I love kettle-cooked potato chips - everything tastes better fried in lard :P Utz's factory is about an hour or so away from where I live, so Grandma Utz's Handcooked Chips are one of my favorites. I also like Martin's.

Anybody have anything that they'd like to rant about? Pet-peeves, unfairness, the stupidity of some people, etc?

 

I had a particularly frustrating experience at the grocery store the other week that's been on my mind. I was next in line at the check-out, putting my groceries on the conveyor belt. There was a girl in her late teens/early twenties (around my age) in front of me, with plenty of makeup, platinum blonde hair, and new acrylic nails. A guy of about the same age was at the end of the lane bagging her groceries. The guy was friendly and flirty with the girl, and was taking great care in packing the bags. He said goodbye to her with a smile as she left.

 

Enter me. He doesn't look at me, and he doesn't say a word. He throws all of my groceries into the bags, crushing items, and he doesn't double-bag any of the heavy bags. He ignores my thank you as I'm leaving.

 

Now, being the person I am, I begin to wonder if he (1) decided that I was too unattractive to deserve being treated courteously (I've always had low self-esteem), or (2) noticed my wedding ring and thought there was no need to acknowledge me since I already have a husband. Whether either of these assumptions were accurate, I'll never know, but it does bring up the question of where customer service has gone. It's simply standard practice to treat everyone with at least the same level of courtesy, and it's unfair to base how well a customer is taken care of on looks or preconceived ideas.

 

Okay, I've had my say. Now everyone else can vent their frustrations :D

Well, his name was supposed to be for a female, so I may battle the Lab Ray Scientist and try to get his gender changed, but for now he's speckled (I really didn't like the pirate he came with). I may paint him baby or faerie later. Not sure really, just excited to have a Draik!

Thank you! It's actually a girl's name, but whatever :) It's a name that my husband and I both like for a little girl - kind of amazing considering I like unusual names.

I got my Draik! I'm so excited :D I found a Pirate Draik Egg in a Discovered Treasure Chest from the Forgotten Shore. I hatched the egg at the nest and...Viola!

My cat has chewed up my underwear too, but his creepiest habit is his obsession with my boobs.. They're kinda big (not HUGE, but bigger than average) and he will creep up beside me when I'm laying down then sort of nuzzle his face into the side of my cheese and start kneading the bed beside me then tries to bite my cheese.. Or he'll start licking my armpit if I have my arm up behind my head.. Such a weirdo.. And he drools when he does it too :P

 

Hmmm... Maybe he expects something from you, like food :)

Limitless - saw it on DVD last night, saw it once before in the theater. Ever since I watched Alias with my hubby, I've been interested in Bradley Cooper movies.

I think I'd be squished if Rusty stood on my face... Yoda isn't exactly light either.

 

Chinchillas are cute! I've never owned one, but I'd love to eventually. Not sure my husband would feel the same, though...

My husband and I have two male cats - Yoda, who's all black and just turned 1, and Rusty, a 5 year old orange Maine Coon (meaning he's huge and fluffy). Yoda seems to have an underwear fetish. Since we adopted him 10 months ago, he has chewed through at least 3 pairs of my underwear and several of my camis. Just the other day, I caught him sitting on the bed sniffing a pair of panties. He's even climbed up on my dresser and in my hamper to retrieve items sitting on top/inside.

 

My question is: Does anyone else have perverted pets/pets with odd behaviors?

I agree with rainshower about the trading post - TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT! And of course, everyone is annoyed by Key Quest quitters. I try to remind myself that I've "quit" on others when my computer has crashed and to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm not a big fan of some of the NC items, either. A few of them really do seem to give buyers an advantage.

Neopets is... oh, did we mention... A GAME! Ignore the knucklehead. Apparently, he/she has no life outside of neopets, a fact that I definitely wouldn't be proud of. Level 5 is great - and to reach it while in school is amazing! Congratulations, enjoy your prizes, and forget about the life-less player who's secretly wishing he had something more meaningful to toot his/her own horn about.

My husband and I took my brother and one of his friends to Hersheypark yesterday. We live about a half and hour away, and we go once every summer. This year, a new roller coaster, Sky Rush, has been all over the news. Naturally, my husband, brother, and brother's friend wanted to try it out. I did not (not a big roller coaster enthusiast - I hate the feeling of falling out of my seat on drops, and I had already made the mistake of going on a skull-rattling wooden coaster called Lightning Racer), so my account of the ride is from an outsider's point of view, but I do believe it is valid nonetheless. The roller coaster takes riders up a steep lifthill, and then drops them down at an over 90 degree angle until they are hurtling around at 75 mph. There are no inversions, just some twists and turns back to the ride station. The restraint system is... painful - this according to EVERYONE I heard talking about the ride (no joke). My brother's friend described it as sitting in a high-chair. My husband said it feels as if you are falling straight down with nothing holding you in but a bar across your thighs. Many people coming off of the ride had red marks on their legs, some already bruising. One poor teenage girl was in tears from having her legs crushed. My brother declared that he would never go on it again, unless the restraint system was changed. And I simply stared in wonder at the all people who were willing to risk leg amputation for a fleeting second of sheer terror.

 

For anyone going to Hersheypark to ride Sky Rush: You have been warned...

I have thought about getting a tattoo, but for one thing, I'm afraid of needles, and for another, I do believe that tattooing is a form of self-mutilation (not trying to sound harsh, couldn't think of another word), something that God prohibited in the Bible. As I believe that God created us, I feel that he has the right to dictate how we treat our bodies. That being said, I do not judge others for their tattoos. Plenty of my friends have tattoos from previous parts of their lives, some of which are beautiful. Mr. Parsons is entitled to his opinion, but to characterize people simply on the basis of their appearance is presumptuous and downright rude.

I've tried all of tdn's suggestions, and I still can't unlock the last level either. My farthest whack is about 420 meters. You definitely aren't alone - there are lots of other people who've found that Kass Basher really only bashes the players, not the Kass :D

Rank 5, with about 40 more YYB wins to go for my goal - rank 6. I've been bored out of my mind for the last week or so, but I pledged a 6, so I'm going to get there, even if it means gauging my eyeballs out lol :P

Thank you RigelB. I decided to downgrade Flash Player, and it's been working much better now.

Recently, Flash Player updated on my computer. Now, it crashes 5 - 10 times daily. Very irritating. Any suggestions?

 

P.S. I'm using Firefox, and Flash is version 11.3 r300.

Um, I noticed you said it was taking you forever to earn enough for a Draik.. You DO know that the Fountain Faerie doesn't change the SPECIES of your pet, right? Just the color..

 

Yes, I realized that after I posted. So I'll still be waiting for my draik, I'll just have the color ready for it :)

I just purchased a Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie with the neocash I received for signing up for the Altador Cup (yes, I know, cookies are terrible, but it's taking me forever to earn enough money for a draik!). I haven't opened it yet - saving it for after the Cup is over. Anyway, back to my question...if I complete a Fountain Faerie Quest, do I have to use the reward right away on my active pet or can I choose when and on which pet I use it?

I'm having some issues with the screen when I try to play Faerie Caves II. When I click the button to play, a new window appears, with the neopets site skin and only half or so of the game actually visible. No scroll bar appears, so I can't scroll to see the rest of the game screen. I've tried all the available screen sizes, and the same thing happens every time. Any ideas?
