You know I haven't been on this site for almost a year. It seems to me that back then there was a discussion about simply closing a topic that was old rather than giving people a warning for posting on them. What sense is that?! Can this be changed? It makes me wonder if I should have bothered ever logging in again. It is just as easy to close a topic as it is to give people a warning for posting on it.

The way I got so many stocks is that I bought 1000 (the maximum allowed) each day - every day (costs 15,000). I also do not sell more than 1000 stocks per day so that the amount of stocks I have will grow. The prices at which I currently sell are ... if I have 5000 of a stock I sell 1000 at 45. If I only have 4000 I sell 1000 at 55, if only 3000 I sell at 65, if only 2000 I sell at 75 and if I only have one I either sell at 85 or let it go higher to see where it will go. I just pretend that that np doesn't exist while it is in the stock market and I very rarely buy more than 5000 of each stock so that if one goes bankrupt it won't hurt too much and also to be sure I have a nice diversified portfolio, which ensures a regular income. I'd say that playing like this it takes about a month to start seeing much of a return, but eventually (~6 months+) it is really worth it. Back when I had very little np (last January) this wasn't easy, but I made sure I made at least that 15,000 each day so that I could invest. :)

People regularly neomail me asking how I made so much np in only a year (though it is a bit more than that now) -- this is one of the ways. Working on my shop was the other main way. Most days those are the only two things I do - buy stocks, maybe sell, empty my shop till and restock a little. That doesn't take long. But here and there I do a bit more work to be sure I can increase my shop size, which brings more customers into my shop which means I can make more and upgrade more. Vicious cycle really. Someday I need to stop upgrading and decorate my neohome properly - most of my neohome/neogarden furniture is in my SDB. I just haven't taken the time to do anything with since about April when I started working on my shop. I actually had 1 million np in my shop till this morning and used all of it to upgrade my shop, I think it was size 386 and now it is size 400. I only have 18,705 np now. My bank is empty. LOL!

Yes, stocks should have been added. I have over two million invested in the stock market and figure I make perhaps 800,000 a month off it. I'll have a better idea of how much next month since I'm now using neohangout.com to keep track. I make about 50,000 np net on my shop each day, but I don't restock from neopet's shops - just don't have time for that. I just search the SSW until I find stuff listed way below shop wiz prices. I play few games since I'm really not good at them. But with all that profit I am usually close to being broke since I put all my np back into my shop.

BTW, the first two months I played I only played games and saved up my np. I was able to buy paint my kougra royal (1.75 million?) when my account was only two months old (I had never played before) just because I had time to sit and play games. It was fun, but I don't have that kind of time anymore. :) I make more than a million a month now with far less work.

I kind of miss the days when Neopets were just pets, and not little clothed half-anthropormorphic beings.

I haven't noticed ads since I'm using Firefox and Firefox's ad blocker. What annoys me is that Firefox is constantly crashing on me. I'd go back to IE, but I really detest ads. I also have Premium, so perhaps the two together gets rid of all my ads.

Well, as for my 2 cents I don't mind the new layout. There is always something I don't like about them, so it is just a matter of getting used to the new "likes" and dislikes" for me.

However - I really hate the pet redraws!! What is it with the fists? They all look so ugly with their fist up. I've already abandoned the kiko I was labbing to the pound (where I got him) because hate the way it looks as well as two other pets I have. The only one I like is my Kougra I painted Royal and now it is so small! What is the point if you can't see it well? Also if I go to my pet page there is a glaring "convert this pet" under him. I feel like I wasted my 1,750,000 np I spent on painting him - really what is worse is the two months of wasted time I spent gaining the np to paint him!! And what is the point in painting when someone could just create a pet and buy clothing for it now? The way my kougra would look if I converted it is exactly the same as the way they beta allowed you to customize it.

I think I might just get rid of all of my pets except the painted kougra. No sense in adopting them out when they aren't painted. I now also think the lab ray is completely obsolete for me. If I only get about one color change per month and I don't like most of the redraws, I could lab for years before getting a pet I like the looks of.

Presently I'm working on my shop and want to furnish my neohome nicely, so I don't care too much about pets, but still it did make the site nicer. I just wish they would drop the awful fists!

Has anyone painted a pet with a brush yet? I'm wondering what will result - the old painted look or the new look.

The last six days have actually been a little eventful. My Grarrl turned Gold. :) Now I'm waiting for her to turn back into a him. Tarker isn't the best name for a female in my opinion. :) Hmmm, maybe for a female Grarrl it is. :)

Mar 2 - changes gender - female

Mar 3 - changes color to gold!!

Mar 4 - no change

Mar 5 - forgot to visit

Mar 6 - goes down to level 1

Mar 7 - gains 5 mx hit points

In two months I've gotten 2 color changes and no species changes.

Looks like color and species changes are getting really rare. In the almost two months I've been using the lab ray I've only gotten one color change and no species changes. ...very dull. I think they've made the ray practicaly pointless.

I read that the random events are based on how much you use the main portal page, but you get notification through neomail.

And I agree that the super shop wiz is the best feature of premium. :yes:

My understanding was that those random events are from how often you use neomail. I am pretty sure that is what neopets said when I signed up. When I use neomail everyday I get a random event almost every day, but for the last week I haven't used it and didn't get one, even though I have still used the Portal multiple times a day, so I think it is based on your usage of neopmail.

My hair is right in between brown and blond and has red highlights. No one can seem to decide if it is blond or brown. I marked brown since I think it is a little more brown than blond currently. It was black when I was born.

Welcome lil_dynamo_61! Ah, another older person here. Hurrah! I'm 35, so I'm a little too young for your guild. :) Welcome to TDN. It is a great place. I came for the avatar lending program too, but haven't participated yet ... to many other things to do here. :)

I can't knit worth anything since I just can't seem to get the tension right and lose count very easily. I can crochet, but never actually make anything because I can't keep count. I really love to cross stitch though, but haven't done that since my daughter was born 1 1/2 years ago.

I live in Illinois and am a disabled SAHM, but I used to have a career in Information Security. My parents are somewhere near your neck of the woods though - near Memphis, Tennesse. I grew up in Upstate New York, but they moved down there to get away from the harsh winters. I lived in Texas for 6 years, so I develped a bit of a preference for warmer climates too. We're only up here because of my husband's job (scientific researcher/professor).

My spelling is passable (I tend to look things up if I am in doubt), but my husband's drives even me crazy as he is dyslexic. My sentence structure can be a bit odd at times though.

I painted my Kougra (almost 2Mill *choke* - still haven't recovered from that), thorned_rose_ was labbed, I plan to leave sadforevermore unpainted, and princess__nice is my current lab pet. I adopted all of them except my Kougra. Thorned_rose_ is up for adoption if you know anyone intersted.

Dillon, The customizable Portal is nice since you can see your bank account amount, how much np you are carrying, and your shop till all in one glance (nice for seeing if something sold. It also shows you your trades and auctions, your five most active stocks so if one shoots up really high on day you can see it there. It saves a bunch of clicks you might not think to do otherwise.

For me the super shop wiz is the best. I am able to search many things a day and get the lowest price. I've found numerous things that were way underpriced and then resell just below the next minimum price. I've made from 10k to 50k a day that way. I don't have much time to spend online each day and so this extra profit helps a lot. That is why I found it worth paying for.

Oh, also those random events someone mentioned aren't throughout the site - they are only in neomail and then it says that you have to use neomail for them to happen. I get them on average every other day with about five neomails going in and out.
