    Hi there!

I would just like to point out that TNT is *not* violating your freedom of speech. Freedom of Speech prevents the government and other official regulatory bodies from censoring your speech, but does not affect the rules of private businesses.

    When you create an account on Neopets you agree to their Terms of Service and Rules and Guidelines. Under these you agree to their limitations on your speech. They can't violate something that you have willingly given up when you agree to play on the site. ^^;

As for adult content on Neopets, I don't ever really see that happening due to their family-friendly image. Personally, I've never had much of an issue with the filters or warnings as I understand that there are other places I can go to discuss content that is not permitted on Neopets. Also, I hate chatting during Key Quest, so that's a moot point. I wish they'd remove that chat altogether.

You are doing good! I haven't got quite that far yet...

Today's clue: The guild that committed the theft at 1:00 a.m. did not use a disguise.
So that means we have now all the times!

So here's what I've got so far, I'm sure there's more to it also...

Clue: The Oasis Runners stole an item sometime before the guild who bribed a guard.
Clue: Of the guild that bribed a guard and the Pyramid Prowlers, one stole Pocket Chess and the other committed the theft at midnight.
--> OR didn't bribe a guard, steal the Pocket Chess or commit theft at midnight.
--> Because midnight is the earliest time, and the guild that bribed the guard couldn't have stolen the item at midnight.
So PP committed the theft at midnight and the guild who bribed a guard stole Pocket Chess.
--> Because 5 am is the latest time, OS didn't commit the theft at 5 am.

Clue: Pocket Chess was not stolen by the Sun Chasers, nor was it stolen at 2:00 a.m.
--> SC did not bribe the guard because Pocket Chess was stolen by guild who bribed a guard.

Clue: The guild that climbed the palace walls committed the theft sometime after the Wedding Ring was stolen.
--> Wedding Ring was not stolen 5 am.
--> Guild that climbed the palace wall didn't commit the theft at midnight. So PP didn't climb the palace wall, because PP committed the theft at midnight.

Clue: The guild that used invisibility committed the theft one hour before the Dagger Clan.
--> The guild that used invisibility committed the theft didn't do it 5 am.
--> Also DC didn't commit the crime at 5 am, since there are 2 hours between 5 am and 3 am.

Clue: The Illuminated Menuscript was either stolen using invisibility or by bribing a guard.
--> Pocket Chess was stolen by bribing a guard, so Illuminated Menuscrip was stolen using invisibility.

Clue: The guild that used invisibility committed the theft one hour before the Dagger Clan.
--> Illuminated Menuscript was not stolen 5 am or by DC.

I hope I got this right... I'm sure there is more, I'll keep digging...

I think what we should have done was separate real people for one contest and fictional characters for another. Sorry, just my opinion, but that way we wouldn't have to choose, as some of us would love to do both.
But since most people are going with fictional characters, I decided to go the real person route to balance things out. Did my best, and I hope you like! Don't forget to click on the picture for the moving parts! Could have added more I suppose, but I couldn't find anything more to emulate Michael Jackson or the Thriller more. I imagine that he would have been a Halloween Kyrii.

"'Cause this is THRILLER, THRILLER NIIIIGHT
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about to strike
Yeah this is THRILLER, THRILLER NIIIIIGHT
You're fighting for your life inside a KILLER! THRILLER! TONIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!"

EDIT: Updated my entry. The werewolf wig just needed to be added. I know Michael only appears as the werewolf in the movie sequence of the music video and not during the dance number when he was a zombie, but I think this looks better than an Zombie Kyrii.
I also just could NOT find a wig that emulated Michael Jackson no matter how much I looked.

It sickens me that in this supposedly enlightened day and age that we have a need to talk about things like this. There is nothing at all civilized about our so-called modern civilization. Especially when there are men around that would have us all back in the Dark Ages (or worse). Too many of them around the world believe that men own everything, have a right to do as they please, and frequently use religion to back it up.

Sadly, I am a bit of a dreamer. I believe in utopian ideals and that the human race really could work together for the betterment of all living things. The problem is that we, as a species, have not yet evolved to the point where we can let go of baser instincts, embrace reason, and truly become enlightened. Some day, but not yet. Maybe in another thousand years. Until then, we have neanderthals clumping around with their figurative clubs in hand, dragging us women around by our hair and doing unspeakable things to us.

Now, before someone accuses me of being a man hater: I don't believe that all males of our species are cavemen. Just a large number of them. They can usually be found in control of things somewhere, finding new and better ways to oppress people (usually women) and gain more power for themselves. I regret that many of them have women at their sides who have been brainwashed since birth to believe in the nonsense that men have all the rights and that women should be put in their place. Either that, or they see a way to empower themselves financially, materialistically, and will put up with almost anything just in order to have the prettiest pair of shoes on the block. Again, not all. Just a large number.

Please don't get me wrong. I am not trying to make light or little of the hashtag campaign. It's just that I don't see any point in it. It won't make a difference. Actual change makes a difference and that's not happening because of a trend or fad. Look at the Occupy Wall Street movement. Where did that get anyone? The rich are still obscenely rich and the rest of us are slaving under their oppression. It made no real difference. The human race needs to grow up and stop acting like small children fighting over a toy in the sandbox in order to make a real and lasting change. I wish I could be there to see it, but I figure it's going to be at least a millenium before it happens.

My feelings on tattoos are mixed. There is a tattoo I've wanted since I was 16 - I've had it drawn up and everything - as a constant reminder for myself, but I have refrained from getting it because I find tattoos really unattractive. I have settled for hanging the sketch on my wall. I could certainly never be one of those people who gets memorial tattoos for a couple of reasons. First, because I have chronic depression and it would only encourage me to fall into my little emotional ruts and second, because I've already lost so many and, after the first, I'd feel sorta obligated to tattoo any future lost loved ones on. I'd start running out of space eventually! I know that's probably weird, but it's just how I am.

Despite the fact that I think tattoos are ugly, I totally disagree with the author of that article. To assume that everyone gets a tattoo just to attract attention is ridiculously narrow-minded. Naturally there are people who get tattoos just to feel more unique or even because they want to blend in, but how does that make them any worse than people who do other things for the same reasons, like dying their hair vibrant colors or wearing strange clothes? I'm sure we all find attention-seekers annoying, but generalizing people like that is ignorance at its finest. You shouldn't just assume that all those who have tattoos are thirsty for attention and vice-versa. Furthermore, it's not his/her place to ridicule someone else for what they do with their body. I don't like tattoos on people, but I don't judge them or think less of them for it anymore than I would someone who has a haircut I find unappealing. Have we become such a superficial society that we can't talk to and befriend anyone who we don't find visually exceptional? I'm certainly not that shallow and I would hope that there are others who feel the same way. I'm not going to sink to the author's level and judge him/her even though we've never met, but that article made him/her come off as completely classless and imbecilic.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just too accepting, but I really don't care what piercings/tattoos/hairstyle/clothes/whatever someone has as long as they prove to be a good person. To waste an entire post ranting and raving about people with tattoos... I mean, really? I can think of tons of better subjects than that. What about people who cut in line? Don't know how to use their blinkers? Drive 30 miles over the speed limit in a school zone? Speak lewdly and cuss loudly in public places when there are children about? Any one of those trivial things would be better, in my opinion. xD I mean, if he/she has the emotional stamina to spend on getting upset over what people choose to do with their bodies, I envy him/her. I wish I had that kind of energy to spare on minuscule things like that.

Azurablue got a reaction from lakecat in Should I feel bad??
I suppose that feeling badly about a good purchase depends on your point of view. Like those before me have already said, there are some people who like to sell low and give a break to other Neopians who are less fortunate than themselves. Then again, there are people who simply don't know any better or who got bad advice and sold something really cheaply that couldn't afford to do so.

When I was new to NeoPets, I had a lucky first spin on the Wheel of Excitement and got a silver paint brush. I had no idea what they were worth and saw that a shop's maximum selling price was 99,999. I figured that it couldn't possibly be that expensive, so I put it in my store for half of that (50,000 NP) and it was snapped up in a heartbeat. This person Neomailed me later that day and told me that I was crazy because they were selling for something like a million NP (at the time) at the TP. I was so new, I didn't even know what the TP was. He basically said, 'thanks for the PB, sucker, and don't play Neo until you know how'.

Ever since then, I've tried my best to price things fairly and if I've gotten a ridiculously good deal, I've contacted the seller and offered to sell it back to them for what I bought the item for in case they made a mistake. (It happened once - he was selling a red codestone for 2,000 when it was worth 20,000. He slipped and missed a zero. He was very happy to take it back.)

Where am I going with this? I guess that it's like lakecat (above me) said. It's a matter of personal conscience. If you think that the person made a mistake, you could try contacting them and seeing where to go from there. If you figure that they were just one of those very generous Neopians, then no worries. Maybe you could pay it forward and put something into your shop for a low price and pass on the good feelings to someone else. It's all up to you. :)

I have bought very under priced items, but what I do next depends on the situation. Does it look like just one or two items are too low, or that they are deliberately being generous (sometimes a message is above the shop). Is it more than a few thousand (that is, more than a few quick games to earn the same money time wise and less time than both of us sending neomails back and forth to each other). If so I send them a message and explain how much they underpriced it. Usually I suggest we become friends so I can just donate it back. Whenever I do that, the person is usually very surprised and happy that someone was honest and cared enough to let them know. Remember that the vast majority of members aren't as rich as multi year players, so even 10,000 NP means more to them. A few times, a richer, more jaded player tells me I can keep it and thanks anyway. Let your conscience be your guide. :santa: (P.S.: Could the mistake be caused by a false estimated value from the item info pop up window? I've always wondered if some newer players based their prices from that and then lose a fortune. :shiftyeyes_anim: :questionmark: )

With Comic Con happening recently, this theme could not come at a more perfect time. I see plenty of bookish library nerds, but not as many of the cosplay variety. And what could be more nerdy than Star Trek?

