babird1
I am currently doing something known in the gaming world as "grinding". It means performing a repetitious, tedious task for what is hoped to be a worthwhile reward. This final tier is knocking my lights out. My poor pets have bandages, bruises, and are moaning with every limp. I'm sure there are many who are worse off than mine, being that I heard horrifying stories from the neohospital during the last wave. I am winning maybe 1:15 - 1:20 rounds. All the rest are losses. I'm seeing neopoints fly out of my pockets and into the pockets of the healing potion vendors. I wish them well. The bank manager laughs with glee every time I trudge morosely into the bank for another withdrawal. Him I think insidious thoughts about. My final thoughts as I zone out, mechanically going through the motions that seem to gain me the most wins, are about this year's Altador Cup. I hope this event serves as motivation both for me and for my neopets- during the Cup, perhaps we will think back and say, I survived a war, how hard can this be? karmacow, Viridian and Lydia Trebond
savamal
Awww *giving first aid toolkit* Maybe there won't be any Altador Cup this year because of the war. We will learn that all Yooyuball teams sent their members to fight and they are all injured...
WitchArachne
Aww I hope not. I look forward to the Altador Cup every year. I don't know if that's sad or not.But having this war has made me feel like I'm actually DOING something on Neopets for once, instead of just feeding the pets and playing games. It's nice having an overarching quest or game to work on over some time.
coltom
While my personal pet is incapable of winning at the current round, my daughter's kick ass battlepet will not be able to complete all of the tasks because Age restricted accounts can not neomail items. I got mine up to 125 str, but it has only been enough to get a couple of ties, and I'm fairly sure the Duchess is my best chance for a victory, HCC being a full dark blocker. P.S. So I finally got a win against General Flint, took three muffins, random freezer and swordbreaker. rMy bar is up between the "o" and "u" in Doing Your part. Aycis
Aw, poor Neopets. XD Those statistics are horrific LOL, but I hope the Altador Cup will be easier for you hehe. :P This war has worn me out too much, I've given up, so I wish you good luck :D ! Anxious Zombie
Yeah, I gave up in the last round. Couldn't win a fight and losing over and over again was driving me insane. I'm training a bit then going up for an all out lose fest. At least with the Altador cup I win every time. Can't wait, it'll be my first one after losing my beautiful 11 year account
Secre
Yep, I'm doing the same although my bank manager is looking at me in horror as I cane my account for codestones, faerie items AND healing potions!!
jcpet
I'm surviving in the war, but I definitely won't survive in the Altador Cup. I just can't score goals for life. I always just get the participant award D:
coltom
Actually my daughter's account has made several million np since this has started, she horded codestone, potions, weapons. She says thank you very much, and she'll put your money towards getting some new outfits. I thought she was crazy when she told me to get a 100 ultranovas. Anxious Zombie
Hehe, really smart girl. Once Trecci is all set I'm hoarding 'everything' to do with the BD in prep for when ever the next war is (might not be for a while, but I'm still young ^.^) I'm almost ready to get Trec back in the game. In fact I think she might just win once every 50 times :O
Koralis
I just bothered giving up fighting against the waves that I couldn't beat everytime so I wouldn't have to shell out countless np on healing. Meh, I won't get the max amount of rewards I could, but hopefully still battling lower waves will earn me something worthwhile.
babird1
Time for a status report:My purple progress bar is sitting tantalizingly just past half full. I had to stop battling for a few hours to attend to other things.I have had to promise my pets an extended holiday at the AstroVilla (you know, the posh hotel in downtown Neopia Central where they serve Filet of Beef and Triple Chocolate Shell every night in the grand dining room) just to get them to agree to continue this "miserable excuse for a war". The two who have not been battling have partnered up with their siblings behind my back and insist on the same treatment for having to put up with all the fuss. The potion vendors have started greeting me by name, and the last time I saw the bank manager, just at bank closing time, he was waving to me from a brand new car I have never seen him in before. I'm planning on finding out when and where he parks it unattended.Commander Flint rolls his eyes every time my poor Grarrl limps into the arena for his turn. I think he has gotten tired of the Purple Sticky Hand smacking him in the face when it misses. As for my Kau, I admire her determination- she is my weakest pet and is fully aware that I am sending her in with no hope of winning. She wears her superhero cape with pride and continues to hum her personal theme song as she pitifully battles for a mere five seconds before losing. Maybe I shouldn't let her have so much borovan? And so our bedraggled clan makes our way through the battling, to the dome for an earnest effort to steal Flint's Jade Scorchstone and take him by surprise, followed by a brief thrashing by the other opponents, and then back home again to heal up. No matter the outcome at the end of this war, our heads will be held high. karmacow and Lydia Trebond
coltom
I thought the sticky hands did not work for us during the war? I know they work for the other side, as during one battle my Yblaster went bye-bye. It did send me a nice postcard. (Postcards were these pretty pictures they used to send through the mail). voteforpedro333
Though two of my pets started off battling in the war (the other two could simply care less about it all) my shoyru decided early on that this battling thing wasn't for him. So that left my scorchio to pick up the brunt of it, and man did he get used to it quickly. He isn't greatly strong, to be sure, only showing his face once to each of the faction leaders. He figures that it would make the Duchess happier if he kept himself hidden from the other leaders, to prevent identities from being recorded and an after-war backlash against this secret society he calls his own, and instead keeping the weaker forces away from the serious battlers. Oh, how my other pets wished he had left this war very much alone...
crazy_cat_luv_bb
The last 2 or 3 waves I gave up already. Looking forward to the Altardor cup or something. Will be my first one though. Hope I will get some avvie from it :D
kris10ly
(Postcards were these pretty pictures they used to send through the mail).lolwut, people still send postcards all the time. I've gotten a couple already this year, and have sent a few as well.

coltom
We're not THAT far in the future my friend ^.^ I'd send in a ticket about that, it can't hurt I figured it out, if I refresh my browser after my purple sticky works, than I do have the item. That allowed LenaFrogLena to actually win against 4/5 foes. However, Professor Lambert is impossible to beat. Two many good weapons, a full water blocker and his abilities are strong. I thought I had him with 85 hp left, and he with less than 50, and it was worth it to try a thick smoke bomb. Nope, ck P.S. LOL that was too funny, the next fight after I wrote that, I used my purple sticky and Random Freezer at the same time, and snagged some Floato Gloves. It also took a jade elix and a Thick Smoke bomb, but FINALLY. All that for so fish pants.. Lydia Trebond
