So, I have been playing on neopets for quite some time but I have never really participated in the Daily Dare.

 

I am all about trophies and avatars right now so I am wondering... for those of you who have participated in the past, how did you get your trophy and avatar. I am not very good at the games so I'm always challenging Abigail. What does it take to get an avatar and a trophy.

 

Also, do you think there will be an avatar this year?

 

Lots of questions... what are your thoughts?

The trophies are super easy to get- gold is awarded when you beat AAA (or rather, Chadley this year) every single day. Silver if you complete all the challenges, and beat Chadley at least once. Bronze if you only beat Abigail, and you get a participation medal if you don't complete all the challenges. There have been avatars for the DD before, but they weren't released last year, and to my knowledge, have never been rereleased. So we are probably out of luck, unless TNT decides they want to commemorate Chadley's face. ;)

You can see that is does change from year to year. Sometimes a better trophy is given for completing all the challenges on the day of release, other years it doesn't matter.

I've never participated in a DD before either so I'm basing what it takes to win a trophy from the page Rebecca posted. And I've never been that great at games either so I would suggest reading as many guides and tip topics on the Daily Dare neoboard you can find about each game beforehand, they've definitely helped me out a lot.

 

I'm not expecting there to be an avatar, but what Rebecca mentioned about commemorating Chadley is a really good point, I guess you never know there could be one. I feel like if that's what an avatar focuses on, you could have had to beat Chadley at every challenge to get it, or something like that...

That is why I am beating AAA for every game on day of release. Just to make sure not to miss anything. You never know what they (TNT) come up with and what "secret rules" there are to get it. I'm probably paranoid, but I just don't want to miss out on a new exclusive avatar.

Oh darn... I will probably just end up with bronze... I just don't do the games that much so I'm not that great at them.

 

Oh well, bronze is definitely better than nothing. I am just trying to get my trophy collection built up.

I'm not happy about this year's selection of games.

Some of them yes. Oh how I hated Qasalan Caper and Gadgadsgame. Some of them I've actually been pleased with, they've been games I've actually played before and had no problem beating, like Swarm, which a lot of people seemed to hate. Most of them I'm not complaining about because I know there could have been far worse picks from certain worlds!

Some of the games I didn't like (tedious/boring games) but I like a challenge by playing games I haven't played much and making me improve my high score.

I won't play them anymore until the next event if they come up, it's not that I like the game. I just like the challenge they give me. A score to beat and prove to myself that I can do it.

I have found the mix of games for DD interesting a real odd mix and not games I have played much before if ever.

 

I have learned though that if I cant get on with a game in the first few times I can sometimes suprise myself if I stick at it and actually achieve a reasonable score ... well for me anyway (I am not good at games) :sad01_anim:

 

Biggest surprise was yesterdays dare - Magax, couldnt even get 30 points at the start but I beat AAA later on and got my first game avatar ... todays dare has me back in my place though Im completely stuck and tearing my hair out despite reading the guides lol ahh well business as usual ^_^
