Guest ryantan5577
I'm looking for a good dual-duty that's reasonably priced, which means it should cost a maximum of 2 million or so. I can't decide between Hanso Charisma Charm and Rusty Pitchfork though - they are both about the same price and attack with 10 icons but defend different types. Which would you recommend, and why? Thanks.

Thanks. Rusty Pitchfork is way better, HCC is only good against Dark-heavy opponents or defending against Sword of Skardsen or other heavy 2P Dark weapon. Rusty Pitchfork boasts of a 11 icon attack (easily blockable in 2P though) with 5 physical icon defense (Physical is everywhere in the BD, both 1P and 2P, so most likely, Rusty Pitchfork is the one you should choose. Aquamentis12
I agree that Rusty Pitchfork would probably be the more generally useful of the two, unless you're fighting an opponent with a load of Darkness weapons. THEN Hanso Charisma Charm would win. Personally, I keep both a Leaf Shield AND Hanso Charisma Charm in my regular battle set. Leaf Shield doesn't block as much physical as Rusty Pitchfork, but 3 physical isn't bad, especially when up against an opponent that uses water and/or earth. Such as the Jelly Chia. Which sometimes also uses an evil snowball, which has a little darkness to it. Leaf Shield and Hanso Charisma Charm works wonders then, provided your defense is at least even with your strength boost. ;)
Guest ryantan5577
Thank you both! My strength is even with my defense boost, and I use a Wanderers Cloak (shield blocking everything except dark and physical). I guess I will get a Rusty Pitchfork then. I haven't used Leaf Shield before and I don't know if I should get that too...
Aquamentis12
Leaf Shield Isn't necessary, but I like it. Though I do switch out equipment now and then depending on the opponent I am challenging. ;) Here is the link to the Leaf Shield I'm talking about in the battlepedia.http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/weapon/viewweap/1088 That way you can give it a look over, read the staff reviews, and decide if you'd like to get one. You can either buy them from other players, or do Illusen's quests through Quest 29. Best of luck with your decisions and battling. :)
General Technology
I agree with the previous comments. Rusty Pitchfork offers a powerful attack of 11-icons while offering a defense that can be applicable in nearly every battle, due to the fact that most weapons carry a few physical icons. However, when you upgrade your shield and constants, Rusty Pitchfork might be one of the few you'll leave in the dark. Hanso Charisma Charm, although very picky in terms of what it defends (dark), it is pretty much a solid dual-duty. It can be used to plug 'dark-defending' holes in high-order shields such as Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield. So HCC is more of a long-time keeper. Rusty Pitchfork might be in the niche of what you need now, but you'll have to let it go once you upgrade your set.
