  1. It's not intentional but it happens. I do this with SteppingWolf because I guess I customized him and his pages first because I wanted to get everything ready to start giving him gourmet food.

I give my pets back stories and personalities which makes it hard to choose a favourite in those terms because I put the same amount of thought into each one, so I only end up favouring some pets over others due to practical reasons.

  2. I don't know where you live but you might be overreacting. Your mother is right. I had loads of teachers and professors who dressed more professionally at work and completely different outside of school. I'm not sure how people would find out about your hobbies unless you're adding students on Facebook. Some of my teacher friends play games like Call of Duty and similar things and sometimes even get together with other teachers to play, nobody cares. Anyone who knows those bands probably won't care and older or more conservative staff probably won't even know what that is... as far as music goes Aiden and AFI are really harmless.

Kids usually don't give a crap about what their teachers look like outside of work. If anything the fact that you're into goth/punk stuff and can still tone it down or change your style during work hours speaks to your credit as a professional.

  3. Not really a collection but I've been hoarding gourmet food to feed my pet Yurble. It's pretty unrealistic to think that I'll make it to the gourmet club but it's fun.

I've also thought about making a gallery of omelettes or just rare/unusual food that isn't quite gourmet. But I've also thought about feeding those to my neopets as you would with gourmet food and keep track of it on their petpages.

I also like collecting books but I don't have many yet.

  4. You have to level it up to level 50 first. You still get NP for leveling, but not as much as you do when you get to level 50. And yeah, you just pull your workers out and leave them to it! If you haven't started playing it yet, I definitely recommend it. Here's TDN's guide (http://www.thedailyneopets.com/neopets-games/p3h-main/) since it can seem a little overwhelming when you start. :)

Thanks! That's really helpful. I tried to play it but I've been endlessly confused by it. I'll give a try - I doubt I'll make as much as people who can leave their computers on all night and day but it's better than nothing.

  5. ^ Purple looks sweet! The spotted Koi is absolutely stunning, I want to make my Koi woodland eventually but I've considered spotted until the time when (IF) I can afford the woodland pb.

The Christmas ones are neat but aside from the Ptery and the Zafara I wouldn't get the others unless I could costumise them in a way that "hid" the more seasonally specific elements and make them just look white.

I'm not a fan of ghost at all. I was expecting something more interesting but the glowing blue-grey with red eyes is just too simple and boring. They could have done something much cooler with a ghost theme.

  6. Haha, like I said, that's just by leaving Habi on. I check on it twice a day. Occasionally it glitches, and I don't get any gems, but generally, I'm just rolling in the NP without doing a thing.

The only problem with making it even easier to make NP is that inflation happens at an increased rate. TNT is fighting that by keeping the caps, and introducing new NP sinks (the Wheel of Extravagance, Lever of Doom, the Hidden Tower book avatars), but getting rid of game caps and other things would actually make it harder to get the NP to buy things.

Thanks. So you just didn't do anything to set up habitarium? You just switch it on and leave it on?

  7. I would argue that it's actually easier to make NP for busy people now than it used to be. I leave Habitarium running while I'm at work and asleep, and I can easily make 100k a day off that, without doing a thing. When I was younger, I would be happy to make 10k a day, and that was when I was a bored pre-teen, able to spend all of my free time on the site.

Yeah but not everyone can or wants to leave their computer switched on all day/night. I especially can't see this working for their target demo of younger kids. I think that as a whole, they should make it easier and more fun to get NP like getting rid of NP caps in games.

But 100k a day? That's pretty impressive lol tell me your secrets!

  8. I hope it's ok for me to post here even though the thread is a month old - it's on the front page so hopefully it's ok.

I LOVE some "low value" coloured pets, I think they're underrated. Some of my favourites:

    Snow

    4.png4.png

Snow Grundos are awesome. Look at those carrots in his antennae. Isn't that just cool? Yes. Snow Yurbles are just plain pretty. I also like Snow Ogrins a bit and I've thought about painting my Ogrin as Snow while saving up to make him a mutant.

    Tyrannian

I love almost all Tyrannian pets. My ultimate goal for my Koi is to make him/her Woodland but I've thought about Tyrannian too. I have a Tyrannian Elephante and it's the best, because woolly mammoths are the greatest (fact).

    Spotted

People have posted their favourite spotted pets already so I won't repeat it but I really like that they look like real animals.

    Custard

I like the custard pets especially Kau and Ruki. I don't know why people hate custard pets so much.

    Swamp Gas

Just like custard, they get way too much undeserved hate. They look like badass swamp monsters.

