Hey guys! I'm sorry for the year of absence if anyone still remember me. If not, I'm Dominic, I draw a lot of stuff. Some crappy, some are not. And I wanna reintroduce my Neopets, the Altador Reclaimers (now with improved backstory)!

    (Left to Right)
Cimarona : The CEO, also a swashbucking, trigger-happy, cocky and pretentious Kougra. Was a thief before turning around and developing an interest in helping other people.
Zelabeth : The Assistant, a stoic, serious, and sarcastic Ogrin. Was a former mage from Faeriland before an incident she don’t want to talk about that caused her to lose her job.
Aermynn : The Intern, a naive, hyper-active, curious little Zafara. She was fired on her previous job as a historian when she burnt down a rare bookstore in Altador. Never had thousand years of history be gone in a matter of 4 minutes.

Now that's done! I'm going to dump a lot of art in here Neopets related :D Thanks for having me.

Hey guys!, sorry I was gone for a long while. I had more personal stuff to take care of and a lot of personal projects. Anyways! Cutting to the chase! Let me introduce you to the arcanic spirit!

Yvadriel! A pyromancer and a Vandagyre. He has a thirst for knowledge but seems to can't keep up with the times (due to him being stuck at the obelisk for a long time). He has a slightly primitive view of the world now and thinks the toaster is a demon.

Man, y'all are being surprisingly awesome about this! Not to sound rude or anything, but...I always expect the worst when I go into these conversations.
    Good on you.

To get to the point at hand, I'm really dang frightened by the majory response to the #YesAllWomen movement. Especially the portion made by men.
Men who hold the power to do great harm to women, sitting in a circle with each other and talking down to women who don't want to be systematically hurt anymore.

I may not be female, but I sure am afraid for the folks in my life who are. My female friends, my girlfriend, my female family members are all affected. Whether they know or not.
And it saddens me. I do my best to be a feminist ally and generally do good for women, but I still wish I could do more to protect you all.

Thanks! Well I tend to get references on clothing and how it works. Took me a lot of tries(and a few blood, sweat and gallons of tears) to try and get it right lol.

Aqua - Thank you! c: I added a layer of noise just to give the picture a little texture.

Kate - Well, like most things, the more you practice then the better you'll get. ^^ You can't improve without drawing on a regular basis.

Here's a little skewiff digital painting I did for a challenge. The aim was to do a fully digital landscape; I'm not good at fully digital art just yet and I only had a timespan of 2 hours to do it, but hopefully with consecutive landscapes I'll be able to improve. :) By the end of the challenge I should have 5 landscape paintings, and hopefully there'll be an improvement by the end of it.

Finally coloured this lineart I've had sitting around forever. .__.
This is the new design for my kougra, Luanolu. She's slowly evolved from a generic tiger into a gracefull shenkuu beauty. #noregrets
I'm not sure whether to submit this new piece into the stressful BC or try for the pet spotlight.

This is my old artwork of her from a good couple of years ago, where she won gold in the BC:

It's kinda weird to see how much my style has changed.

Again thank you guys for the comments, I know I haven't posted much lately again. Home changes and personal affairs in the way.

But I was able to draw something during my free time! (It's Aermynn the Zafara)

She's possessed by an arcanic spirit born from the Obelisk, which gives her glowy tattoos and weird fire magic. I'll name and draw the spirit soon enough.

Tumblr is a non-Neopets site, and mentioning any site that isn't Neopets - or an official Neopets fansite - anywhere on Neopets is prohibited.

A bit silly, yes, but there's no changing the rules.

yeah, I hear you. I appreciate the filters-- I go to neopets to play neopets, not to chat, generally- but I wish that the neomail filters at least gave you a clue as to what was flagged. That's the most frustrating aspect. Okay, I can't say a word- fine, I'll work around that. JUST TELL ME WHAT WORD. *facepalm*

Thank you so much. Someday you might be able to draw awesome things whether it be paper or digital. All you need is the dedication and the continuous practice :)

EDIT: Have some random sketches of other neopets :)

I have to admit that this is the first time I have scrolled further down than the Neopets Categories in the TDN Forum Topics.

    Wow.

I don't quite know where the line is drawn so far as language/images so I will try to be respectful of the TDN rules...but, it seems to me that this is a subject that is more important than rules (so long as decorum is upheld).

Let's start with the fact that I am a guy.

I am in my 40's...so, while not from a generation where most believe a woman is a second-class citizen...I am also not of the most recent generations who (imo) have advanced even further in embracing the fact that women are not just 'not second-class', they are EQUAL and deserving of every respect.

The newer generations really do amaze me (and give me faith in humanity).

I am a son, a brother (with a baby sister...heh who is 29), and a husband. I have 3 nieces. My best friend of over 20 years is a strong woman. I have aunts, female cousins, female co-workers, female neighbors, and female clients.

TO A ONE...I know they have each dealt with bigotry and prejudice and misogyny. Because they are female.

