Dahaka
Months ago I posted my old set for new ideas and I received a few good ideas. I decided to critique it based on those ideas and my thoughts. This is my new creation based on those suggestions. Yes, this is my actual set. Now, before I post it I will say you will notice two things "missing" which are common to high end sets: A freezer and Thyoras Tear. This is because of the abilities Warlocks Gaze/Lens Flare which have been successfully applied in place of a item freezer in 1 player (not to mention freezing in 2 player is too glitchy so I only do no freezing matches) and Thyoras Tear was successfully replaced by a combo of items if you look closely. I have no plans on using a freezer or Thyoras Tear again so I'd like that to not even factor into any advice. Also no chance of me using a SuAP ever again; I dislike them. Too many dupes and it dropped the value of my real one to the point it was depressing to look at. Other that note, feel free to rate. critique and offer suggestions; I look forward to any and all opinions. (My pet has max boosts, if that makes a difference) The Set: Aquamentis12 and midnight_spell360
Aquamentis12
Still looks like an awesome set to me. My eyes still drool to see an actual Skarls Sword. lol It's pretty gutsy to give up the freezers and Thyoras Tear. Your pet's HP must be really high to not have to worry about that.:) Although I agree that thanks to the faerie abilities of Lens Flare and Warlock's Rage, a freezer isn't all that necessary. Especially if your HP and Healer are enough to keep you from taking too much damage. And with a full healer like your Jeweled Scarab, that extra safety cushion of a Thyoras Tear wouldn't be as useful either. You've got several weapons I'm not very familiar with, and I really don't have time to go over everything right now, so I'll post again, or edit this post, when I have a good block of time to go over your set. It's still quite impressive though. :) Dahaka

You analysis last time helped me out a lot in deciding what to change and what to keep...with the exception of the sword :P (Also I've found out Skarls Sword works as an excellent counter in combination with Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie to Seasonal Attack Pea and Faerie Slingshot {Or if someone uses Dual Slingshots!}; I get the full earth + light block AND can still do 24+ icons of my own to my opponent. Something the HNMS wouldnt allow me to do) Also aqua whats your opinion on these items: Lord Darigans Blade Lord Kass Amulet Earth Scarab This post has been edited by a member of staff (.Brianna.) because of a violation of the forum rules. Aquamentis12
First off, sorry for the delay Dahaka. I've been very busy IRL and haven't been online much of anywhere lately. LOL I'm glad my last review was so helpful. ;) That's great that you discovered such a useful combo of the Skarls Sword with Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie! That's one of the things that can be quite fun, discovering new and amazing combos. Even if the equipment isn't as top-tier as what you've got. ;) There are still many useful combos to be made, especially with over 2500 pieces of equipment in existence. :) So let's start at the top of your list and work our way down. Skarls Sword Given your new combo, KEEP IT! I still couldn't afford one anyway. LOL I love the dual-duty it gives and it looks pretty awesome as well! :D Wand of the Dark Faerie A LITTLE redundant on the Light defense, but fine because you may want to pair it with another weapon to make a new combo. And the Light Defense in this case reflects instead of just blocking it. The healing ability is also nice in a pinch when your HP drops below 25%. Rod of Dark Nova, what an interesting weapon. Small attack, but blocks all Dark and Fire. Very useful in a 2p setup where your opponent has a Sword of Reif, or some other fire-based weapon! The 3 Dark novas it can generate aren't all that useful at your level. But your opponent might not expect it? Grapes of Wrath "Here's the grapes and here's the WRATH!" To quote a line from an episode of The Simpsons. ;) At 24 constant icons of Fire and Earth, your enemies will be hurting bad if they don't know this is in your arsenal. Greater Staff Of The Earth Faerie Great for Earth defense as you stated, boasts 2 air icons of defense and it has more attack icons than what I'd suggest as a cheaper method. I will say that a cheaper alternative would be the Shield Of Pion Troect, as it blocks all Earth, 2 Light Icons, and has 3 icons of Dark attack. Since you've got a lot Defense and the Staff gives you up to 6 total attack icons, you're good with the staff. ;) Jhudoras Wand is pretty awesome. Blocking all Air, it helps to devastate weapons like the Ghostkersword, Sword of Ari and the Pirate Captains Cutlass, to name a few. Reflecting Light damage back as Air, is also a nasty little surprise for your opponents, especially if they expect a Light reflection or blocking. Pretty crafty. ;) Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield is probably fairly common, maybe as common as the Ghostkershield is? I don't have one, and I don't usually 2p Battle so I'm only guessing based on what I've seen since it's release. But it's a good choice, whether you need it's full-light blocking or the other 20 icons (5 each of water, air, earth, physical) that it can block. Jewelled Scarab is a 100% Healer. 