistants swore softly - the other crew members were too busy to waste energy on expletives. The Force Leader himself immediately began issuing commands to the auxiliary gunners on board the two destroyers, ordering them to give fire support to the frigate against the two Chraxon destroyers that had managed to get past the main bulk of the task force. He was on the verge of instructing the frigate to pull back towards the rest of the task force when Shade broke in. "Shade to TimeRip frigate, bring short range turrets online and engage those destroyers." "What?!" The statement of surprise came simultaneously from several different comm channels. "Repeat: bring short range turrets online and engage the destroyers. You possess far superior firepower, and nothing they have could even dent your shields." Char-Kin-Vine's face contorted for a moment, then resolved into the alien equivalent of a grin. "I like your reasoning. Frigate, engage immediately!" Midtime
Echo came to quickly and shook his head. The world spun and danced before his eyes. He backed up into a corner, hidden to the velociraptor's eye and scent-masked by a pungent-smelling flower, crest feathers raised as high as possible to give an impression of size. He had seen the speed and strength of his foe, but most of all the strange being's intelligence. It knew how to use the surroundings and special physical techniques to increase its fighting capability. He was a loner. He had no pack, no-one to call to for help. Unless... He remembered running. He remembered the ululations that the chasing pack had made as he ran through their territory. Every call was different, but if he could alter his pitch correctly, if - This is battle. Forget the ifs. The train of thought above had taken place within about two seconds. He raised his head, and uttered a sound somewhere between a cough and a caw. CAW-haw. CAW-haw, CAW-haw. ((I replicated the sound I imagine in text to the best of my ability, but it can never be perfect.)) Echo hoped they were in the area. An answering chitter-screech returned in record time, just as two velociraptors leapt out of hiding, straight at the alien beings. ((The one attacking Floaro will pin him down before anything else if it catches him, if he's unlucky it will slash him somewhere and inflict a serious but non-mortal wound. I'm assuming the second will go straight through Yema.))
Loc
Floaro drew his sword, he would not mind killing these, they are of no importance, he slashed at the head of the raptor as it came at him, but it only got his jaw, it fell back but came at him again, Floaro jumped over the raptor as it came at him, in the air he threw his sword directly at the raptors head, but since the dino was still moving it implaed him into the ground through his hind legs. Guest Levy
Present: Kait latched C's neuralogical network to the new suit. The air hissed and the suit dislodged from the wall. Kait took a few steps back as C attempted to gain his balence. "You look like a knight." she said. C's vocal chip hummed to life and a human voice responded with a chuckle, "I'm better than I was." "You just need your sword now." "Huh?" "While you rested, I secretly worked on the emitter. You built it well from my vague designs. I perfected it." she responded. She plugged a cord to the side of the emitter and it lit to life. A controlled beam of light extended from the end. "The sword will run from your main energy supply so use it sparingly. Of course it is still capable of that light blast you demonstrated earlier. The entire city was bathed in the light emmited then. Only do that when you are hooked up to an unlimited power suply." "It looks like something out of Star Wars." C commented. "Only there is a big difference," she said, then moved the sword back and forth. The light responded in a delayed fasion. Kinda like a whip. "it doesn't respond immediatly." She turned it off then gave it to C. He fitted it into a matching campartment on his right arm. "Better practice." Kait said as C began to move about. "Don't worry." he said, then donned a black cloak as long as his body. "I'll have some fun with this."
antiaircraft
((Does anybody have any objections to me calling the alien race invading Earth the 'Che-jan'?)) The TimeRip frigate turned slowly towards its assailants - it was a Donost Model 113, equipped with some of the best shielding equipment in the Twelve Fleets. Like all Che-jan frigates, it also packed enough firepower to smash a small moon into dust within seconds. The Chraxon destroyers that had attempted to surprise it from behind were considerably tougher than a small moon, but not by much. Seeing two of their finest ships reduced to flaming hulks in less than 30 seconds had a marked effect on the Chraxon force. Their remaining ships, now considerably reduced in number, pulled back into a defensive position and began pouring suppressive fire on the Che-jan fighters, whose kill count now included most of the Chraxon fighters and several corvettes. Four of the Che-jan fighters had been severely damaged in the dogfighting, but those had been towed safely back to the destroyers' hangar bays for repair. The rest of the fighters immediately pulled back to sheltered positions behind the destroyers. Suddenly, a swarm of missiles erupted from the Chraxon task force and headed towards the frigate, which was still sluggishly making its way towards the main site of the conflict. Under a screen of protective fire from the Echronal Physig, one of the Che-jan corvettes flew out and calmly destroyed most of the larger missiles with its lasers. The rest of the missiles impacted harmlessly on the frigate's shields. As the frigate pulled in alongside the two Che-jan destroyers, it opened fire with its short-range turrets, tripling the amount of energy being hurled at the Chraxon ships. The enemy fired back, and the Echronal Physig's shielding circuits began to whine under the strain of the fire from the remaining Chraxon destroyers and the two battleships. Then carefully choreographed fire from the Che-jan ships finally made its mark. The engines of one of the badly damaged Chraxon battleships flashed from their customary dark orange to blue. A blinding white light suddenly engulfed the two battling forces, so bright it momentarily outshined the Sun. The thermometers on board the Che-jan ships jumped up several notches, and the sensor readouts blanked out for several seconds. There was no shockwave - that sort of thing couldn't travel through vacuum - but when the sensors recovered, the Chraxon task force was no longer there. ((Chraxon battleships of the prehistoric era are powered by nuclear reactors - really big ones))

