No Taste? or just pure luck ?

this pet won first place in the customization contest , i mean , i know it's winter & all , but this is a very standard cheap customization , nothing original about it !!! where did the complicated taste of Neopians go ? :o

I had the exact same thought when I saw it! I mean, it's cute and all, but not really Custom. Contest worthy. Maybe NP-only customizations are getting rarer and rarer?

I don't know about the rarity or quality of NP-only customs, but I think in this specific instance, the season really played a big part in it winning. And it is a very clean, coordinated outfit- maybe it's not the most expensive set out there, but the items all work well together and with the pet color, making for a very cute winter pet.

 

And if you check out the various past winners there are plenty of NP winners that have a bit more pizazz or uniqueness to them.

Well, maybe I`m a bit biased as it`s a Grarrl, but I actually think it`s pretty good. All the crisp blue & white tones work well together imho. Cool!

If I was voting, I'd likely be rating this 7+.

 

When voting I look for a) does it match b ) was there effort c) is there a theme. I think all of those were hit so I can easily see why this grarrl won.

Where exactly did you see us mention costs? We're saying they don't look creative, regardless of prices.

I actually prefer crisp outfits like these. Most owners nowadays tend to spam every category of wearable they have onto their submitted pet. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I think we've just been accustomed to seeing loads of foregrounds and accessories so this particular outfit may seem plain.

I'm saying THAT particular Custom. is too SIMPLE to have won. My opinion.

I could care less about customization price, be it NC or NP. All I care about is that it looks good. Personally, I don't like it because it looks like you just threw random snow related items up there.

This! This sums up what I think. That's what I mean by too simple. Okay, there's a theme going on, but... it doesn't quite fit as a whole.

Those are rather mean-spirited things to say (in addition to the above, your title suggests they won due to "no taste" or "pure luck"). I'm sure the owner spent time and worked hard on the customization, and was very happy to have won. I hope he or she doesn't see this thread.
