    Just to clarify...

It is 100% okay to state what petpet comes with your pet, if it's the actual petpet or if it is zapped.

Where it becomes against the rules is if someone offers a pet to trade and you said "well, my pet has a meepit attached and that is worth 1.3 million, so I think you're under offering"

But that's not happening here so carry on with your regular scheduled programing :D

There is a user named whenlife and they send people the item "lemon." They sent one our staff members the item and she sent him back lemonade.

There was like 100 lemons in this guys gallery and 1 lemonade in it (from our fabulous staff member)... so everyone else just sent the lemon back to whenlife hahaha

I thought it was brilliant and amazing.

One of my fav galleries. Now this user has a bunch of other lemon items in it - which other users sent him in return.

Yes! Aly's Angry Assortment is super fantastic. She's just got an awesome theme to her neopia life in general, all of her pets are great too and she's a super fun person. Definitely one of the best galleries I've seen.

The most interesting gallery I've seen is an Angry Gallery by someone in my guild full of neopoint and NC items. It won spotlight and it's extremely organised.. that's what I like to look at, being a fan of dark items/things myself. :)

Good morning, Neopia. This is Austin reporting from the newsroom today. Matt couldn't make it in this morning. He said something about explosives and the jail. I'm not sure what he meant, but I didn't want to stop him.

Yesterday we saw the second round of the eighth annual Altador Cup get underway. After the first bracket ended, we saw the two huge surprises of the Cup, Tyrannia and Altador, leading the way as they still have not lost a single game. Both teams, along with Darigan Citadel, won their bracket. Last year's winner, Kreludor, still looked to be in winning form as they garnered a modest second place finish. Roo Island, though looking better than ever, fell just short of first, following Altador in their bracket for a second place finish. Krawk Island also gathered a second place finish in their bracket, as they paced themselves right behind Tyrannia during much of the first round.

Now, let's get started on results from yesterday's matches. First let's move into the Alabriss Bracket, where we saw a pair of very close matches, one ending up in a giant upset.

The first game we saw yesterday was Tyrannia taking on Shenkuu. The Fossils continued their hot streak with another sweep over the Ninjas of Shenkuu. The prehistoric crew from Tyrannia continues to make history during this Cup, as they've now completed their sixth straight sweep. Tyrannia, even in a new bracket, shows no signs of cooling down. They're currently leading the Alabriss Bracket and look set to continue their dominance.

Krawk Island and Kreludor renewed their storied rivalry yesterday evening. The Pirates were able to eclipse the Moons in dramatic fashion. With under one minute to play and down by one, Krawk Island youngster, Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge, put two into the net to propel the Pirates to a six to five victory over last year's champs. Krawk Island is looking good for competing for a podium spot this year after finishing second in the first round.

The game of the night last night ended in a humongous upset, as the Robots of Virtupets toppled the Minions of Darigan Citadel. The Minions had been cruising so far in the Cup after winning their bracket in the first round. They looked poised to win their second round bracket as well, but Virtupets had different ideas. After taking an early four to one lead, the second Cup's champs seemed to put their play into "cruise control." Virtupets took advantage of that and tied the game up halfway through the second half. The Robots then proceeded to tack two more onto the board to take the lead six to four. The Minions put one more on the board, but it came far too late, as Virtupets were able to pull the upset, six to five. Darigan Citadel was able to remain strong, as they pulled the side sweep. We'll see how the Minions can rebound after a tough loss.

Now, we move onto the Minitheus Bracket, where the action was a bit less exciting, as there were three sweeps.

Altador continued their dominant form by sweeping the Chillers from Terror Mountain. The Chillers weren't able to come close to chilling Altador's hot streak, as the Suns had command of the whole game and ultimately won eight to four. Altador, through six games this year, has not scored less than seven points. Could this be the year Altador finally brings the Cup back home?

Maraqua gathered their first sweep of the year against Mystery Island. The Mermaids looked impressive after a first round of subpar play. Mystery Island continues their very disappointing showing in this year's Cup. Though both teams haven't looked particularly good, there is still plenty of time. We've seen great comebacks before, and Maraqua could be the late Cup dark horse this year.

Roo Island has stayed consistent all Cup and continued their consistency with a sweep of the Mummies of Lost Desert. The Rooligans snagged a nice victory over the Lost Desert by putting up 4 unanswered points to end the game. Roo Island could be one of the teams that we see chasing a podium spot near the end of the year. Their great play and experience could be the deciding factor on whether or not they win their second Cup.

