Midookami
I most definitely don't enjoy it when I'm already behind few keys and the other player keeps using negative power-ups on me. It's like rubbing salt on the wound, especially when most of those aggressive players quit when I use any negative power-up on them. I probably met only immature spoil sports, but it was still really annoying. I guess people like me (who feel personally insulted when people continue to use negative power-ups XD) are just better off playing with friends. Ashbash
I've never quit while playing. I've had internet trouble once or twice which closed out my game and I felt awful because I'm sure the people assumed I just quit. I hate when people quit because they aren't winning. It's the worst when you've spent all that time on a game and then don't get anything.
neen
i rarely get to play, and when i am able to, i get beat horribly or my computer freezes. once (just once) i was going to win from sheer luck cause i don't use negative power ups and the other person quit-
jlsn2002
I was just playing yesterday and was 4 squares from winning when the person I was playing against quit. Needless to say, I was very annoyed. I never ever quit. It's just very unfair to the person who's winning, and I would hate it if that happened to me too. For example, there was a game I was playing yesterday where it was sure I'd lose as I only had 2 keys and the other person already had all 5. It's not like I wouldn't get anything if I were to lose: for having fun playing a board game, I still get quite a bit of np and a nice key, so there's really no reason to quit, and it's just plain unfair to do so. Personally, I use negative power-ups only if the other player(s) is close to winning. I agree that it's not very nice to use negative power-ups on someone who is already lagging way behind. I've had that happen quite a few times, but then again, people have different views about it (viewing it from their perspective, it's just guaranteeing their win). That's my 2 cents worth anyway. :)
Drslothowns
Usually, when I use a key grabber on someone, or a power-up that is similar to that, they ditch me. It's annoying, really. I never quit a game.. The people who quit need to stop being sore losers.
Kex
I feel I should amend my previous post; I prefer to play all-out, but I have no problem doing a no-minigame or no-powerup game so long as the boundaries are hammered out before the game starts. If I'm doing a random game with a stranger I'm not going to pull my punches, but setting limits about what you agree to do or not to do is fine too. I won't pull an aggressive powerup on someone if we have agreed not to use them. This post brought to you by my accidentally annoying a KQ partner due to not being aware that a 'friendly' game means no powerups. XD She said it was fine when I apologized, but I still felt kind of bad. She was a great sport and didn't quit on me, though, which I did appreciate after the fact. Lepi
Not unless someone cheats. And I do mean CHEATS, not plays to win or plays "dirty". It annoys me to no end when someone leaves a game because I play a power up on them. It's happened many times that I will use a key grabber and suddenly POOF! Yes, it's a bit rude to play a totally unnecessary power up on someone, but unless you are literally 1 space in front of the door, anything can happen. If there is a possibility that I could lose if I DON'T play the power up, I play it. Quitting a game of keyquest is like...throwing the chess board up in the air because someone steals your queen. hrtbrk
Just a heads up, it looks like they're FREEZING quitters now, for cheating at KQ. I saw one or two mentions of it on the boards last night and a woman in another community today.
Lepi
Really? That's insane. It's annoying, but not really cheating. It doesn't seem like freezing someone for leaving the game would be fair, since it's pretty impossible to say for sure if they left on purpose. Fabala
I doubt they'd freeze someone for quitting for just a game or two, but if people have a history of leaving games early, then chances are they're quitting when they're not winning. It doesn't seem fair to be frozen because you have a slow computer...
Shane for Wax
None of my computers much like letting me play Keyquest, so I don't play it much. I also don't totally understand it. I'm kind of slow. :(
Ruto
o_O What if someone's computer is super laggy and the game keeps freezing on them? It doesn't seem fair to be frozen because you have a slow computer... I don't think TNT will freeze someone for quitting once or twice. If they do freeze people for quitting, it would have to be for quitting tons of times. And if your computer is always slow when playing KQ, it's generally a good idea not to play that game. hrtbrk
I'm not sure. There was a person on the boards that was complaining about it and they said that they don't quit but their computer does lag on some mini games. Someone messaged her after the game saying that they were going to report them for quitting, but before she could neomail back to explain that it was her computer, the other person had already blocked her. :( She also claimed that the game had just started and her first roll landed on a mini game. The other persons first roll landed her on the chest - so she got two keys. But still, it makes me nervous. The new fishing game always causes my comp to lock up, same with the spider one - and I have a brand new computer.
