Nay for awful luck!

My poor poor car is having the worst week ever! Last week my starter died while I was at the grocery store. It took me nearly 4 hours to get a tow and cost over $600 to repair :ohno: Today I'm out just trying to mail my dad his Father's Day gift and a woman nailed it in the parking lot. I drive a Jeep and she had a little Taurus so she basically got stuck in/on my wheel well. I can't. It's driveable, but it definitely needs repaired. *sigh*

Well if it makes you feel any better I read "car" as "cat" at first and was like awwww your poor cat, and then i read about the starter dying and still thinking it was going to go into the story of the cat, till you started talking about getting a tow...

Sorry to hear about your car, do you have insurance? Did the woman? Since it was her fault she hit you.

A. Thank you for giving me a good laugh - I needed that.

B. Yes we both have insurance. I spoke with my rep and he's fairly certain it should be 100% covered so that's good news at least.

I too read that as cat and then continued reading and clued in lol.

Were you parked when you got hit? It always amazes me how people can hit a parked car. Except for new drivers who are just learning of course.

Then there's some people out there that just do not know how to drive. We have a mini-van now and my husband put the trailer hitch on it a while ago and refuses to take it off now, even if it means he has to turn the blind spot detection feature off. In the parking lot at our grocery store, some lady in an Avalanche got so close to the van our hitch was in her bumper. Couldn't even open the back hatch, she was that close!

I hope your luck and your cars' luck improve. :)

Yeah I was parked. I was walking back to my car and saw/heard the whole thing. Apparently I made a horrendous face because another guy rolled down his window and asked if me it was my car as it was happening. I have to say it was one of those moments where everything was playing in slow motion. It was the sweetest old woman who hit me. I considered not reporting it but then I thought about my own Pap (who should NOT be driving) and what the consequences would be if the same thing happened with him and it wasn't reported...so I made the call to my agency.
