Neopoints v. items

Do you ever feel bad spending your hard-earned points? I have been hoarding them and now I'm trying to get avatars, but I find myself balking at buying items that are 100k (or more, obviously). I keep telling myself, once I get "x" amount of points, THEN I'll buy the item to get the avatar.....its not working... "x" is never enough!! :sad02:

Yes, especially since I mostly buy backgrounds and clothes. It wipes out my hard earned NP so quickly.

I'm so frugal on Neopets that I feel bad if I have to buy anything over 5K (the Bonju avatar totally wrecked my balance)! Nevertheless, I'm still planning on getting a Halloween PB so we'll see how that goes.

I think I spent under 2K for the avvie... I had a friend find me the Orange Juice and the Blumaroo Steak with the SSW. I then bought 'Gourmet Cooking For Your Pet' for about 600 NP at the Book Store in Neopia Central.

 

 

Overall, I have TONS of guilt when I spend my neopoints... though after 4.5 years on Neopets, you'd think that I'd have more than just 1.6 million neopoints! :P

I hoard NPs. I can't stand to buy anything. I think it's just because I like numbers. :P My goal is to get my account up to... whatever the highest one is. Ultimate Riches or something like that. Once I've done that, I'll totally drain it for avatars. Assuming I can't get them here, of course.

I'm pretty much the opposite of frugal, and I really don't care much about spending massive amounts of NP. xD So it's fortunate for my finances that I really don't have much I want to buy, and that most of my assets end up locked up in the stock market anyway.

 

Although I would feel a bit better if I managed to top a million NP worth of liquid assets sometime... (:

I used to have over 3 million neopoints but whittled most of it away on purchases I now regret. Bonju's the most I've ever paid for an avatar and will be the most I ever pay.

Yeah, most of my Neopoints are in the Stock Market, so I can't spend them. The only things I buy are PBs that I sniped to re-sell, a few chance games(I know they can't get me anything) and some Stocks.

I'm huge on saving NP like crazy. I will not spend any more NP than is needed. I usually don't even browse shops, except sometimes the Post Office... but if I buy any, it's from the NP I've made that day from games. I don't withdraw NP for it. I spend most of my time on Neopets, playing games. I'm saving for a Draik, and I'm just barely below 8 million. I'll probably hit it in the next day or two.

 

But then again, I do spend NP on my husband. Right after the AC ended, I bought him a Darigan PB. Then I bought him a Darigan petpet, and a couple other petpets. So I'm not as big as spending money on me.

Today: 10,949,645 NP

 

Then I think I'll be able to part with my np (hopefully)

 

edit: Thanks for the advice, though I knew it changed I didnt know it did so every day so thanks,but like most people I'm aiming for the "low" 5 million

I managed to get the Number Six avatar when it was just over 5.4 million. I don't know what your balance is, but I recommend checking daily. It's bound to go back into the 5-6 million range.

I love to browse and if there's a petpet I really want *coughyellowwerhond* then I have no regrets buying it (unfortunatly, there's always the problem of I never have enough money) -_- I'm not an avatar collector though so if I were to spend the same amount of money on avatars as petpets then I would definitely get buyer's remorse.

I'm fairly good at saving my neopoints, and I only get buyers remorse if it was an impulse buy that I know I'm going to regret later! I had no issues with the royal PB because I'd been desperate for one for ages, same with the fire PB!