The Vaeolus Bracket had no lack of excitement as it kicked off the second round. A big upset set the tone for the first day, as the Zombies took out the Knights. Meridell came into the second round disappointed after slipping to third, and Haunted Woods took advantage by taking three of the four games, including Yooyuball. There are questions on whether or not Meridell is a true championship contender this year after the loss, but most analysts agree that encountering upsets is not particularly unusual for championship teams, especially at the hands of capable mid-tier contenders like the Haunted Woods. As Meridell Team Captain "Wizard" Windelle put it, "As long as we don't make this a habit."

The Kikos seemed to be in the same situation as the Knights. After leading their bracket for the first few days, Kiko Lake fell to fourth. Moltara, much like Haunted Woods, took advantage of this and topped the Kikos. The Magmas were finally able to get their first Yooyuball win of the season by topping Kiko Lake five to four.

The Vaeolus bracket is shaping up to be a huge question mark and could have a huge impact on the outcome of the Cup. If the Zombies can retain their placing, the chemistry of the Cup could be changed completely. This is definitely the bracket to watch!

Now, let's move onto the games to watch today.

Tyrannia will try to continue their historical start against Darigan Citadel today. The Minions are looking to get back on track after their loss yesterday. This looks to be an epic matchup and the outcome could set the tone for both teams for the rest of the tournament.

Virtupets will try to gain even more momentum by taking on fellow space rival Kreludor, after upsetting front-runner Darigan Citadel, while Kreludor will attempt to regain their presence as contenders. This should be a fun match to watch and could greatly impact the standings.

Last but not least, Altador will try to keep their incredible start going by taking on Maraqua tonight. Maraqua has looked extremely impressive in side games this year, and could potentially give Altador their first loss of the season. This matchup should be very close. Keep your eye on Maraqua to pull an upset.

    And that concludes tod-

You guys have got to help me! They're keeping me hostage here! I need to get out! Help me!!

    Screen turns black

Get him! Don't let him run away!

You missed a match! YOU MISSED A MATCH! Brightvale versus Faerieland! The Wizards swept the Faeries! It was marginal on most counts! AHHH! NO! Help me! I need an adult! Someone just help. Please!

Now we've got you right where we want you!

    Ahhh! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel-

    Broadcast suddenly stops...

    [singing is heard]

And I need you now tonight and I need you more than ever
And if you only hold me tight We'll be holding on forever
And we'll only be making it right 'cause we'll never be wrong
Together we can take it to the end of the line
Your love is like a shadow on me all of the time [all of the time]
I don't know what to do and I'm always in the dark
We're living in a powder keg and giving off sparks
I really need you tonight, forever's gonna start tonight
    Forever's gonna start tonight

Once upon a time I was falling in love, but now I'm only falling apart
There's nothing I can do... a total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life, but now there's only love in the dark
    Nothing I can say... a total eclipse of the heart ;____;

I am not saying that people should be excluded from being a Harry Potter fan because they haven't read the books. Like I said before, I am enjoy the Warner Brothers franchise and what it has done to bring the story to life. It's great if people want to join a college quidditch team or make movie scarves and sell them on etsy. It brings the magic to life in whole new forms! But here is where we have a missed connection:

You are saying the exact same thing I am saying. The movies and the books are different. You do not get the time with the characters, the plot details, the intricacies, the underlying themes and subtleties that JKR intended for readers to have and experience. Movie watchers understand the movie plots, but the plots in the movies are not the same as the plots in the books. Therefore it's not an understanding of the original story.

It's also a story about deconstructing social norms, deep seated racism in a culture and the affect that spans over multiple generations, violent oppression and brutal war time, the extreme power of love -- none of which is properly conveyed in the movies. When you consume an off shoot of something without consuming the original format your thing becomes different from the original thing.

If your only experience with Neopets is playing "The Darkest Faerie" on PS2, you are going to have a different view of Neopets than someone who plays on the website daily. People who only watch Veggie Tales without reading the Bible are going to have some interesting things to say about the story of Noah (Like how does a cucumber pick things up without hands?!). So, when your only experience with Harry Potter is the movies you have the Hollywood version of things, with many degrees of separation from the the book story. Thus making it a different thing.

I am not supporting exclusion, in anyway. And frankly I don't get how you made that jump. I am extremely critical of the movies, yes. But I embrace inclusion in all forms and I am more than happy to squeal about being a Ravenclaw with a movie-only fan or go to the Harry Potter theme park with my mom who only experience Harry Potter through me. But my question then is if you have the basis of people enjoy the movies and the universe, why wouldn't you want to encourage people to read the books? Because they are a better experience than the movie alone, and having the in depth knowledge does make it that much more magical.

