Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 You had Legos, I had Hot Wheels. Those little cars made me so happy. *still has a collection* Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I had a sister 3 years older. We used to play Legos with my dad all the time. (I think my dad was more into the Legos than we were.) Whatever he built, you could bet your most prized possession that it would have wheels. lol Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Haha. Legos are cool. I personally liked the people the best. Speshelluh the Darth Vader one. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I had a Duplo set when I was younger. Those were my favorite people. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Duplos were pretty cool. Honestly, my favorite part was decapitating them and switching around their bodies. :/ Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 lol I liked building 3 level houses. I'd build a cool Lego one... then I'd try to save it for as long as possible before it got broken. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Before someone sat on it? That's what always had a tendency to happen. Even if it was up on a shelf. Somehow, it got sat on. Don't ask me how it happend. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Once, when I was home sick from school in Elem. School... my mom and I spent ALLLLL DAY building a 550 piece puzzle. (It was of Minnie and Mickey dressed in their Brave Little Tailor outfits.) We were going to use that puzzle glue on it, then frame it and hang it on my bedroom wall. We had it sitting on a table. I set a bag on it that night, then I had to get up in a hurry... pulled the bag off... and yeah. There went that. It took us half of a day to rebuild it. But we safely got it glued, framed, and hung on the wall. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 That's so cool. I've never heard of puzzle glue. Though I guess it would make sense. But it kinda defeats the purpose of the puzzle. :P Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Some people buy them for decoration. That's the only one I've ever done that to. But there was 1 I almost did. my mom got me a really small puzzle once, from one of her favorite artists, that had a young girl sitting on a throne that said "The Princess of Quite A Lot" I loved that. lol My husband and I are working on a 2000 piece. We're taking a break because it's too big too build right now. We don't have a big enough flat surface. It's of a European Castle. When we finish it, we'll glue it, frame it, and hang it in the living room. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Now I'm gonna have to do that. My favorite puzzles were... one of a bunch of antique toys, the harry potter ones, and this Wicked Witch of the West one from the Wizard of Oz movie. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I loved puzzles. In Kinder. grade here, when I went to school, it was half days. Mornings class... or afternoon. I had afternoon, so my mom and I played games and did puzzles before school every day. I used to have a lot of the 100 piece Disney ones. I want to try the huge M&M one of the Blue guy. He's laying in a sea of M&M's. That has to be a nightmare to figure out. lol Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Ahaha. Probably. My head hurts just imagining trying to figure out that one. Lol. The last puzzle I did was a 'That's so Raven' one when I was helping out at my church. :laughingsmiley: Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 My mom and I had methods figured out. We divided them into center and edges. Then she put together the edges, I did the center. But with something with a lot of similar colors, all over.... no way. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Plus there's so many pieces. And...wow. A lot. *mind boggled* Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Some people thrive on that stuff. That would just give me a migraine, most likely. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Agree. I mean, I guess if you wanted a challenge, than that kind of puzzle is what you'd want to do? Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I've known people like that. I like things to be hard enough to be challenging, but not so hard it's impossible and makes me crazy. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Haha. There is a fine line between challenging-fun, and insane-enough-to-make-you-go-crazy fun. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It takes all kinds I guess. I had a nightmare the night that the puzzle broke. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Awwww. :( I've had nightmares over that stuff. I once broke my sister's soccer "participation" trophy on accident. She got SOOO mad. >> :grrr: = her. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 It didn't help that that night, I'd pet a friend's pet iguana. (I hate reptiles) I had a nightmare that I spilled a glass of water of a puzzle I was building (it was a puzzle with a ton of iguanas on it) and they came to life and chased me. lol I screamed in my dream, then woke up to my dad shaking me. I guess I screamed out-loud. Quote
Domino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 That is a REALLY scary dream. I don't like reptiles either. Haha. That reminds me. I was up in Tahoe, and this girl had an IGUANA on a LEASH, and she was taking it in the lake with her. It was one of the oddest things I've ever seen. And it was pretty gross. Quote
ΩCCΩ Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Iguanas look cute...in pictures :D. I love tough puzzles, the tougher and more mind boggling they are the better. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I had a pet turtle for awhile. (Her name was Murtle.) My parents took our family to New York, when I was 7, and on the streets in China Town, they were selling those tiny turtles (That are illegal in most states now, because of the bacteria they can carry.) I begged and begged for one, but my parents said no. They said we could see about getting one when we got home. (Which never happened.) But one day, we looked outside while watering the lawn... and there was a turtle on the lawn. We kept her for awhile. We used to let her swim in the bath tub. (She loved that.) And we'd tie a bandana around her (to make her visible) and let her roam the backyard. We even took her for walks. (Slowly, of course.) lol It was great fun. I have a harness and leash for my cat, but he's not a walker. My parents have him right now, and they fence him in on the side porch and let him have little "Walk-Abouts". My sister's cat (The one in my avvie) He's a walker. He loves being taken outside on a harness and leash. But he's a little crazy. lol Quote
