Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 People that are amazing, don't always get the attention they deserve. One of my favorite artists is Brendan James. He's a piano player, that does "folk" music. It's amazing. He has a great voice, he's an amazing piano player, a really great person, and yet, his following isn't that big. (He's bigger on the east coast.) He told me his concerts in the west, would be a couple hundred people, where as, his east coast would be much bigger. Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Yes, there are a lot of people like that. I am going to look up this Brendan James guy... Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I had a friend I was telling I was going on the Mayercraft Carrier last year. (The John Mayer concert cruise) And he told me he'd read one of his favorite artists (Brendan James) was going to be there, and asked me to get a CD signed if I could. So I did. I ended up getting us both signed CDs. I ran into him almost every day of the 4 day cruise. I have pics from 3 days. :laughingsmiley: The first one was taken on my cell phone because my dad had the cameras. His drummer took the picture. Quote
Wembly Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 What color looks good next to blue? Orange or green? or something else... Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Green or purple always look really nice with blue. Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Spritzie! That is so cool!!! I wanna see John Mayer. I love him. And I think that Orange also goes really well with Blue. As do the above mentioned colors. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Orange and blue? That's too Bronco-ish. John Mayer is a favorite too. I've been to see his concerts every year since 2003. I wanted to see him twice this year, since we went in March, and he would be back Sept. 1. But we're going to be too busy moving. :( Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I think it looks nice, because they are opposites. But only if it is a nice orange and blue. ^_^ Really?! That is so cool! I have never been to one of his concerts, but I would love to go to one! And you are moving! :O Where?! Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Just closer to work. I have to drive 30 minutes to get to work, and home. It's just too far. When my friend asked me to go in 2003, I said no. But she had an extra ticket, so I ended up going. And I became addicted. It became a yearly tradition for the 4 of us, though it slowly went down to me going with my dad, or other friends. Quote
Luciana Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Orange and blue is good if you want to make something pop out. ~completely ignoring music discussion~ Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Did somebody say something about music? I say the Beatles! Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Ohhh. I thought that you were moving to another state or something! And thats nice. I never really go to concerts. I am not sure why... Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 My mom's health is too bad to leave. My dad has been working really long hours, and other than me, the closest family is 2 hours away. Pretty much, John Mayer is all I've gone to in the last few years. Though if Brendan James, Colbie Caillat, or Jason Mraz come by any time when I can go, I would definitely go. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Now how does Justin Beiber become so huge when there are people like this girl? http://www.youtube.com/user/miaarose Dang. :O Awsome voice, much better than Justin Beiber, but you don't see her everywhere you go like you do with him. =/ Another good person you don't hear much about is Hayley Westerna. She helped create the soundtrack for Endless Ocean. Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Spritzie - That is awful! I am so sorry. :sad01_anim: I love all three of them and I would be SO happy to be able to go to one of their concerts! And CAV, that was a really nice song! Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 CAV, that was a really good song. And Spritzie, I'm sorry about you're mom :( What bands are you talking about? Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 She just has a lot going on now, bad knees, on oxygen 24/7, she uses a walker at home now, bad hips, diabetes, she has a pre-cancerous tumor on her femur. I want to be close by. Like, I get books for her from the library, and I'll drop them by after work, sit and have a chai with her. She's been kinda lonely since Dad's been in Alaska. (But she won't admit it.) They're amazing. I've seen Colbie a couple times. She was on the first cruise. Then she opened for John Mayer the following year. She's amazing. I love her voice. I missed Jason Mraz twice. The year JM and Colbie were at the Mile High Music Festival (It's a 2 day thing), Jason Mraz was there Saturday. I didn't realize it, so I got tickets for Sunday, for JM. Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Oh my goodness! That sounds terrible! But you are really sweet to be doing those things for her. ^_^ You have been to so many cool concerts! I is jealous! Quote
livvy Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 @Spritzie: Panera? Gosh, you really are me but older! Also, I'll be praying for your mother, if that's okay. :( Mia Rose is really good. I just watched the music video for Let Go, and it's every bit as amazing as normal professional music videos. Wow. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Oh crap I didn't notice Sprizie's post. I feel so terrible now. I am so sorry. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Why can't we talk about lions or something. I have no idea what's going on. :eh: Quote
Divya Bean Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Mia Rose is so good. I agree with livvy that her music videos are so professional! She should be the new Justin Bieber. Quote
Spritzie Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Oh my goodness! That sounds terrible! But you are really sweet to be doing those things for her. ^_^ You have been to so many cool concerts! I is jealous! Mom and I were always close. We'd go shopping all the time. Driving 2 hours, just to go to the mall. :laughingsmiley: I've been trying to go spend Wednesdays with her, since I get off work at 1. @Spritzie: Panera? Gosh, you really are me but older! Also, I'll be praying for your mother, if that's okay. :( I love Paneras. It's an addiction. We go there to use the internet, get some bread, or soup. And sit and drink for awhile. It's great. That's probably where we'll end up later this afternoon. And thank you :) I appreciate it. Oh crap I didn't notice Sprizie's post. I feel so terrible now. I am so sorry. That's okay CAV. Things move quickly here and things get missed. :) Quote
jumpingbeans Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I'd feel horrible if one of my family members was that sick. P.S. CAV I'm watching discovery now. Sharks is half-hour :) Quote
-Ryan Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 A, i'm really sorry about that Spritzie. :( I don't wanna talk about lions. How about squirrels instead? :O Also, this is random and I doubt many will know what i'm talking about but i'm happy right now because AVID didn't get cancelled due to funding issues like they were talking about last year. ^^ Quote
