The_Warblers
So, I basically have 2 suggestions for the forum 1. Have a box of "10 newest posts" along with box for "Newest topics" like we are having now 2. Set default notifications for all options in the profile. Like "when someone quotes my reply" .... I just have to go to my settings to turn on notifications. I think all newbie members need it too, so why don't turn them on by default? maku
I've been here for a very very long time. The forums is working just FINE and GREAT just the way it is now. It's just a matter of familiarizing yourself and asking for help if you are a newbie here. jurassicshark, The Bandit and Mouseykins

I had a bit of trouble when I was new. I wasn't understanding why I didn't get any notifications. :laughingsmiley: Ten newest instead of 5 newest would be cool too. :) lilllisan
Xepha
You do know that you can go to "View New Content" to see everything new? My own preferences would be not the be notifed for stuff I have not opted in if I was a newbie. The forums is working just FINE and GREAT just the way it is now. It's just a matter of familiarizing yourself and asking for help if you are a newbie here. It's great, I think so too. But everything can be improved You do know that you can go to "View New Content" to see everything new? My own preferences would be not the be notifed for stuff I have not opted in if I was a newbie. Well, but I think "someone quoted you" is more important than "someone liked your posts". And yet, some emailing options are default. I think people prefer to be notified here than to have emails sent to their address
Xepha
The old topics with new replies are included in the View New Content options ;) Just give it a try, it works great and you can filter it by topics you have been participating in. This. I also can easily find new replied since I toggle each subforum as read (I click the orange button beside it on the home page, and it gets rid of unread notifications for topics). So when that button turns orange again, I know that there is a new reply to something. I've got to say though, I'm glad that notifications weren't just set to on for me when I started, though I wish I had found them a little earlier. Finn the Human
I got used to the forums itself. :) I don't use new content because I forget but when I did it was helpful.
The Bandit
In the nicest possible way, my suggestion for the forum might be to calm down a bit and not post a new random topic every ten minutes... maku, Finn the Human, Rebecca~ and 2 others

April
Whoa. I missed something. I had no idea you could alter the notifications. I was forever annoyed by the emails and always looking to see if people responded to me. I've updated them now. :D

Thanks for pointing this out Xepha. I've been on these forums for awhile now and I never even thought to hit the "view new content" button. /facepalms. In the nicest possible way, my suggestion for the forum might be to calm down a bit and not post a new random topic every ten minutes... I tend to agree a bit, but also in the nicest possible way. I hope you don't stop posting because of this though as you have made a lot of new and interesting topics here on the boards. :) Maybe just try to limit yourself to posting a new topic once every 5 hours or so. Don't worry. I don't take this personally at all. Because I do admit that I was a bit excited with a new & cool forum ;) I will just chill out a bit The Bandit and Finn the Human
