Seems I've not been active for quite a while here, and it's even been nearly two years since I've been on Neopets at all. Partially because my old computer was pretty much steam driven and partially because I started a family (and I'm sorry but cute baby trumps cute virtual pets any day!) I'll grow up one day (naaaaah!) And I love studio ghibli films too, Howls Moving Castle is probably my fav but Totoro runs a very close second though! jingfah Posted November 22, 2015 Share Posted November 22, 2015 I was actually very strongly anti-hello kitty up until I turned 18ish for reasons I'll never understand (probably the typical teen wanting to be seen as a serious adult and not wanting presents that they see as "kid stuff"), but I always got a lot of hello kitty stuff as presents and I absolutely hated it. But I'm also a pack rat in real life, so I rarely got rid of the presents. And now, as an adult, I get to reap the benefits of years of hello kitty presents that younger me never bothered to give away. And growing up is completely overrated. It's definitely not the grand adventure that younger me made it out to be - I'll take neopets and hello kitty over bills and responsibility any day. Also, Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke forever. I've still never seen Totoro whoops, but I did get a picture with him at the Studio Ghibli exhibit in Korea? You have that to look forward to then :D I'm glad I'm not the only one who was buying Totoro things before they'd even seen the film, lol, Totoro just has that effect on people I think. I got to watch From up on Poppy Hill on the TV this morning which was a treat, I especially love Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away, but I think Poppy Hill's my favourite out of the Ghibli's that I've seen so far. I usually watch them on KissAnime on my laptop, but the Film 4 channel here in the UK regularly shows Ghibli films and they've just started on them again, next one's Porco Rosso next Sunday. Princess Mononoke was shown yesterday, but I missed the first 20 minutes, and then my mum called me and we chatted for an hour, so by the time I turned the volume back up I really didn't have a clue what was going on, lol, definitely one I need to watch uninterrupted! Hope you like it if you do watch it :D it's more low key than most Ghibli films, I think, there's no magic/fantasy involved so it's a little different to what people might expect, but I love it, it's my go-to thing to watch when I'm feeling a bit down, because it makes me calm and happy. The last half of Princess Mononoke did get my full attention, but because I'd missed the first hour and 20 minutes of it I was quite confused. I still enjoyed what I watched but as you say, it deserves to be seen without distraction. Lol, I'm wanting to visit KissAnime now and watch me some Ghibli! *looks at clock* 1:54am...not such a good idea :shiftyeyes_anim: I can hear Sophie calling to me though... My go-to sad movie is Pride & Prejudice because I'm a ridiculous sap - even with all of it's inaccuracies, it still makes me happy. Now I'm curious - did you sleep or did you watch something?I will be very impressed if you slept because Sophie is rather persuasive. I have the DVDs of the BBC adaptation and because I adore that version so much I don't want to watch the Hollywood movie, lol. I have never been able to find it in an accessible watching place either. Netflix is forever disappointing me by not having it. So I actually checked it out from my library two weeks ago - and then I didn't have any time to watch it. So then I re-checked it, and it's due tomorrow, and I still haven't watched it. I'm just watching the trailer on Youtube, I didn't realise Judi Dench played Lady Catherine, she rocks, that's a perfect role for her. Which is probably why I love the movie so much - and the fact that I adore Kiera Knightly. Judi Dench was wonderful (like always), and the guy playing Mr. Collins isn't repulsive, I admit, but he does a good job being exactly the kind of guy you'd avoid at a party because he's the wrong kind of awkward and excessively annoying. I got lucky in that I caved and paid for it a couple years ago, so when they bumped up the prices they let me keep my old price. So that's nice. Also, leeching is so much nicer now that you can create separate profiles. No more messing up my recommended shows because of the random stuff my little sister occasionally watches! I'm in the middle of watching Heros with my boyfriend, but we plan to start Jessica Jones after! Back when I signed up there was only the one. So I guess I've got the most basic pack because I certainly never signed up for more than that. And honestly it works perfectly fine for me, so I wouldn't say that no one wants it haha.