I'm not even going to mention Biscuit pets because my Biscuit Yurble is one of my favourites, I think it's a fun colour. And I like rainbow in general.

  9. Here are my opinions:

Stealthy Blumaroo - I think it sounds like a nice idea but as others have said, you can't buy the clothes independently. I think it's an ok look, not something I'd personally get (just my taste) but I like the idea and it looks really put together.

Clown JubJub - I don't like that idea (I'm not a fan of circus-themed stuff and I don't like JubJubs that much ;) ) but if you like it you should go for it. Cheap isn't necessarily bad in my opinion. My dream outfit for my biscuit Yurble is really cheap but to me it matters more that my pet looks cute than trying to hoard expesive items. If you like it it doesn't matter if it's too cheap or not.

Galactic Ogrin - Wow, that's awesome! I love that Ogrin and the combination of Eventide Ogrin with that background and foreground. I don't think it looks too empty because the pattern on the Ogrin and the scenery are already busy enough. I think it looks simple but in a really nice way, I wouldn't add anything else - in fact, I would maybe remove the make-up but I'm not sure.

  10. I have a Kindle and I love it because it's so practical but I don't think it's the time to retire paper books. Kindles are great for some types of books but not others, for example I can't imagine trying to read a textbook on my kindle (trust me, I've tried). Adding notes, underlining, bookmarking pages is all possible but it's so much easier when you're using a paper book. As is finding specific pages.

Plus there's something charming about paper books.

  11. I have, not one, not two, but several friends and acquaintances who are ESL teachers. :laughingsmiley: It sounds really awesome and it's something I've considered as I love to travel around. I don't think it's weird that this is just a step in your life and you don't have plans for later yet, I'm pretty sure most of our generation in that situation of taking one step at a time.

  12. I'm sorry you're going through that fear. For what it's worth I've met a few people who have epilepsy but are still able to play video games. Depending on your type of epilepsy you might have to play less or give up only on games with a lot of flashing stuff or you may be fine with everything. Don't assume the worst straight away before finding out from your doctor.

I don't know exactly what's going on but if your mother says it's ok I'd believe her for the time being. It sounds like she may have been doing research and knows that you may be able to continue or she may have spoken to doctors already. If it turns out to be wrong, don't let that shake your trust in her; parents are only human and like all humans they can be wrong sometimes even when they're almost sure of something.

  13. There's way too many things, I'm afraid. :sick01:

For me the biggest would be:

    • It's harder to make money nowadays it seems. I know that some users manage to make millions even now but not everyone can spend hours on the site. They target demo are kids and many users are now adults, not everyone is a bored teenager (no offense to bored teenagers) who wants to spend entire afternoons scouring shops and playing games.
    • Random events like that penguin that turns your neopets into babies.
    • Their support line is messed up.
    • Some games are seriously outdated (terrible graphics and playability) with a low payout to boot, others like key quest are way too laggy for a browser game.
  14. Thanks for the welcome! I won't :laughingsmiley:

  15. Just don't give up and keep trying. It seems like the support teams gives different replies to the same request each time. One of my kid siblings had the same issue you did (no access to their old hotmail account, fake birthday) and e-mailed them with details. They said they had little information to go by despite all the specifics about inventory items and the date the account was crated.

In my case I still had access to my old e-mail but they said I couldn't get my account back because I couldn't remember the e-mail I used... even though I was e-mailing them from it and I know it was correct because when I requested my password it was sent there.

They just don't really care anymore.

  16. I'm in my 20s and I started playing as a tween. I'm still not nearly as dedicated and I have much less free time now, plus I hate so many things about the site, but it makes me nostalgic and I think it's fun to play the puzzles and use the money you get to decorate your neopets.

I quite like how Neopets can be private. If you play Farmville, it's aggrivatingly public, and everyone knows. But Neopets is... it's our little secret.

Me too. Everyone I know likes to play random puzzle and pet games but they just play them on facebook and stuff. I'm not ashamed but at least with neopets I'm not forcing friends who aren't interested in Fairy Bubbles to get e-mails about it.

  17. No, I think it's ok. Then again I think it's ok for people to do it too if they want. I can't really bother with it. I'm more invested in species and brushes than on neopets gender and I don't play nearly enough to try to change their gender or get an opposite gender equivalent of a pet I like. My biscuit Yurble wears a sundress and I think he's male.

  18. Hey! I used to play neopets way way back in the day but then I stopped. Thanks to tumblr I got nostalgic and decided to check the site out again... sadly I can't get into my old account but I have a new one.

I'm not very good at Neopets and I'm not very invested in it as I only play when I'm bored but it's fun. It's good to find a site where I can ask my n00b-sounding questions.
