  1. I like how this topic comes up from time to time because it always reveals that Neopets is actually a more adult game. I'm 23, I have a degree and I'm starting my career. I also love to make NP (no apologies!!).

I agree with icedragonair, some of the game is likely too complex for kids. When I was younger I played flash games to make NP, which I would then spend impulsively. Then I'd quit because starting over was hard. Now, I make money in bigger ways that require more patience (stocks!) and don't spend impulsively. So my style changed but the game stayed with me--and it seems like that's the case for a lot of us.

  2. AH! Your customization is SO adorable--the wings, the bow, the background, the everything. I agree that with your accessories the Christmas color is slightly cuter!

Does anyone else have a Christmas pet? I hope I'm not offending owners of Christmas yurbles everywhere when I say that my Christmas yurble is hideous. It's by far the ugliest thing the lab ray has ever done to my pet and I can't wait for it to change!

  3. Lamppost, that is a great explanation of how it happened. When Anchor Management started giving out the pieces, I predicted it would be like the secret laboratory: some pieces would be extremely rare, and a full set would be very expensive.

I would regret it much more if I had passed and the price had gone way up. We regret what we didn't buy the most, right? Also, someone else remembers the awesome time they made 700k off something that turned out to be nearly worthless. I'm happy for them!

  4. Gulsanga, I have the same regret! I think we all have that old account we'd love to get into. I don't know about you but my account is from before birthdays were a big validation thing, and I don't think I used my real one. I don't remember enough details to get it back.

I regret buying the secret shore map on about the FIRST day it came out. I paid 700k and I think it's worth what? 2k now? But I got the avatar in the first week, which I might not have otherwise. Everything happens for a reason I guess!

  5. Today I had a big food club win and saw in my bet history that my difference of bets/wins is now +400k. Awesome!

I seem to be on a roll. I knocked down another coconut this morning, though I didn't already have this one, so it went in my album.

I remain highly jelly. I do this every day and I am ready for a win!

  6. I am confused about whether I started on the right day: the first day you could do it was the 26th, right? The guide says the 25th, but is that wrong?

I hope I didn't miss a day... and I also hope there's an avatar at the end.

  7. I think we all feel like that about our early accounts, right? I know how bad I want the faerie dolls back from my first account. And all the books I bought for 1,000 NP and read to my first pet are CRAZY expensive now :sad01_anim:

I feel for you and the furwitch, but just think: something you have buried in your SDB now could be the furwitch of the future!

  8. However TNT wants to try and logic it, they're still buying you extra zaps, extra faerie quests, ect, which is by and large an advantage to those able to get them and something that TNT had adamantly stated they would not do in the past.

I agree. Neopets is a business and needs to make money, but NC strikes me as incredibly hypocritical after how strongly the company has opposed real money getting involved. They explicitly state that selling accounts or neopoints for real money is a freezeable offense. And "fairness" has always been critical: your wealth is supposed to be dependent exclusively on how hard you work, and fortune cookies especially throw that into question.

Furorpoxx, I'd be interested to know whether male players are really the majority in Neopets. I don't think of Neopets as "girly" by any means, but I always thought most players were female.

One more thing: where can you see how many players are online at any given moment?

  9. How do they decide which accounts have been inactive long enough? I think everyone has that old account they'd like to get back into and just can't. Especially since security added the birthday! I just made up a birthday when I first joined :shiftyeyes_anim:
