I LOVE TATTOOS. I want another one but I'm really not too into the pain.

SO who wants a slightly risque tattoo shot? Huh? YEAH.

This is on my hip, I got it a few years back before I saw U2 for the first time. I'll give one single Neopoint to anyone who gets the reference.

It is rare to get these expensive items, but the more you visit the shore, the higher your chances are of finding one. I think I've gotten 2 Pirate Draik eggs and 1Pirate Krawk MP so far. Just keep visiting and you may get lucky. Plus the free neopoints on days when the shore is being nice is always a good thing. :)

I just got together with a bunch of friends who were going on and on about how good the Game of Thrones series is so it was recently put on my "To Read" list!

Cool prizes, but I'm a little disappointed that there's no avatar. Or a stamp. Am I the only one? I liked the bonus prize for the parchments: Lost Desert Palace View Background (I don't know how to post a picture in the comments).

Ubuntu Linux for desktop use, Debian for servers.

I've been using Linux since roughly 2005, and while it was a bit bumpy back then, I can clearly see the progress it has made since then.

I'm curious what distribution of Linux you chose to install, as that has a great deal of influence on how easy it is to use, how fast it is, and how good of a desktop platform it is (as opposed to being geared toward servers).

Speaking of Tragus, mine was awful! The actual piercing didn't bother me but afterwards, it got bubbly and would drain this clear fluid sometimes. Needless to say, I took it out. It was way too problematic.

I've got my earlobes pierced, 2x. My left tragus - which is seriously the WORST pain you will ever experience in a piercing - and my right nostril. I used to have my tongue pierced, but that ended badly for me.

I've been thinking about getting an anti-helix (or a triple anti-helix and do that cute thing girls do where they graduate the size of their studs and it flows with the natural contour of the ear), or an inner conch and stretching it to place an eyelet through, but I don't know...I'm gonna be 28 in a week and I need to...think about my piercings a bit more carefully. If anything, I want it to be sweet and feminine.

I do love body piercings, and I get a real rush from getting pierced. Some people are "addicted" to the feeling they get when they get inked, I get that same feeling from getting pierced. I know, I'm weird.

I own a copy of it, but I haven't started it yet. My book collection easily staggers 300 or more and there are A LOT I haven't even started yet! :P But I need to, I truly do. Sylvia Plath is one of my favorite writers hands down. I own a gorgeous copy of Ariel that has been read and re-read about a thousand times.

You deserve a high five for that! I've been playing every year since AC III and have been a Lost desert supporter after the glitch (Long story) But I've been loyal ever since. (I even made a real life T-shirt out of the AC II-V Team) and I'm not changing so good luck and Play on fellow mummy!

Man I keep hearing how bad Allegiant is but I'm gonna read it anyway for the sake of completion. I saw the movie a couple days ago. I thought it was pretty good but like the rest of you I felt certain things were lacking. I didn't particularly like the way Al and Peter were portrayed in the movie. They watered Peter's character down A LOT. As for Al the book just made him seem a bit different I guess.

Oh gosh. I actually love the whole family, which is unusual for me. It's the only show I can think of where I don't have a favourite character; or at least a least favourite.

My favourite episode is the Electric Love one because omg that song is so catchy and the whole thing with Louise just trying to make the teacher mad really amused me. Ooooor the episode where Logan steals Louise's hat.

Exactly. I may have the Wheel of Extravagance avatar because I got lucky, but I collect plushies, so that's avatar I use. Easy to get and cheap, but it fits my plushie mania.

officialsarahjay got a reaction from Azurablue in Expensive avatars: just a show-off?
Back in the day, I collected avatars just to collect them. If I was able to get a Chokato or something, getting the avatar instilled a sense of pride in myself, like, "I got this particularly expensive avatar, that's pretty amazing that I put so much time and effort into a game" (ha, I'm self-deprecating ignore me). I never felt the need to show off any of the expensive or rare ones to rub it in anyone's face, since that's obnoxious. I don't think anyone really wants to be obnoxious on Neo, unless it's me circa 10 years ago.

