jingfah Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Next semester is my last semester as an undergrad. I only need three classes before I can finally graduate and receive my bachelors. While registering I was able to sign up for two of the classes with no difficulties, but the third one requires a special permission form to be filled out and signed by the professor of the course. I have been trying for two months to get the professor to allow me into this class and I admit, it has been a bit stressful not knowing for sure if I would be able to register for it or not. But as of today, he has finally agreed that the form looks good, the deliverables are acceptable, and that he will start processing the paperwork to register me for the class. Naturally I immediately went and applied for graduation. Hopefully it is accepted with no problems!! (please please please, because knowing my luck there will be problems thanks to spending a year studying abroad in Korea) BUT ANYWAY. Yay for finally being signed up for the last course I need to graduate! Spring 2016, here I come! jellysundae, rntracy1, Wildbreeze and 1 other 4 Quote
ladycanary Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Scheduling can really be a pain, but I'm glad it worked out for you! What's your major? Quote
jellysundae Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Congratulations! Hopefully this will be the end of you having to chase him up, with what I've heard from various US friends about their own trials with various professors and succeeding in getting registered for courses, this line, "and that he will start processing the paperwork", doesn't fill me with confidence. D:< Is there a means to find out if he's actually done it, without causing offence? Quote

I imagine I can check the course registration area and see if it updates with the new class on it. If it hasn't been added within a week, I'll email him and see what the status is on adding me to the class. Quote
CylonPirate Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Congratulations on getting the classes you need. I remembered a week after my registration appointment started that it was time to register. (The perils of going to two schools at the same time.) I ended up getting two of my needed classes but the third I'm on the waitlist. I'm hoping since its an online class the professor will open up more seats. Quote

Fingers crossed he'll buck the professorial trend and get it done without you having to do anything more. I've heard they tend to be pretty allergic to checking their emails too. :rolleyes_anim: Maybe the things they do are a totally passive aggressive means of making sure classes don't end up overloaded? :shiftyeyes_anim: Quote

I go to a small school and have never even heard of that one. Regardless, good luck with your future classes, now that everything seems to be in order with registering! Quote

Haha even in my school - which is fairly well known for the program - few students have heard of it. Wellll, I still need the signed document sent to registration and I'm not sure if the professor is going to send it to them, or if he is going to send it to me and I'm going to send it to them. Which is something I had not thought of in my overwhelming excitement of finally having him agree. But yes, hopefully it will all be completely in order soon. And thank you for the luck! Quote
mariaelise Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Thats great! I had schedule drama for Spring 2016 too. I'm taking five courses, three of them online, and the other two are 7:00-9:30 pm classes! Probably the worst schedule I could imagine for me, I have never taken an online course, so it should be interesting. Plus I signed up for a "Staff" class for Calc, so I don't know what professor is going to teach it...hopefully not a bad one! Quote
rntracy1 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Yay! Good for you. I can remember my excitement during my last semester, and even more so when I graduated. It will be here before you know it. Good luck to you. Quote
