I will be travelling for the better part of a year and I don't think I will have much time for neopets after that. It is time to give my pets away to someone who will enjoy them more. Zoeyshader has been great for battledome rewards and has a lot of books under her belt. Zaplish just looks awesome.

EDIT: Sorry all, giving away things in my account looked too suspicious and I have been frozen. I have emailed the support but from what I have heard the process takes awhile.

  2. Hi, I have a giftbox that has been sitting in my safety deposit box for years and I am no longer buying NC wearables. First person to respond to this post, I'll send you something of mine. I also have 325 NC sitting in my account so if you want me to buy something available in the NC mall instead, I will. Happy Valentine's.

  3. I just utilize internet deals. I'm living overseas so I just used some sites to get my family's gifts. When it comes to store mania, I bet a lot of people just get caught up in the fevor, a sudden unspoken competition feeling with all those other people around. That's me trying to explain it, still not really sure. I've been to a lot of quiz nights, a strange desperate need to win against strangers in a simple game is familiar feeling.

  4. My boyfriend teases me, but it's harmless, he acknowledges that he plays an awful lot of video games and I'm just consistent with the game I play. I kind of wanted him to make an account so I could have a non quitting key quest partner but it was a no go. The only thing that ever upset me was when he teased me about it in front of one of his friends. I felt really embarrassed and asked him not to do it again. He apologized and hasn't since.

Oh but he does get a little concerned during the Altador Cup season :) I don't blame him.

  5. I'm a hoarder of neopoints, in about a year I should be able to afford some of my more expensive goals. Main goals are:

-The possible stamps to get with millions (Don't think I'll be a billionaire anytime soon so I'm not counting on getting quite a few)

    -Spruce up my Hissi

-250 level pet (176 so far)

-I have a weird urge to have my neopet read 1000 books exactly

    -Finally finish neoquest 1

-Get a few more Avatars, maybe a nice 300

-Deck out a Haunted House Neohome

-Own in the next plot (Was doing so well in faeries before I got distracted and I don't count the last one since it wasn't really a plot)

And the impossible one: Go beyond All Star in Altador cup so I can have more options with prizes (but I always end up choosing to have a life in June, well somewhat, since I do commit to All Star  ).

  6. Hi there. You would be the best ESL teacher if your Korean is even a little okay. I'm always having to use a dictionary for the low levels and wondering if the middle schoolers are talking about how much they hate me on essay day haha.

It's my second year here. I live in Suwon teaching middle school and elementary at a hagwon. I am lucky enough to have a large great group of friends both Western and Korean (including a Korean family that kind of adopted me and have me over for dinner sometimes). Some people feel a little isloted in Seoul I hear and don't enjoy the experience as much. There are some things that drive me a bit crazy but I find the best attitude to have is not constantly compare Korea to home and accept what is different. The food is SOOO good as well. My spicy tolerance has gone up due to my love of kimchi. Work life is so different from home, most people find you need to ask questions a lot as information sometimes gets lost being passed down (the foreignors hear it all last, if at all). Being sick is something you need to prove and a lot of places think working a lot is best. Also working in the hagwon (after school academy) can be rough as the kids are overworked and tired. Some love learning and many are forced to go. It's worth it though if you can develop a fun teaching style and get everyone interested. Younger kids are especially enthousiastic but you can bond with the older students about a lot.

My biggest advice, if you ever did consider coming. Do a crazy amount of research. There are thousands of jobs and they are not all good. Email a ton of recruiters and don't accept any jobs unless you have gotten enough info on the school (like asking for the email of a current teacher or googling the school). I'm very happy with my school and employers but my last school was difficult about my payment and we worked 9 hour days full of classes.

  7. I got allstar last year too and felt the disappointment over not getting the top prizes then, so this year I was prepared. I'm just happy to afford the stamp and some new books :) I don't regret not putting in the extra time, had a great month!

  8. I'm watching the first season of Orphan Black. So good, a bit clunky with it's humour sometimes but as a thriller tv show, it is excellent. Does a lot of things you wouldn't expect and they don't fall into the trap of having cliche problems that some shows do (People make really bad cover stories and the other characters DON'T fall for it). It's not dragged out with its mysteries either.

  9. Trying to get to rank 13 at the moment. Watching Orphan Black as I play. I have a trick for yooyoo bal to starve off boredom, I get 5 goals and just do other things on a side window til the time runs out, the other team usually doesn't catch up but I can see the screen in case. I sometimes leave it alone if I get a difficult ball too because the other team has trouble scoring.

I think we have a good shot today to do well.

  10. That really cool that you have skill to teach a language that is not your first! My Korean reading is okay but my speaking is so terrible. I feel bad since I have lived here over a year. I take lessons but even my teachers tell me I'm really bad haha

  11. So I'm a Canadian teaching English in South Korea and loving it. Interesting culture, great food and not too much of a culture shock when you're living in a big city. I also get to travel a lot around South East Asia. It makes playing neopets a bit interesting (When it's midnight NST, it's 4pm here, the FUTURE!). I think the scariest thing is this is just a step in my life and I don't really have a plan for after. I just started this topic to share my little current life story and hope to hear from others who might be in transition as well. It would be cool if there were other ESL teachers on here too.

  12. I discovered neopets when I was really young and it first came out. I remember the morbid little sky lodge mystery. I lost interest and didn't play again until university during the time I shoud have been studying for exams :rolleyes_anim: I'm 25 and my boyfriend definitely teases me about it, but affectionately. I played it way too much for awhile (some of you may remember my great neopoint give away on here). I usually only play now while I watch tv or during events.