Now I'm the same way. I collect the avatars to collect them, and not to show off or brag about my status in the game.

But my favorite avatars are cheap and easy to get anyway, like Bleh or I'm Smelly or Gloomy. They fit me more than Chokatos or...any other expensiveish avatars.

This is my very first Battleground round, so I picked Awakened without knowing exactly what I was getting into. I can see they aren't exactly the most popular choice. :P But I'm interested to give it a go and see how it plays out!

Finally finished A Storm of Swords!

In addition to starting A Feast for Crows, I've got myself a copy of Finding Darwin's God. It's nonfiction, talking about how God and evolution can coexist. I already believe that, but I'm very interested to read the book. Hopefully it will give me better arguments when trying to present my case to people who believe the two are mutually exclusive.

I'm from Seattle, WA and we're really well known for our "Seattle freeze". We're very polite and gracious, but we're known as a flaky city. We tend to make random plans like "Oh yeah we should totally get together for coffee sometime..." and then we leave it like that. A lot of out of state transplants really don't like that.

Lesee, we're known for coffee, technology, and liberalism in general. One of the best things about Seattle in my opinion is how diverse we are. We have one of the largest international ports, so we get to interact with people all over the world - which makes our food INCREDIBLE. Well, once you get over the fact that we're closer to Asia then we are to Mexico (we're not great in the Mexican food department). But sushi, thai, pho, french-vietnamese, korean, ethiopian, indian, pakistani - I've been in a really huge mediterranean kick lately.

The biggest "downside" to a lot of people is the weather though. It doesn't rain a lot - it's just always grey. Depression is pretty rampant up here. Personally, I LOVE the weather, and hate it when it gets all hot and sticky/icky. It snows maybe for a week(ish?) in winter, but rather than that it's just varying states of grey and drizzly. Definitely makes the cup of coffee, a hot bowl of pho, and a really great book go by better :D

officialsarahjay reacted to Nimphal in Buying online from China: anyone?
Careful not to open Pandora's box there, asking me why and all :D I'll try to be succinct, but actually, I have done and am doing a ton of research in the fashion industry (and not only) and human rights and origin of things are a big passion.

So, let's start with China first. One of the reasons I don't want to buy things from there is purely political - the CCP is pure evil. I won't go into details, but as a child of a former communist country, political communism sucks, the CCP is on a whole new level. I don't want to be feeding that regime. The second reason I avoid buying things from China when I have the choice (and with technology, I simply don't have that choice) is because of the very real chance that somewhere along the line the production of said product included one or more of the following: inhumane working conditions, slavery (sweatshops), child labour, toxic environment. No, I'm not doing that, I can't.

As for South East Asia, very similar reasons as with China, but in addition to that, buildings collapse from time to time.

I should make something clear, though. I do buy clothes from South East Asia, but very carefully. I buy Fair Trade, which ensures that workers are treated and rewarded as human beings. If I like something and it is not certified Fair Trade I look at where I am buying it from. In the UK the Arcadia Group (BHS, Burton, Dorothy Perkins and a few more) have a Fashion Footprint programme. I have read the steps they take to ensure that their workers and factories are treated well and am .. satisfied. They also have a lot of factories in Europe, which I am very excited about. I would probably still not buy something from South East Asia unless Fair Trade. China is off the table completely for me when I have choice.

Buying online makes knowing where your clothes come from quite a bit trickier, because most online retailers don't sate that info on their pages, you have to buy it to know. I am working to combat that with a project that will allow people to share where their clothes are made and will hopefully create a nice database of open data about fashion.

Sorry, I tried not to make it too long, and it still came out too long....

I am morally against buying anything made in China or South East Asia (unless certified Fair Trade and even then I avoid China). This is purely my prerogative, though. I have friends that have used AliExpress and the like and for most things, they are good.
