Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I don't recommend trying it out. I can't imagine it would taste good. Quote
Wembly Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Haha, too funny. It that conversation reminded me of that stone soup story they always tell to kids. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Yes but my extremely curious nature is compelling me to go get some rocks from the front yard and a cup filled with root beer... Stone soup story? Tell. :O Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Haha, too funny. It that conversation reminded me of that stone soup story they always tell to kids. I was thinking the same thing. I almost said it, but could remember where I heard it from. (Oh, and the "On the rocks" iced Starbucks thing did actually happen to me.) Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I'm not sure why, but I feel the need to mention that fudge soaked in rum is quite possibly the worst tasting thing ever. I had it once but I didn't know it had been soaked in rum. I took a bite and threw it away. And i'm not sure how but I think it was tied to the headache I had an hour later... Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Somehow... that just doesn't sound like it tastes good. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It wasn't... -shudders at the memory- So... How has everyones day been? Quote
Wembly Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 So this is the stone soup story as told by wikipedia since I was too lazy to type it all. We were always told the story with animals as the main characters but none the less, the same principals apply. Some travelers come to a village, carrying nothing more than an empty pot. Upon their arrival, the villagers are unwilling to share any of their food stores with the hungry travelers. The travelers fill the pot with water, drop a large stone in it, and place it over a fire in the village square. One of the villagers becomes curious and asks what they are doing. The travelers answer that they are making "stone soup", which tastes wonderful, although it still needs a little bit of garnish to improve the flavor, which they are missing. The villager does not mind parting with just a little bit of carrot to help them out, so it gets added to the soup. Another villager walks by, inquiring about the pot, and the travelers again mention their stone soup which has not reached its full potential yet. The villager hands them a little bit of seasoning to help them out. More and more villagers walk by, each adding another ingredient. Finally, a delicious and nourishing pot of soup is enjoyed by all. Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 :laughingsmiley: That's right. I remember it now. My day has been okay. I have 20 minutes left of work, then I get to go sit at my husband's work until he gets off 3 hours after I do. o_O Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hm, never heard that one before. :O Lol... Have fun. xD -throws a book at you- Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I don't remember where I heard it, but I remember it. Pffft. I'll probably go play Bejeweled. Quote
Wembly Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 3 hours of bejeweled? o_O That is a lot of bejeweled. I'm kind of sleepy but 900 is a bit early to fall asleep for the night. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It sounds vaguely familiar to me but I don't think i've ever actually heard the story, just the name. What's bejeweled? xD Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 It's a matching game, like Sutek's Tomb, but with jewels. It's a huge thing apparently. I'd never played it until it was a trial game on my new laptop. I've done it before, when the internet wasn't working. I'll have to decide, Bejeweled, or Internet. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Internet. I'll be so bored without anyone online. xD Quote
Wembly Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Personally I say internet, at least for part of them time. I think you will be seeing jewels floating around in your sleep if you spend 3 hours at it. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Video game dreams are there to let you knowwhen it's time to put downthe controller/laptop. I had a dream about football last night after playing the Madden game for 8 hours. ... ... I have a problem. Quote
Wembly Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Wow, that's a lot of Madden. I'm dumb and find it hard to follow the concepts of football so it always astounds me when people are entranced by sports for that long. Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 You know I wouldn't pass up a chance to be here. I choice internet. But I stayed after work and talked, so now I only have about 2 hours until he gets off work. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 New York(I have like 4 really close friends in NY that I wanna visit.) Am I one of them? Or me mentioning this will make you say 5? :P Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 No. Two DC friends and an FLer that I mainly talk to on Neo. Although the FLer is a HAMS member, and come to think of it I think the 4th is too. What was his- or actually I think it's a her, name again? Something that starts with a C... Aw, who cares? :P Lol, I have fun making plays more than anything... xD YAY! -high5s Spritzie- Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 This was productive too. I made around 20k while I was here. Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Lol, I make all my np from the Stocks. Too lazy to play games and I prefer dealing with buying and selling instantly, anyway. Quote
Spritzie Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I can't do the stock market. I'm nowhere near patient enough. I sell too quickly. Where as my husband, he checked his last night, he had one up 250%, one up 150%, and one up 60% o_O Quote
-Ryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Lol, I used to be that way. Once you get to the point where you have over 100k stocks though, it's easier because usually something is always atleast close to being in sell range. Quote
