Naamah D. Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I'm not gonna tell the whole story but is it hypocritical for someone with a disability not to sign petitions, help out, or even over-care about there disability? Quote
Angeló Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 no .. i don't think so ... what's hypocritical is to sign such a petition then act as if people with disabilities don't exist /// Quote

All because I have AS doesn't mean I'm all "Woohoo! Autism pride!!!!" but at the same time I'm not sulking in a corner and feeling sorry for myself because of my disability. I'm just choosing to not mind it too much. The stereotypes for women with my disability really irk me. Quote
xSummer Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 i don't think so at all. You can chose to take your disability and do what you want with it. Quote
inkt Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 It's their life, they can choose to do with it what they want. I'm an LGBT member and I normally just ignore those "hey, got a minute for gay rights?" people. Sometimes, you just want to get on with your day instead of worrying about things you can't really control. Quote
Yuika Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Absolutely not. Being a member of a group for reasons you can't control doesn't obligate you to fight their battles. Quote
