Cornflakes
Look what I snagged out of the pound just now - http://www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=I_luv_COOL_Koi Isn't she beauteous?! I can't believe someone would give up an Orange Koi! :) Have you had any happy pound grabs?
Sakurabelle
Awww, she's cute! I saw a striped skeith in the pound once. I was tempted to adopt him, because I thought the stripes were sort of cute but I figured he would have a better home with someone who likes skeiths better than me. The only pet I've adopted to keep for myself was a little red pteri. I adopted her because I thought her name was adorable, Pterialya. cute, right? :) Congrats on your find! Tedhaun
By the way, I was lucky enough to adopt an Orange Koi and a Cloud Kiko earlier this year. Who'd give up a Cloud Kiko with good statistics? :worried:
jesse_rocket
Oh wow, congratulations, she is lovely. I'm amazed anyone would give that up, especially since it was clearly made as a Koi, not just a lab zap that made the owner say "I HATE Kois, I can't stand to look at it a minute longer" or something. Wembly
not just a lab zap that made the owner say "I HATE Kois, I can't stand to look at it a minute longer" or something. Haha, that was amusing to read. I was actually kind of tempeted when my lab pet turned peophin. There is just something about a horse with a mermaid tail that creeps me out :guiltysmiley: but I hung in there since I picked the name out specifically for him to become a Lutari but thankfully he didn't last long as a peophin. But your new koi is super cute but oh my goodness, you have a garlic jubjub :woot: AWESOME! I am also dreaming of a garlic kiko.
Anime
Peophin are based on Hippocampus, mythical creatures that are half horse half fish. Aside from snagging some rather well named pets from the pound, I caught (forever ago) my Purple Jetsam Kimmopix. Never been sure why she was pounded, she's got ok stats and a good battle record. She was adopted long before transfers (going by her petpet's age, I've had her a little over 4 years), otherwise I'm sure she'd have been traded... VWN LE pet, after all. SlightlyCautious
I've never gotten anything good from the pound, but I'm waiting on the purge right now to get a certain name. Congrats on your koi!
Kuroida
we're having a purge? o.0 And congrats on the find! I can't believe someone would pound her. Orange pbs aren't cheap! (I should know. I"m saving up for one right now) :P The best thing I ever saw in the pount was a cloud ruki....not too fond of rukis or the cloud color so I passed. I don't visit the pound much anyways. I'm too picky with names
keithp
To be honest, as I zap pets and then pound them so other people can adopt them, people are VERY picky on neo. I have donated split, shadow, mutant, and darigan pets, and people told me the name doesnt fit the pet or they dont like the color. How can you be picky when you get a painted pet for almost nothing! Thank you! I know right! At first I thought maybe I intercepted an unsafe transfer. But I haven't received any Neomails, so... I think the Garlic Jubs are cuter than the Garlic Kikos. *eg* Aside from snagging some rather well named pets from the pound, I caught (forever ago) my Purple Jetsam Kimmopix. Their loss, your gain! I've never gotten anything good from the pound, but I'm waiting on the purge right now to get a certain name. Congrats on your koi! Thank you :) And uhhh, what's purge? I mean I know what the word 'purge' means but what is this process on Neopets? And congrats on the find! I can't believe someone would pound her. Orange pbs aren't cheap! (I should know. I"m saving up for one right now) :P The best thing I ever saw in the pount was a cloud ruki....not too fond of rukis or the cloud color so I passed. I don't visit the pound much anyways. I'm too picky with names Thank you! Yes, Orange PB is 550K roughly, combined with a LE pet...it's so weird to me that someone would pound her, but she's all mine now, yessss! I rarely ever visit the pound but there was another thread about abandoned Christmas pets so I decided to take a look. That's why I got so excited that I had to come running here and post it right after I got her. That kind of stuff NEVER happens to me! I know, the whole name thing is really weird to me. My Darigan Grundo, Cujo_08, was given to me by someone here at the forum. Did I care about the name?? Heck no!!!! He's the coolest Grundo EVER and he'll always be with me.
Kuroida
For me personally. The name is important because it helps prove that I am the pets creator (like a pride of ownership thing)....and it might also be that most of my names follow the same theme (all leters of the greek alphabet) except for my first pet (who's just special that way) :P If I had random names and random pets then it wouldn't follow the theme. @slightly cautious: I don't know if this is what's confusing you but if you meant "purge" as in when TNT will get rid of old neopets. That was just another thread made on here. It's highly doubtful that it will ever happen. Let alone any time soon....
hrtbrk
OT: The name/pet purge has been happening off and on for a few weeks now :P Congrats on the pound find! I've had some pretty good luck as well finding a sponge, zombie, desert, rainbow and snow (yay for the avatar) pets via the pound :D
Kuroida
seriously? well then my mistake. But seriously, why go through all the trouble? o.0 Today I found a christmas bruce in the pound...with no clothes...-_-

siemis
Oh she's so cute *_* Concratulations =D I was never so lucky to find a painted pet in the pound but I care more for the name as for the color...
Angeló
congratulations :) Orange PB is 550K roughly, combined with a LE pet...it's so weird to me that someone would pound her sorry to burst your bubble, but the Orange Koi morphing potion is 40k only on the shop wiz because the Wheel of Excitement gives it out (before it was petrified of course), so someone probably used it to get the Kauvara avatar then pounded the Koi for another owner who will give her a good home ... that would be you ... don't be discouraged though , a cool pet is a cool pet :)
Kuroida
oh...well whatever. To get a pet worth 40K for nothing is still pretty good either way right? :P

Guest Yoshinho
I found a Magma pet AND a Island pet in the pound. Took both in.
Spritzie
I found a Magma pet AND a Island pet in the pound. Took both in. I didn't realize you could now get Magma pets from the pound. Previously, they turned Red when you pounded them.

I never even thought of it. >>Loser

Cornflakes
I threw that koi back in the pound and created my own orange koi with a MUCH better name. LOL So much for celebrating.
