Need a guide

Hi guys, I am looking for a guide that tells you how rare the NC mall items are. I was nmed by someone looking to trade for one of my bg's and so I traded them and then found out that the bg was really rare and I couldve gotten a lot more for it. Anyone know a good guide? I dont wanna get swindled again.

Those pages just tell you rarities and whatnot. What Gnome (hehe :3) was looking for was guides to actual worth when trading with other users, which is measured in Capsules.

 

I had a look around for another guide but I think Lindsey pretty much covered it :)

aww hun i'm so sorry to hear that! :( *hugs* by the way i'm that random TDNer who popped in to say hi to you.

 

the guides aren't perfect, they are run by NCers and i know both owners work very hard on the guides, but if it isn't on there, don't be afraid to make a fair trade board and ask the NC chat. generally people are more than happy to contribute an opinion. filigrees chooses not to list some very common 1 cap items because the guide would be too long then, and neither guide will list currently "buyable" items.

 

Capsule (a NC guild) is also working on a value guide but its still a work in progress as of this moment and is not fully up yet.

for other people, i'll give a brief-ish (i'm not good at brief) explanation about what we are talking about. NC stuff is just weird.. and it took me a long time when i started with it to fully understand it all. lost_account is correct that they are all the same TNT listed rarity, but although all NC items have a rarity of 500 some are rarer than others, and "trade" for a higher value of items.

 

for example the Attack of the Revenge BG was originally 200NC but was only on sale for about a week, ages ago when not many people were into the NC mall. as such its really quite rare and worth alot to people who want it. its never been re-released either.

 

so.. it goes for roughly 200-250 "caps" worth of items. other items which are readily available for aaaagggggeees are worth much less. like Rainbow of Petpets Tree which is a recentish retired Wonderclaw item, lots of people have it, but its popular, and was not always easy to get. so its about 2 caps worth.

 

a "cap" or capsule value is what people use to quantify item value. its usually defined by most NCers as anything that fits in a single gift box, or in NC worth 150-250NC depending on your trader.

 

Value is not just in "cap" worth. items like Bogshot BG *rare but ugly* rarely go for full value, it may be valued at 30 caps but depending on what the items being traded are it will go for less. like Thought bubbles. rare and often worth alot, they can trade for 1-50 caps depending on traders, they are really of interest only to collectors.

 

items like Pink Lulu contacts which are in high demand, nearly always trade at full value for custom/items

 

some items which are often re-released in capsules/events may have their value change over time, items can go up and they can go down. only items currently not-re-released (TNT CAN change this but so far this is true) are Superpack exclusives (the special item you get for buying the whole Superpack), NC Collectible items (that go in your NC Collectors Album) and SuperSale items (items permanently retired from the mall).

 

TNT have re-released Game Prizes (see the Jubjub Powerbounce suitcases) and Event Prizes (see retro tickets for GMC). so far Wonderclaw hasn't re-released but i won't put it past them.
