Pet chain and transfer numbers

Sorry if this has already been made clear, but I was wondering, if you have more than 4 transfers available on your account are you allowed to apply for more than 4 chains? Thank you :)

According to the second pet lending rule (http://alp.thedailyneopets.com/?page=rules_pet), even if you have more than 4 transfers available, you can only participate in 4 chains per month. :)