And that's where the conversation started. Converting movie-only people into full-fledged book reading, wand wielding, chocolate frog eating Potterheads. No one's talking exclusion of movie-only people. Criticism of the poorly planned movie franchise? Yes. Less love for those fans who weren't reading the books from day one? Never.

I am going to have to politely, but strongly, disagree. Watching only the movies makes you a fan of the movies. It is an entirely different experience to read (or listen to!) the books and watch the movies. The movies did not in fact keep the plot and themes of the book coherent in movie format. They cut major plot points and character developments, which makes the plot incoherent to people who have not read the books. This is something that people who have read the books cannot wrap their heads around, because we do know the bigger, detailed story of the books and we fill in the blanks that people who only watch the movies cannot.

In the movies the character of Harry is made into a brooding jerk. He is completely lacking the witty sarcasm and personality that makes him the lovable hero that the entire series revolves around. What is his motivation for refusing Draco's friendship? Why don't we see his deep, true love for the Weasley family, Sirius Black, and Hagrid? Do we get to see just how good he is at DADA, and just how pathetic he is at Potions until he finds the book previously owned by the Half Blood Prince? No. The story telling of who he is as a person is choppy so that bits and pieces of these aspects are present, but not enough that non-book readers completely understand.

Ginny is cut down to next to nothing in the movies, as well. In the books she is smart, strong-willed, determined, and a true match for Harry. She shows magical aptitude, fierce Gryffindor loyalty, and casts a mean bat-boogey hex. In the movies she's a simpering pretty girl, who barely says two words in any situation. I would venture to say that based on word count Ginny speaks less than Dobby in the movies. The most acting Bonnie Wright ever gets to do as Ginny is look like a wide-eyed doe in the presence of the great Harry Potter. And that's a darn shame because Ginny is an awesome character.

Dumbledore's complex character is so compressed in the movies he's almost unrecognizable. He is meant to be grandfatherly, wise beyond the ages, and one of the most powerful wizards in the world. In the movies his personality is lacking the quirks that make him lovable, leaving him to come off as almost distant and calculating. The full scope of his character being cut down also takes more casualties with him, such as Nicholas Flammel (there is minimal mention of him in the first movie, so much so that his part in the origin of the Sorcerer's Stone is not clear), the story of Dumbledore's brother and sister, and the important back story of Grindelwald. The omission of the last point changes the reason for the trio to go looking for horcruxes completely. Instead of going out with the knowledge of what they are looking for and why, the trio seemingly wanders around with no direction trying to find things they know nothing about.

And though it is true that minor characters do generally take cuts when books become movies, the cuts made to characters such as Remus Lupin, Narcissa Malfoy, and the basic non-existence of Mrs. Figg change the story line drastically. They all have background roles in the development of Harry's life, and without the full scope of what they do the story begins to have gaping holes.

But if that isn't enough, for the later movies the entire thing starts to become unrecognizable.

Take Order of the Phoenix for example. It was a joke. They failed to capture how truly evil and dangerous Umbridge was and instead decided to have quirky montages of Filch and Draco trying to get into the Room of Requirement. While the book was a serious, and almost dark affair, the movie decided to go in a whimsical direction that did a huge disservice to the story. Additionally they completely changed the events that lead up to Harry and his friends going to the Ministry, taking away the rock solid reasons that Harry was concerned and determined to save his godfather, and instead making him take a stupid risk for no reason. The importance of the members of Dumbledore's Army was downplayed as well, so instead of being determined young wizards and witches who were doing what they thought was right, they were dumb teenagers following their dumb friends into danger.

None of this means that I don't enjoy the movies. I find it thrilling to see Hogwarts and the magical world come to life. I think Maggie Smith is a perfect McGonagall, and you can bet that when the new HP section of Universal opens I will spill blood to be there on opening day. But I appreciate the movies for what they are, not what I want to pretend they are. And just like you wouldn't claim lions are the exact same thing as tigers, I don't think people who only watch the movies have the same understanding of the world of Harry Potter like people who have read the books.

This IS 100% considered scamming. It has been in the editorial many times. They tried to trick you, and it worked. You don't even need to recall their username if you do not have it. TNT will track them down through trading history if you report the instance.

There is absolutely no such thing as "TP sniping" in these scenarios. That's just what scammers try to claim to make themselves feel better.

The specific fact that they offered the exact number (570) without the few extra hundred thousand nps onto it, confirms it was them attempting to be malicious and "trick" her out of her requested bid, either by misreading the offer, or misclicking the request. That is, and will always be, against the rules.