Attendees everywhere gathered in awe of this Grundo's cosplay. She looked just like the character from the popular comic book, Space Adventures. With cameras ready, many asked for her picture, and she posed extravagantly and in character. In fact, she even acted the part for some fans! But all this attention wasn't the main reason she was here, oh no, she was here to compete in the cosplay competition, and was determined to take home a prize. She knew the judges were harsh, and she needed to truly amaze them in order to have a chance at winning. That was the purpose behind the laser gun she crafted, making it look just like it did in the comic book, and it helped enough to look a lot like the character already, who was also a Brown Grundo. Everything was made from scratch, from the wig down to the boots, which would be another aspect the judges would be looking for: craftsmanship. She felt that she had a chance, but seeing many other talented cosplays intimidated her. Off she headed in line for the contest, which would start in another two hours...

"Ahh! I simply love magic! The thought of spellbooks, magic wands... It's amazing! Call me nerdy, but it's your opinion!" The Kacheek exclaims. He looks at you curiously. "Hmm, you don't agree?" He muses."Well... Let's see if this will change your mind." He looks around. "Ah, yes! This Negg will be the perfect example!" The Kacheek faces you again. "You see this plain, yellow, Negg? What happens if I—" He pauses dramatically, then points the tip of his wand at the Negg.

I agree with Katsuokai. Trying to explain things to 3 years olds is a little bit like talking to a border collie. Eventually, they get to the point of understanding, but it takes a lot of work to get there. I would look around at your local bookstores and see if they have something that will explain it in terms a child can understand. You would be amazed at the range of children's books nowadays. Everything from "My Two Dads" to "Sesame Street's: We're Different, We're The Same". Something on the theme of being different might be your best angle. Try asking the bookseller if they can recommend anything. If you're lucky enough to live in a city with specialty stores for the LGBT community, try there. They might not have something, but could have suggestions on where to look and what for.

If you decided to try books, Amazon's got a few listed that might help, including the Sesame Street one I mentioned, "It's Okay To Be Different" (by Davida Grant), and "Being Different Is Okay" (by Todd Parr). I'm sure there are others, but this was a quick search. (I chose the 3-5 years option and used "being different" as the keywords.) Once you have the concept of difference solidly down, you can use that as a jumping off point for explaining your friend.

I don't have kids, so I have no firsthand advice to give. All I can do is wish you a great deal of luck with a very difficult issue.

Azurablue reacted to Gensei in Let's talk about GAY MARRIAGE!
Gay marriage is not really an issue that makes it to the forefront of things on my list of activist priorities.. But, it's something that should unquestionably be accepted by every society across the globe - It isn't harmful, it's not your right to to interfere in the affairs of two consenting adults, and it's morally wrong to condemn some one who isn't harming you, or your family (or anyone else) simply because their preference/orientation is different from yours.. The reason it's something I've never cared much about is because it seems so incredibly simple.. When a bible belt parent prevents their daughter from marrying that mischevious boy from down the street simply because he dresses outside of social norms and has a tattoo, we condemn her as a controlling and judgmental old bat. Why wouldn't we do the same to that very mom for preventing her daughter from marrying the mischevious girl from down the street who dresses outside of the norm and has a tattoo?

Here's why: Because there are books and strict gender roles governing peoples' minds in various cultures around the world.. In America, if you're male and prefer an androgynous look to the jersey shore look, then you're less than a man.. You can guess what it's like if you are actually attracted to men and happen to be a man. Christianity isn't solely to blame for this, but it obviously plays a huge part because it condemns these people as abominations for their choice of partner.

I consider preserving peoples' right to choose as a conservative value, not a liberal one.. It's only a liberal position in a society full of theocratic and sexist nutjobs. I'm neither conservative nor liberal, but people who label me a liberal because I uphold such elementary moral values bug me.. They only get away with their bigotry because there are so many bigots in American society that you couldn't properly count them all..

Gods of wrath are fun in video games, books, movies, and sitcoms, but in reality, if you serve a god that would put some one to death for their bedroom choices for any reason other than the fear he'll kill you, then you have forsaken your humanity.. Imagine that - A god who condemns people to die over such trivialities.. There are people in the world who are still tortured in some of the most enlightened of societies, yet he would condemn homosexuals to enternal damnation for doing something utterly harmless. Of all the problems in the world, he feels justified in killing those who've committed no crime against another human being. Not all islamic or christians believe their god is this way by any means, to be clear, but many do.

In my opinion, if you believe in god, and he's as amazingly murderous as your holybook depicts him(no one that overwhelmingly sexist and evil is gonna be a woman), then you should be finding ways to protect the rest of us from him and not trying to pull us towards his deathcult.
