Lady Lyuba
The forums require Image URLs, something I don't quite understand. Does this mean I need to use an image hosting site? Photobucket doesn't work (it's evil), and I tried Imageshack and TDN doesn't like Imageshack, so can someone help me here? I want to add a picture of my Neopet to one of my posts to show a wearable on her, as well as having a signature and an avatar here on the boards. On my old account I remember being able to do that, (I think we could upload a file directly from our computer), but that was almost a year ago and I think things may have changed by now. Now it requres an image URL which I don't know how to work. Can someone help me please? Thank you.
hrtbrk
Photobucket and Imageshack will work when wanting to post an image on TDN or in a signture. Make sure you're copying the BBcode ([img]) and not the HTML code (<img>). On imageshack, all you need to do is paste in the FORUM CODE that they give ya! To add an avatar, all you need to do is add the direct link :)
Tedhaun
For posting images, I often use PictureToGo.com for my image hosting. They don't give you that bandwidth exceeded error that Photobucket gives you.
Syrin of Neopia
Also, if you are wanting to post a picture of your Neopet, you can right-click their picture on the quick reference page (or if it's your active pet, on the sidebar where it is always picture). Once you have right-clicked, select "copy image location" & paste that link where it asks for the url. This way you don't always have to upload the pic to Photobucket/Imageshack to show off your Neopet :)

I wouldn't have known how to do it otherwise! ...WAIT a minute, which browser do you use? I don't see "Copy Image Location" when I right click on the picture! Still need to know how to use Photobucket and Imageshack properly, never saw the coding to use. This post has been edited by a member of staff (Spritzie) because of a violation of the forum rules. I don't see "Copy Image Location" when I right click on the picture! It may show up as "Copy Image URL" if you use Google Chrome. If you use Internet Explorer, you'll need to right click on the picture and go to properties. From there you'll copy the "Address" link. About the avatar thing: Direct link from what? They give the appropiate codes so all you have to do is copy and paste.

Photobucket is just always down whenever I need it. :laughingsmiley: Also, it can delete pictures without your permssion or cause the "Bandwith Exceeded" stuff. Without one's own permisson. I simply find Photobucket rude, that's all.
hrtbrk
It doesn't delete anything unless it breaches their Terms of Service. The bandwidth exceeded will only happen if you go over their monthly bandwidth quota on a free account, which is unlikely to happen unless many people are linking your pictures (again, unlikely). I've got over 700 images on my photobucket and have yet to experience any bandwidth issues. They give you 10 gigs for free. Go wild.
