homshabomination
Soooo I took a hiatus from Neopets to focus on working and reintegrating myself into a semblance of a social life and completely passed up all the goodies and the Advent calendar. I haven't even signed onto Neopets yet and I almost don't want to in fear of the mighty regret that will awash me. Ever taken a hiatus and regretted too much to go back? KyokoHateshinai
Yep definitely happened to me before. I usually hope there's a new event around the corner to boost my morals up again...it's not always possible, but it is :) Depends how your social life is going :P

You regret the fact that there are avatars which are retired and you can never get again, etc. But, all you can do is get back into it and you will get the ones now, that others won't get because they are either taking a hiatus or not playing yet. And so the world of neopia goes round. I think what I really regret the most is, when I first started playing I was neo-naive and I had no idea really what neopets was all about. I had no idea how to get avatars or about events etc. So, even though I was here, and playing, I STILL missed out on a LOT of goodies. :sleeping_02: Now THAT really burns. But, you live and learn and move on. I made a LOT of nps playing games though in those days, so I didn't miss out on everything ;) Delshnya

How can you have less than 3.000 NP without a shopping fever?. I regret the avatars I won't have because they are retired, also all the plots I didn't participate. And I regret not remembering my old account name and password (although I think my account was closed or something, because I looked the name I think my account had, and there is no user with that name, so if it is not taken that had to be my account name), now I could be able to bet a lot in food club, every time I play, I think that. But it is what it is, as it says a Buddhist Proverb "Do not pursue the past, do not lose yourself in the future. The past no longer is, the future has not yet come. Look deeply at life as it is.". It is better to make the most of what you have.
Shelley
I've definitely faced some "ugh why" moments after coming back from hiatus. First off during my longest hiatus my account was purged along with all my pets (I really loved my disco kougra lol). That really stunk. But honestly I didn't mind rebuilding. Sure it was a pain, and I was upset that I had lost everything. But then again when I was 12 I wasn't exactly a pro at the game so I didn't have that many achievements anyway. But neopets is just a game. Sure you may have some regrets, but don't let that stop you from playing. As one of my teachers used to say in high school, "accept it and move on" lol also never regret abandoning neo to build up some real life "account achievements" :)
homshabomination
Ahhhh...the sweet sound of understanding. As the network was down last night I still haven't signed back on, but the fear has lifted hearing from you guys. Though I will still mourn those sweet, sweet avvies. frogadelic
I think anyone who has been away for a lengthy amount of time feels this way to a certain extent. I, too, had an account that was purged, and it was pretty awesome. Three painted pets (one of which was a UC Quiguki Quiggle) and lots of retired avatars and site themes. I regret that there are some things I can never get back, but I look forward to building my account up to better than before. If you derive enjoyment from that, then you shouldn't worry about or regret what you missed out on too much.
Psmucker3
I feel ya. Had a mutant Draik potion a long time ago and stopped playing for years. Now, I hardly play the game, I mostly just use the forums. Idk if I could ever go back because I know I would find my mutant Draik long gone.