    It makes my heart ache.
    It makes me angry.
It makes me feel guilty...for, if being absolutely honest with myself and everyone else, I am sure that I have in my life shown bigotry, shown prejudice, been misogynistic...whether with intent or not.

We can all do better...and we should...and if the arc of time is evidence, we shall.
    But it takes awareness.
    And it takes action.
    And it takes speaking out.
And it takes being willing to learn...and to teach.

I am probably rambling a bit at this point...but, I just want to say that I support the Yes All Women movement (if that is the correct word) and support any effort to see a safer more fair world for all women.

Now, this is all fresh in my mind because of an image I saw recently.
I thought of my mother. My sister. My wife. My nieces. My best friend. My co-workers. My neighbors. My clients. I thought of all the wonderful amazing women I know and just wanted to weep.

I am going to post it here.. It is not meant to offend or to trigger.

It was so jaw-droppingly direct...and sad...that I thought some of y'all might want to see it and/or share it with others.

IF IT IS AGAINST SITE RULES PLEASE REMOVE IT WITH MY APOLOGIES.

If I still used Tumblr I would definitely reblog that post.

I completely agree that people don't see the majority of those sorts of things as a big deal and when we mention them, a lot of people (and not just men), will say that we're 'overreacting' and being 'too sensitive'.

I used to work at a nightclub and for the most part while I was there I was working downstairs in the cloakroom by myself. All that's between me and whoever is checking in their coat is the bottom of a dutch door, and the cloakroom itself is situated around a corner from a small dancefloor which rarely has a lot of people on it. Every night I worked it I had a man hanging around that area and talking to me, trying to get my phone number. It made me quite nervous 'cause I was always alone down there and you can't see into the back of the cloakroom from the door, and that always worried me. A couple of them wouldn't leave until I gave them my number/agreed to go on a date with them, and on a few occasions I've been grabbed and kissed forcefully, at which point I've gotten the bouncers to throw them out. One of them waited outside for 3 hours until the end of my shift which was pretty scary. I got a friend of mine who's one of the bouncers to tell him to .... off, and he walked me to the bus stop.
I should have stood up for myself more when men wouldn't leave me alone, I never got anyone thrown out because of that, but as women we're taught that if he doesn't touch you, you have no right to be upset; after all, he's just "paying you a compliment". I'm ashamed of myself for not asserting myself more in these situations.

Also, almost every time I go out clubbing my bum is touched. I've never been able to find out who it is because most of the time it's really crowded and there's a steady stream of people trying to get from one place to another so it's hard to figure out. Every time it's made me SO ANGRY I want to punch something (preferably their face) and it's completely ruined my evening.

I wasn't aware of this campaign before because I don't use twitter, but I can imagine a lot of misogynistic responses to posts like ours, and it's ridiculous. It's 2014 for petes sake, these are things that should no longer exist - or at least be somewhat rare! It seems that pretty much every woman on here has a story of being assaulted or mistreated by a man.

I'm not quite old enough to have had experiences like this, but I'm getting close to that age and it's a little scary. I know I could most likely defend myself if physically assaulted - I have the knowledge and skills to do so - but it would most likely do emotional damage, and that I could not deal with.

I'm sick of seeing women objectified, scared to go out for fear of assault, being taught that "boys will be boys" and that you must try not to get raped, instead of teaching boys to not rape women, and that a short skirt or otherwise "revealing" clothing is "asking for it" and it's the girl's fault for being attractive. I'm sick of seeing guys complain about how a girl "friendzoned" him after he was nice to her or complimented her, and how they feel as if they're entitled to the girl for doing something so simple as holding the door for her or saying she had nice hair. I'm sick of the advertisements that depict how women are "supposed" to look, with hourglass figures, extremely long legs, flawless skin, long slender arms, a full bust and hips, and an overall over-sexualized pose. I'm sick of men treating women like they're simply fanciful things for them to play with and treat as they please, and not have a care if they break them.

I'm sick of this patriarchal society as a whole, and I feel it needs changing.

Since this has been trending in other places, I thought we might like to discuss the "Yes All Women" campaign that's started to bring awareness to what it's like to live as a woman in many societies. In danger of mixing my online personae (oh no!), I made a post on my Tumblr account outlining some of the experiences I've had as a woman in the U.S. (I don't think there's anything inappropriate there for younger eyes.)

After writing this post, I feel angry that I've gotten so used to this kind of treatment that I've had to edit the post three times to add significant events. I've gotten angry that I've been told "that's no big deal" (in words and actions) for every single incident listed (with the exception of my sister's wedding, where I had to hold back my big brother -- who's also my godfather -- when he found out what happened, and convince him it wasn't worth making a scene over it). In just about every single situation, I've removed myself quietly, trying not to make a scene, knowing that if I did make a scene, I would be told once again that it was "no big deal."

Women deserve better treatment. We need to learn that it's okay to say no vehemently and loudly. And we -- all human beings -- need to stop acting like this kind of behavior is okay. Because it's not. And we need to stop saying "no big deal." Because it is a big deal. And if my experience is at all typical, which I believe it is, I don't want the little girls I know to grow up dealing with these same things.
