I know this works for Windows XP, not so sure about everyone else.

 

But click Start and the programs on that list above the 'All Programs' are your most frequently used.

 

My most used programs are:

 

1) Notepad

2) Photoshop

3) Windows Messenger

4) Windows Live Messenger

5) Corel WordPerfect 8

6) mIRC

I think it's illegal here in the states but no one abides by that. Limewire is one of the most popular P2Ps here.

This is actually pretty much true besides the fact that I use Mozilla the most, but that was automatically added up at the top where Internet Explorer used to be.
