CAV of Gang Green Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 That part is true. But this means you also can't taste awesome things like ice cream, candy, or pizza. Quote
livvy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Like cooked carrots. :sick01: They're just too mushy. I don't like tomatoes in any form. They're one of the few fregetables that I can say I honestly don't like. Quote
Noog Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Tomatoes are fruit, Livvy :P The ongoing argument about tomatoes continues. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I always thought of tomatoes as a vegetables, but I couldn't care less. Tomatoes are food. End of story. Done. Let's move on with our lives. Quote
livvy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 They always show up in the vegetable category of the cheesy food pyramids they showed us as kids! They must be vegetables. D= But given that the definition of fruit is the part of the plant that stores the seeds, then tomatoes must be fruit. So if tomatoes must be fruits, and tomatoes must be vegetables, the only logical conclusion is that they are fregetables. :P Quote
Noog Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Nevermind. I realized that corn is also a tolerable cooked vegetable. Are beans vegetables? Those are good too. Quote
livvy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Corn would be intolerable uncooked. One of the few. Beans are technically legumes. They're not vegetables because they're not "other parts" and they're not fruits because they're not the part that holds the seed. They are themselves the seeds. Quote
Noog Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Legumes, whatever. Peanuts/beans can be vegetables if they want to :P Quote
livvy Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Haha. :P Baby bean: Mama, I wanna be a vegetable when I grow up! Mama bean: I'm sorry dear, you're a legume. Baby bean: But I wanna be a VEGETABLE!! Noog: Okay, you can be a vegetable. :D Baby bean: Yay! EDIT: Oy, reading that now, I realize that I'm just not that funny (or awake) at 3 in the morning. xP Bed time for Livvy. 'night all! Quote
Domino Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I enjoyed that, Livvy. I've always wondered what was going on with beans. Quite an odd fruit/vegetable/legume. I associate them with the little poem. Beans, beans, the magical fruit. the more you eat, the more you toot the more you toot, the better you feel, so lets have beans at every meal!! Maybe that's why I kind of associated beans with fruits, even though they definetly DONT go together. (wow. I'm glad I make sense today. NOT) Quote
antiaircraft Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Since when did the off-topic board become a scientific classification centre? :P Incidentally, my little brother absolutely hates tomatoes - he can't eat them no matter what. Oddly enough, he doesn't mind tomato sauce. xD Quote
Unstream Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Haha yeah, strangely, I know a lot of people like that. They hate tomatoes but then always smother their fries and stuff in ketchup. Yeah, tomatoes and cucumbers and stuff like that are considered fruits, but they're used as vegetables during cooking. Last I checked too, corn isn't a vegetable. It's a grain :P Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I don't care what anybody says, tomatoes are cucumbers are scientifically fruit, not vegetables or legumes. And by the way, legume is french for vegetable. Quote
ΩCCΩ Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I love almost all fruits and vegetables, but at the same time I like everything to be in its place. Examples include putting pineapples in fruit or eating it alone but NOT as a topping for pizza. XD Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I don't even like pineapples...but I do love pizza Quote
Wembly Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Most vegetables and fruits taste badly cooked. Tomatoes are one of the only exceptions. Unless you are like me and manage to be allergic to the skins/outsides of most fruits and vegetables so if I want to eat them I have to cook them. So clearly I enjoy them cooked. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I didn't know it was possible to be allergic to fruit and vegetables peelings! Quote
-Ryan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I hate most red berries, vegtables(spelling?), and fruits. I like apples though. Quote
ΩCCΩ Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I hate red apples, too sweet for me. I love pineapples though. :D Quote
-Ryan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I can't stand pineapple. Bleh. Even pineapple flavored stuff is extremely gross to me. o.o Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I used to like green apples, but I started to get eye irratation. I'm sure it's not an allergy, but it still hurts like heck. I eat red apples now. Pineapple soda is good. Everything else pineapple is gross. I love green grapes. So sour....so good.... Quote
ΩCCΩ Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 *eye twitches* Hate. Sour. Grapes. I like pineapples but not pineapple flavored stuff cuz it tastes so bad. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I love sour grapes. :O Random, but I just almost killed my character in a game. Note to self, stop jumping off of guard towers. There are other ways to escape. Quote
ΩCCΩ Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Like using a parachute? Which game consoles do you have? I have a gameboy advance (pink, used to be a pink freak), a lilac PSP and a PS2. Quote
-Ryan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 No. I just used the ladderand got up onto the roof of a guard tower then jumped off. I'm playing Morrowind on a regular X-box. :P Ever heard of this game or Oblivion? :O And I have an X-box, DS, and Wii. :P Quote
