The Elderly Neopians...

I was just wondering if there are any neopians over the expected age wandering around neopia and if so, how they got involved?

 

I don't mean to offend anyone, btw, with the use of the term "expected." It just seems like everyone who asks me to be nf's is 13. I was just wondering if there is a different contingent out there. Some of the things in neopets seems so advanced, I couldn't imagine someone so young succeeding. But I guess that's the great thing about it, because it holds something for people of many different ages.

My mother-in-law plays Neopets, and she's in her mid 50s. My sister-in-law got us all hooked.

2 of my aunts got me hooked and they still play occasionally and are both in their 50's.

i am now 43, been playing neopets for about 8 years now. I honesrly cant remember how i stumbled onto neopets. i think i was looking for a game on google and the site turned up, been around ever since :)

well when i started playin the expected age was late teens early 20's as it was a site for college students... but i was a young person then :P lol I started playing when it first came out on my old account... which I lost :( ... anyways i think nowadays age doesnt matter and there is no expected age. so this whole topic is a moote point :)

Actually it was one of my friends that came one summer (in her 40s) that got me hooked on neopets :) after a while, her older sister, added me (62) and both really helped me out when I was a complete n00b 3 years ago :headphone:

The oldest that I have personally seen is mid 30's. I have seen accounts that claimed they were 70 years old, but they were just kids lying about their age.

I think that my grandma would love the site if she didnt live in an area where her internet is just aweful!! :( she loves to play computer games so she'd love neo! :P

The oldest people I know in real life who still play neopets are in their late forties or even early fifties. Some played since neo first started so it's nice to see a nice mix of people of different ages enjoying the game still :) Never heard of anyone above 53 who still plays it though...

The oldest I've talked to and became friends with was probably in her mid 30's or early 40's. I truly think that age does not matter on this site though. :)

I traded with an elderly lady in her 80s. She was amazing! I thought she was ten! =P

I know several people on the site who are in their 50's, and came across many accounts while searching shops of people in their 40's. Age truly is just an unnecessary number in this game.

I agree, most of the time you truley can't even tell the age of a person. Im pretty good neofriends with a 13 year old :P lol which is crazy seeing how im 21, in real life that wouldnt happen, but here you are able to get past age and find common interests! :)

My mum is in her 50's and I got her into playing Solitare on neopets (she liked the windows version, but I persuaded her to try neopets so it would earn neopoints!).

 

Now she has her own pet that she feeds!

Well, my friend put 99 as his age XD when he joined neopets, so many people are always lying about their age on neo o_O. You can never be sure.

I've seen a few grandparent's profiles. One linked to her daughter and grandkids :D and I know there's quite a few adults-only guilds. Being 24 I'd join one but most I see seem to be for people in their 40's and 50's..

When I first started I lied about my birthday (I always used to) but then when they started the birthday thing I had it changed to my real birthday.

 

... the best way to know is to ask, but even then I guess you cant always be sure.. thats the thing about the internet right..
