I've been trying to use the checklist tool but it doesn't seem to be working. Is it my browser?

It's working just fine for me. Not sure what could cause it. If you have another browser try that one and see what it does?

It's working just fine for me, in both Chrome and Firefox. This appears to be a known Chrome error though, but I'm not sure why you're getting it, and I'm not. Do you have the latest version of Chrome? (You can check here; it should update automatically if you don't have the latest version - at least, that's what it did for me.)

If that doesn't help, this article mentions a way of bypassing the error. (Since I didn't get the error, I haven't been able to try this solution, so I'm not sure if it works.)