Queen Diva
Well it is infuriating when people drop out all the time, however I know how it goes because I always have issues of dropping out too or getting frozen and loosing turns until it throws me out or if someone lands on a mini-game then it's game over :( Dont' take it personally, sometimes people quit and sometimes it's not their fault. Usually I'll try to send a neomail explaining that my computer stuffed up but sometimes I just don't get their names. Don't let it get to you, not everyone is horrible to play with on KeyQuest :)
Masaryk
It seems that it is just a much better idea to play with friends, since TNT is now getting freeze-happy on Keyquest. I think that most people have trouble running Keyquest, no matter how good their computer is. I don't usually have problems with minigames freezing on me, but I'd now think twice about playing at all with strangers, since the game is so unstable. Maybe we need to have a better push for organizing games among members here, since I don't think that TDN regulars would be report-happy over laggy compuers. Queen Diva
yeah there's a good idea :) And no risk of getting frozen for computer issues! Although I do have to say I didn't realise that TNT were getting freeze-happy over KeyQuest, how could they when the game sucks to run? Sapphy the Swamp Witch
I (think I) only quit purposely once...and that was because I was too tired and really had to go to bed. Silver Keys are just as good as gold, I've received useless prizes from both. Yes, there's a chance of getting lab maps/paint brushes from gold keys, but the chance is pretty slim. It's not worth losing a silver key and wasting your time to try and get a gold one. One thing I do to try and stop the other person from quitting is to say 'don't give up' at the beginning of every game. Works majority of the time. :)
Masaryk
One thing I do to try and stop the other person from quitting is to say 'don't give up' at the beginning of every game. Works majority of the time. :) Hey, that's a pretty good idea! I never thought of doing that. Maybe it's kind of odd, but I don't really get too upset most of the time when people quit. I know that the game crashes a lot, and I've come to expect that many games just won't get finished because of that. I'm typically a very "nice" player, so I don't usually use negative powerups unless the other player uses them first, so people don't really have much incentive to quit when I'm playing with them. Lately, though, I've been have trouble even getting Keyquest to load. I can usually play one game, but when I try to load the game again, I can't click on any of the buttons. So, it's been a bit of a problem when people quit, just because I can usually only play one game. I've only had one annoying quitter in recent memory; they quit because they kept rolling badly. Seriously, if I quit every time I rolled badly, I'd probably only finish one in four games! Well, at least they quit before wasting too much time. Midookami
Key quest loads fine for me and all mini games are fine for me, too, but my computer tends to freeze for 3-5 seconds every once in a while. I really need to format my computer. XD I usually play with siblings or friends so they know why I'm suddenly not moving for few seconds... And very rarely, the computer freezes for so long that I'm kicked out of the game. XP I'd be dreadfully upset if I was reported and frozen for that, though... jlsn2002
Key quest works fine for me except for the spider mini game. For some strange reason, my spider can't pick up stuff and can't reach the bottom of the screen. Quitters are rather annoying... But I guess it's unfair to lump everyone who aborts the game prematurely as cheaters? As mentioned, a lot of the time, it could be due to other factors like lagging. I don't think I've ever quit on purpose. It's usually the other party that quits as my computer is pretty stable (new comp).
Lepi
Key quest is great some days, awful others. I've noticed that my spyder will randomly decide to go sideways, instead of downward. In the fruit game, random pieces of fruit will stick to my scissors and not go to my basket. The whole games moves suuuuuuuuuper slow, and it skips my turn at regular intervals. everlasting__panda
I don't quit (except for when it crashes, that happens more often than I'd like). I mostly play 2 player 5 key games, and the silver key prizes are good enough for me.
Nemo
Despite never playing much, I never quit unless my internet goes down. I do not want to make a unfair game :)
Ethan
I don't quit unless my comp crashes, because as many people have already said, even if you lose, you're still getting keys and NP, so why rob the other person?
