Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I wish it'd get hot sooner here. I'm tired of being cold and having to scrap my car at 6am. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 D: I know the feeling! At least we get Chinooks here though...breaks the cold spells up a bit. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Chinooks? -puzzled- I wish it'd get a little bit colder here. It's just not right for it to be warm on Christmas morning. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 A chinook is a weather phenomenon that occurs only in mountainous area's. It is caused by a ridge of high pressure warm air that causes everything to warm up to a few degrees above freezing long enough for everything to melt in time for the next snowfall....and they give migranes to weather-sensitive people. Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 You would think we'd usually have snow on Christmas here, but we don't. Now Halloween, that's another matter. Lots of storms on Halloween. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Remind me not to live there, then. Lol, Spritzie. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 What? You don't want to have to make room in your costume for a winter coat? :laughingsmiley: But the Fray is from Colorado. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 XD I know that! No snow on christmas but EVERY year on Halloween! Yay for the mountain effect eh Spritzie? Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Oh definitely. Nothings more fun that trudging through snow way too early in the year and too late in it. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I dunno 'bout that...the migranes are LOADS of fun too.... Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I always have migraines or a headache, so I don't notice it. But it messes with your joints here, since the weather is all over the place. Snow in the morning, 70 degrees by noon. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Same here, we have a saying in my city, "Don't like the weather? Wait ten minutes" Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Exactly. That's the saying here as well. I almost feel bad for the meteorologists on the news. Quote
Seliphra Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Same :( We can never trust what they say, and it's not their fault either Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 The ones here do pretty good. They're accurate a good amount of the time, which isn't easy here. I admit, I laugh when they say it's going to be a big storm and we have little to no snow. Quote
Sofa Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 That's better than saying there's not going to be a storm then there being a huge one! There's a pretty infamous incident from something like 1987 here in Britain where a poor weather guy did exactly that...it was the worst storm for something like 200-300 years. Bet he felt silly afterwards! Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 :laughingsmiley: I image he did. I can't remember anything like that. I'm sure it's happened at some point, but when, I don't know. Quote
Sofa Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I feel I ought to point out that I wasn't alive then to remember it, lol! Must happen quite a lot though, like you say. Quote
Spritzie Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 :laughingsmiley: I was alive in 87. I would have been 2, so even if it had been in the news... for obvious reasons, I wouldn't have heard of it. Quote
rugrat0ne Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Thanks, guys. Now I feel really old! Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Spritzie I love your siggy. -nodnod- Thank you for the complement *is the one who made it* Bugs are gross. :P I wish there was somewhere bug-free to live. Thank you :D I've had plenty of cold this winter to rant about. And just think, we sometime get snow into May and June. I wish that too. Bugs are a disgrace, and don't deserve to live. And the law takes effect again! Quote
Unstream Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Yeah, nevermind that bugs balance the ecosystem and function as a vital part to our world. We should just get rid of them all :P Quote
Divya Bean Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Now I know what to use in the event that you annoy me. :P Shaddup. :P About the bugs, :sick01: . Except for butterflies. Butterflies are pretty. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I like moths better than butterflies. Not sure why. Quote
The Score in Blue Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I hate bugs but I like butterflies. They're cute. Moths are ugly. Quote
