Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I didn't pay attention to the gas prices. I do remember the crazy prices and lines at gas stations, right after it happened. Let's see... in 2001, I would have been... 16. I wasn't at school. I remember waking up to a message from my sister's friend and my grandma, telling us to turn on the TV. We saw the replays and my sister started crying. She was pretty sure the world was ending. And we had to call my dad, because he was off work, and on his way to ride his bike on some trails on the local Air Force base. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I don't pay attention to the gas prices unless they make a HUGE jump. My grandma picked me up and it turns out that someone had robbed her house when she was gone all day. They never caught the culprit. That's terrible. I'm sorry. Quote
Noog Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It did lead to a war, didn't it? The US isn't at war with anyone. If it was war, things would be completely different. Most people don't understand exactly what war is. Quote
Unstream Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 We're at war. Technically, we're not, because Senate didn't declare it, but it's still war. The Senate hasn't declared war since WWII. The thing that bothers me the most about this whole thing is the anti-Muslim mentality that developed because of it. Once, there were twp Muslim women both dressed in a chador and a hijab. They had "briefcases" on their laps (which ended up just being purses) and one was texting throughout the whole movie. Some people freaked out because they thought those two women were terrorists planning to bomb the theater or something. Their actions were extremely suspicious, after all </sarcasm> Quote

That is where people took it TOO far. I have Muslim neighbors, and they're very nice. What, we're going to fear them now too? Quote
livvy Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Yes, don't you know they're planning to blow up your neighborhood? /heavy sarcasm I agree, Will. The anti-Muslim thing is ridiculous. But that's human nature for you. One attacks, all are suspect. Different is dangerous. Quote
Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 *Pounces Livvy* Hands her some Moose Tracks. :) I understand people being more cautious maybe, but being leery of a whole race/religion is ridiculous. Quote
livvy Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 *is pounced upon* Hey Spritz. ^_^ *accepts Moose Tracks gratefully* I'm not totally back yet; I just had a bit of free time today. About to leave and do Physics. Or... I could stay here and do Physics. ^^ Quote
Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Somehow, Physics doesn't sound like much fun. But at least you have some Moose Tracks to snack on while you work on it. Quote
-Ryan Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Yay! Hi Livvy. ^^ Too many people have been innactive lately, me being one of them. :crying: Hm... Eating moose tracks? Is there an inside joke somewhere in there or am I just clueless? Quote
Noog Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's an inside thing from the place where those people go. It's a flavor of ice cream. *Playing WoW* Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Too many people have been innactive lately, me being one of them. :crying: Same here. Dad will be taking away my laptop, and he will be disconnecting my games for the week because of school. *playing Brawl* Quote
Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Moose Tracks is an ice cream flavor. One of our favorites. :) I've been pretty inactive, for me, the last week, since we've been moving into our new place. I'm finally back to work like normal. Quote
livvy Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Moose Tracks is an amazing and delicious ice cream. We aren't like picking up moose tracks out of the ground and eating them. :P I actually enjoy Physics. Physics with Moose Tracks is just 3x better. :D Quote
-Ryan Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Seriously? -calls ice cream shop- Do you have moose tracks there? -silence on other end of line then a click- Hello? Aw, that sucks. D: TYLER YOU BETTER NOT BE GONE TOO! D: We aren't like picking up moose tracks out of the ground and eating them. :P That's what I pictured in my head. xD Quote
jumpingbeans Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hey, what about my ice cream? I like ice cream! And good luck with physics, livvy. Quote
Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Some actual ice cream shops have it. (Like a family owned place in Florida) But mostly, it's carried in grocery stores. And drug stores. At least here. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I think I actually have that flavor in my freezer I'll go check. *runs to freezer to check* Nope, it's fudge brownie. Close enough. Quote
Spritzie Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 For once, we actually have some at home. I haven't had any in months. I guess I just haven't been craving ice cream. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I'm sure I've had it before, and it was really good. Quote
Spritzie Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Nothing can be better than vanilla ice cream, fudge, and peanut butter cups. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Ryan: do you still go on ikariam? And spritzie: MMMMMM!!!!!! Quote
-Ryan Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Yup. Mainly on Alpha server though. So, how is everyone doing today? :) Quote
Divya Bean Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Hi everyone! I'm doing good and I am on that schnazzy IP Board app on my iTouch. Oohlala. Quote
Spritzie Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I'm good. But tired, as usual. Almost off of work. We finally moved in the new place. (Kind of) Quote