antiaircraft
((That's the idea Levy, that's the idea. ;) But I guess the Chraxon in the present would avoid using this incident as a reason to engage in a war, because technically the Chraxon attacked first and thus they would consider that the Che-jan had every right to retaliate. However, I'm pretty sure they would come to defend Earth.)) The bright light dissipated, and the temperature slowly began to drop back to normal. Communications officers immediately began to establish the status and condition of all the ships in the task force, while the sensor operators swept nearby space to make sure it was devoid of any threats. Char-Kin-Vine roared general reprimands every few seconds to make sure everybody was doing their job properly. Shrapnel from the explosion began to ping against the Echronal Physig's shields, ricocheting of in showers of sparks, but the impacts were minor compared to the pounding they had taken in the battle, and the noise emitted by the shield circuits had settled down to a contented humming. Shade's awareness slowly returned to his surroundings. The first thing he thought was: As I expected, the Chraxon nuclear reactors of this time period do not possess high-energy regulators, and thus are not capable of remaining stable at high temperatures. He had been so absorbed that it took him several seconds to realise that the battle was over, and several more seconds to realise that he had won it. He ignored the feeling of elation - there was more work to be done. ((By the way, I expect the people on the ground would have seen the explosion))

Loc
(( Waiting on me? I just killed one of your minions, you don't need to wait on me. But alright)) The other dino leaped straight through Yema, splashing into a pool of water, which engulfed him immediately. Floaro then turned to the Dino, he sent more instincts to try and make him peaceful.
antiaircraft
The dense jungle terrain around the area where the portal should have emerged had an unusually high level of humidity, which interfered with the sensors of the two fighters that were now sweeping the terrain below. There was also an incredible variety of species, including giant flying pterosaurs with gas sacs that allowed them to soar into the upper atmosphere to escape danger. However, it did not take long for the fighters to zero in on their targets. Making no attempt to be stealthy, they armed a barrage of strike torpedoes and banked in for the kill. ((Minions? I thought Echo tricked those other raptors into helping him. *shrugs*))

Midtime
((OK, I'm posting, I'm posting! :P And my original idea was to have Echo sort of dragged kicking and screaming. But then he'd figure the aliens were worse than the humans so he would help them and then go back to his normal life once he was done.)) Echo retreated another step, hoping they might miss him if he ran. His opalescent feathers, for all his time in society his pride and joy despite the way they stood out, lay flat against his back, intimidation no longer needed. They seemed to be less perceptive than most of the creatures he had come across, if his equal in combat. How had they come here, into his domain? He decided he probably didn't want to find out, and turned to run. Are these enemies? The question came out of nowhere, catching his consciousness off balance. Strange. He'd never ask such a question in normal circumstances. But these weren't normal circumstances. Are these enemies? This was ridiculous. They had intruded into his distinctive territory, obviously ignoring the scent marks he had layed. They had fought him, tricked him somehow into coming here. By all instinct, it was a moot point. But Echo was not as ruled by his instincts as normal velociraptors. He would think on it... after he had left - He had thought for too long. The three other velociraptors, having realised their mistake, lunged, hissing and screeching at the impostor who had lured them here. Midtime
((*Joins in the double brackets craze*)) Echo ducked low and dodged, hissing in surprise. The assailants landed, conferring briefly with one another in low-pitched screech-chitters, and spread out to encircle him, blocking any escape routes he might have. They circled slowly, getting closer, closer... Then a flash, and the ground exploded, throwing them all in the air. The other velociraptors, not as close to the point of impact, got up and ran away. Echo tried to do the same... ...but when he put weight on his left leg, searing pain shot through it and he collapsed to the ground. It was too much new information at once for his brain, which, though extremely capable, had been patterned by the simple world of kill and eat for his entire life and needed time to become once again adaptive and curious. It shut down, leaving Echo unconscious on the ground as torpedoes exploded around him. ((That will make it easier to drag Echo, and if you heal his leg - since it has never happened in the history of life at that point, as an injured 'raptor is a liability to the pack and is left to die - he will be grateful enough to help you.))
