Hang Out and Post

Rootbeer is completely non-alcoholic, just like ginger ale. (Ginger ale USED to be alcoholic though; they'd keep it on boats and make seasick sailors drink it because it would calm their stomachs. ... Random historical tidbit.) They're also both really good!

EDIT: Woah, why'd it double post?? Oops. I don't know how I managed to do that...

I prefer Coke to Pepsi, but both are okay. Hot cocoa is my favorite drink of all time though. :D It's so warm...

(Really sorry about that double post, mods. I must've accidentally double-clicked.)

It should be alright. It's not like you were intending to spam or anything.

But Pepsi is sweeter than Coke, which is why I like it more. And I've never been a fan of hot drinks. Especially not coffee. They always seem to make me thirstier.

I don't like coffee either. And it doesn't like me. At all. :sick01:

But I love hot chocolate on cold days! And on sad days. It kinda warms you up inside and makes you feel a little better about whatever's happening outside. Or it does for me anyway. My mum always says hot chocolate fixes everything. I think she's right. =]

I agree with Stephanie, I'd rather have water than most drinks.

And the only thing I hate about soda is that if you drink it all really quickly, you get that fizzy feeling in your nose and it kinda hurts a little lol.

And I do like hot chocolate, it's just that after I'm done drinking it, I always feel like I need a good cup of ice cold water.

Water is definitely the best when it comes to just being thirsty. Hot cocoa is a comfort drink for me.

@Unstream: Doesn't that defeat the purpose of drinking the warm drink in the first place?

I second Will's question: What's a pavalova?

What's a paralova? I don't think I've heard of it before.

A pavalova (or is it pavlova? I'm not so sure XP) is a New Zealand iconic cake. I find it too sweet for my liking.

There was a little debate that the Australians invented it but I believe that we were the ones who did. :king:

Ohh... Hey, I've heard of that! I think I watched something about it on the Food Network... I don't remember much about it. I just remembered they described it as a sweet cake.

As for the Obama question: I don't think it'll last very long if it does manage to stimulate it. All that money has to come from somewhere, which will either put us deeper in debt or devalue the dollar. Bad situation all around.

Its just a cake that we're well known for. Like our iconic bird is the kiwi (there are more but that's the most known one)

I'm not the economic type of person. I'm aiming to study that at college though (your term of highschool?)

But wouldn't the money come from banks and taxes, therefore not devaluing the dollar? That's a good point though. I never thought of it that way. Too bad that point doesn't help the side I'm on lol.

And I don't think our highschools are what you mean by college.

How many years of Primary and Secondary school do you have? (It is primary and secondary, right?)

Oh, so it's like your state... cake. That sounds so odd. A state cake. *ahem* Anywho.

oh, you use the term college for high school? Cool!

No, it wouldn't come from taxes. He's lowering taxes, remember? Tax cuts. And the banks don't have that money either.

Sorry I'm not helping your case. =\

And then what happens after Secondary/Intermediate?

But it comes from the taxes saved up right? And income taxes from the rich.

And don't worry. The people I'm arguing with haven't questioned where the money is going to come from yet lol.

Saved up taxes? Ha, goodness no. All our taxes go somewhere; not to a saving pile. Most of them go to pay for things like schools and social services; then a little bit goes to some government people's pockets; and then the rest of it goes to various and sundry things, including paying off the national debt.

5 years of college and university for most. I think you start choosing courses at your second year of college? Not sure :/

My brother's at his last year of college and he wants to become a optometrist (taking optometry?)

Wow your schools are shorter than ours here in the US.

We first have 6 years of Elementary school.

Then 2 years of Middle school.

Then 4 years of High school.

Then an optional 4 years of college, though it's a lot more expensive.

And from there, you can go into further education. I forget the number of years though.

And depending where you live, you can have 5 years of Elementary school and 3 years of Middle school.
