Hi De (Brightii), Yep you aren't the only one. I happened to find it one day a few months ago when I was laid up in my bed with a sprained hip. I like playing games, but having a goal to reach for is great. Once I found I liked neopets I tried a few other virtual pet sites and they just didn't compare. There is just so much to do in neopia and the graphics are wonderful. Hope to see you around the forums!

oh man, you are really lucky...I have been after those avatars for the past 2 years, and some how seemed to miss them in 2004 and 2005 :( thats why this is my year, and I'm NOT missing a day....unless of course my internet goes down, but I will take my laptop, and go outside into the freezing cold, and walk miles until I can find an internet connection.... *laughs with evil intent*

Would someone explain the two avatars that are being refered to and how they relate to the advent calendar? Do you get one for having visited every day? How do you get the other one? Just curious. I've visited everyday so far. I always visit the bank first thing to collect my interest then hop over to the advent calendar and then hop to this site to check out the news. I'd love to learn more about these avatars if someone would explain. Thanks!

I have about 850K invested in the neopian stock market. I had almost 1 mill, but then I sold a lot last week. I've done rather well. I buy anything that is at 15 np and buy 1000 shares everyday. I always make sure I make at least 15K playing games each day to make up for it and any profit is play money. :) Just with stocks and playing games I got my royal paint brush in only three months, plus buying avatar and neohome items. (at least 3 Million in three months) I'm not bragging (no need or desire to), just showing profit potential of playing games and playing the stock market.

I usually sell one lot (1000 shares) when they hit 30 np, one at 40 np, etc. Sometimes if I need the cash I sell at anywhere from 28k to 40k. So far I've only been playing for three months and haven't had a stock go above 40k. I don't sell all the stocks of any one kind so that if it goes higher I will still have at least 1000 shares to sell.

Also, since I can only buy 1000 shares a day I try to sell a maximum of 1000 shares a day - because I want to keep increasing the number of shares I have - not just break even. So if none of my shares are at or above 30 I will not sell that day and if multiple are above 30 I usually pick only one to sell 1000 shares of. I'm thinking long term profit.

That's just the way I do it....

I *had* to vote Royal. I worked really hard since I joined three months ago to make enough np to paint my Kougra (Nemereem) Royal. I finally accomplished it last week. WooHoo!!

For non-animated disney I have to agree with Jack Sparrow and his crew.

For animated disney I really do like Pooh Bear. Disney had to buy the rights to it, but I do like their version.

Well, if we are talking of irrational fears I'd have to admit that standing next to the ocean when a storm is coming up gives me a shiver up my spine. No clue why. I can swim in it, fly over it, never tried boating on it, but a storm over the ocean gives me shivers. I think it is the only thing that does. Maybe I've just watched too many movies. LOL!

Ok, this won't be real popular, but I actually hate television. Yep. It makes me tense and agitated no matter what I watch, so we got rid of the TV. I also hate ads - I block them on my computer because they give me a headache (the flashing and movement are a problem). I also really dislike people with bad attitudes - I just feel they are destroying their own lives and making everyone else miserable too. I hate tomatoes, mushrooms and yogart. Oh, I also hate lame movies and books - I like them to be well written and thought provoking. Well, there is my negativity quota for the evening. :)

I don't remember any dreams recently (I know I've had them though), but had a really neat one I wrote down. I had just arrived at a boarding school I was going to be attending and the whole place was given over to evil. It was really old, made of stone and there were intricate carvings everywhere. A couple other students and I found each other and we were looking at the carvings looking for any indication that good was ever there (hope to recover the place for good). We found one that looked hopeful. While we got carried away with what we were finding we were found by the guards and told to leave the area we were in. We left but soon one of the guards came and took away one of the two students and then another came and took the other. I realized I'd be next and so left and changed my appearance (hat, coat, backpack, etc.) and then went and checked into the dormatory. There was more to it than that, but it was rather fascinating and intricate (symbols, clues, etc.). You've got to wonder how our minds come up with this stuff. :)

Oh, I second that. I love milk chocolate, but hate dark chocolate. It is a taste issue. I don't like white chocolate either. My favorite? Nestle Crunch bars - crunchy but still chocoalety. Otherwise I don't like anything in my chocolate. ...hmmm except for Reese's Peanut Butter cups. Mmmm... Oh, and my ice cream is usually Mint Chocolate Chip. :)

I just wondered how many of us speak more than one language. I don't just mean the basics of french and german, but any interesting ones?

I speak Welsh, BSL (British Sign language(for the deaf)), Beginners Irish and French and German oh and English.

Well, if we are talking about non-major languages. I am not fluent in anything, but I do speak some Hebrew, Tok Pisin (trade language of Paupa New Guinea), and ASL (American Sign Language - used to be an interpreter, but was not great at it).

For major languages I'm ok in Spanish (I can just get around in South America) and a little French. English is my native language.

Hi, my name is Leah. I'm 35, married, and have a one-year-old daughter. I used to work in Information Security, but am now a SAHM. I like writing novels (not published, but maybe one day), studying ancient times, being with my family and, of course, playing neopets.

I've been a neopets player for 3 months and 2 weeks. About a week ago I was able to paint my pet Royal. :) It isn't a status thing - I just didn't like the looks of the primary color Kougras and Royal happened to be my favorite Kougra color. I'm hoping to have a faerie Pteri one day too. I'm always nervous a random event would change their color/species though. :)

I am just figuring out the battledome and am saving for some nicer weapons. So I have a lot to work for. I don't care for restocking, but have almost a million in the stock market - which I've done very well with lately and I also make at least 15K from games each day in about a half an hour - more if I have time. I found I can make more np faster playing games than with restocking, but perhaps one day I'll get better at that.

I also collect avatars and am working on the packrat one (561 items so far) as well as some others. I just finished the Sewage Surfer - it took me three days!! Goodness.

My neohome is coming along, but needs more work....slowly, but surely. :)

I agree, there's certainly some people that are crazy, luckily I'm not one of them. You dun have to be frightened.

I think we all have to be a little crazy to be here. Everytime I mention neopets to my husband he rolls his eyes and says "How old are you?" He just laughed and laughed when I told him I had become a millionaire on neopets. Oh well.

On a more personal note, my name is Christina, I'm 23. I'm married, and have an 8 month old son named Evan, and am pregnant with our second (and last) baby boy, Branndon, due in March 07. I'm a SAHM, so in between housework and chasing after my son I spend a TON of time on Neopets...I'm addicted...you all know how it is! :*

 

I have 4 neopets altogether, but my favorite is my Rainbow Ogrin. I spend most of my time searching the shop wizard and making neopoints selling things in my shop. I just recently got into the auctions, so that's been my new "thing".

 

Anyway, I look forward to meeting some new people! :)

LOL! :) I'm a SAHM too.