'nuff said on that. ;) I'd say your set is at 9.9 out of 10. Just due to the overwhelming Light defense. Your weapons compliment each other very nicely, but I didn't see a 100% block for Physical damage. There aren't many items like that, but Altadorian Swordbreaker and Winged Scarab are two items you might consider getting 1 of to swap in and out if you go up against someone who uses something with heavy Physical icons. As for the other equipment you asked about. Here are my thoughts. Lord Darigans Blade It's not bad. 8 Air, 8 Dark and 1.33-13 of Physical. With 5 icons of Light Defense. The offense would surprise your opponent(s), but it's another Light defense item, and you've got a lot of items that take care of that. That being said, if you combined it much like you would use Skarls Sword in combo with say the Grapes of Wrath to give yourself a powerful hit with SOME albeit small amount of Light defense, it could work. Lord Kass Amulet I like this one a bit more than Lord Darigans Blade. 23 offensive Icons, while it has 5 light icons of defense, it also has a 1-5 Physical defense, So from a Defensive standpoint, It's a little better. Just as Lord Darigans Blade, is a little better from an Offensive standpoint. Earth Scarab Admittedly, I haven't come across this item before. But checking TDN's Battlepedia, it's not a bad looking item. 6 earth offensive icons, and Full Earth Blocking. It's about equal to the Greater Staff Of The Earth Faerie, which you already have. The major differences are that it's 6 earth icons in Offense are constant and non partial. Defensively, both block all Earth, but the Greater Staff Of The Earth Faerie gives you 2 icons of Air defense. So it's really up to you which you'd prefer. Since you've got the Greater Staff Of The Earth Faerie, you'd probably want to just stick with that. I don't know where you'd come across any of these last 3 items you were curious about. But if you do find 'em and try to buy any of them, good luck! I hope I covered everything. If you've got any questions feel free to ask and I'll reply as soon as I can and of course to the best of my ability. Happy Battling! ^_^
Dahaka
Ok I see; yet another excellent analysis. I dont have any of the last three but I thought they were all good weapons so I just wanted your opinion on them. I know who has the blade and I've seen the scarab in someone's gallery but the amulet is a mystery, assuming it still even exists. I doubt any of them will ever be for sale but they'd be nice additions to any set. " There aren't many items like that, but Altadorian Swordbreaker and Winged Scarab are two items you might consider getting 1 of to swap in and out if you go up against someone who uses something with heavy Physical icons." I looked up that last part and there doesnt seem to be many weapons that do more than 8 physical icons consistently. Only like 5 came up and really the only viable one out of those was the Stone Foam Finger, which would be very easy for me to handle with Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield alone. Although I was thinking about buying a Dung Catapult to use for mass water defense if needed due to Kelpbeards Trident and the Sword of Tawre or when facing water heavy 1p opponents. "That's great that you discovered such a useful combo of the Skarls Sword with Greater Staff of the Earth Faerie!" Yeah here's a screenshot of a battle last night:
Aquamentis12
Thanks! I'm glad you liked the analysis! It was pretty fun to do. Even though it did take a while. lol Ah, ok. Just hypothetical. Well it's cool you know of or have seen 2 out of those 3 extra items. ;) But yeah, those that might exist still are probably not likely to go up for sale, unless the people with them quit or something. XD Ah, well you've got me there. LOL I don't know of very many heavy physical-attackers either, but I don't have the BP memorized. ;) Though you never know what TNT might release someday. ;) My top constant, the Stone Foam Finger has 10 physical icons. I figure there are some above and naturally below this number. Though "below" being the greater quantity. ;) Oooo nice screenshot! First time I've seen Skarls Sword at work. Thanks! :) It's not the strongest weapon, but it's easily one of my favorites, pretty close to the top. If I knew what the top was. LOL Happy battling! ^_^
