Lady Lyuba Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 This has happened before but it managed to fix itself. Now however, this seems permanent as the top portion is missing no matter how many times I open it in a new browser or tab. It means no more pretty artwork where the ads used to be. Why does Chrome do this? I am always having problems with this site or my computer, it's like the 12 millionth time I have made a help topic here. Quote
Nimphal Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Have you tried changing the theme to something other than the original one? Like Faerie Ruins or something? Because I also use Chrome and am Premium, but I have the pretty artwork. However, I use the Altador Constellations theme. Quote
satelliting Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I think it may be because you are using adblock. When I use that, it does this for me. Quote
Rebecca~ Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Before I had Premium, I had the same thing happen to me with Adblock. I must say, I preferred it like that! Quote
Dragons Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 She isn't using adblock, there is an Aisha Vending Machine ad! (: Quote
Nimphal Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 She is using AdBlock, not to mention she is Premium, so there are no ads. The Vending Machine one is not an ad, it's a comic. I am also using AdBlock, however, and don't have that issue... ~Xandria 1 Quote
Lady Lyuba Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Actually, even with Adblock AND Premium, I still had the nice space at the top. I've had Premium since September. AdBlock is not doing this either as I have had Adblock installed....so long ago I cannot remember. Only now is the top half being cut off. This is an issue that seems to enjoy fixing itself...then breaking again. Quote
Emily Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Does it do it with all the themes, or just the purple one? I have premium and had adblock automatically running on every page that opened in Chrome, and it would sometimes do this with the Negg festival theme and the Halloween theme. I just set adblock to not run on Neo pages. Since you have premium, you won't see ads on the pages anyway, even if you turn adblock off for neopets.com domains. It seemed to fix the problem for me. I'm wondering if it may be a case of the script that stops ads in premium clashing with the adblock script. Quote
SidtheSnail Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 She isn't using adblock, there is an Aisha Vending Machine ad! (: That isn't an ad. TNT runs little comics in that space. every time you refresh its a different comic. Quote

Xepha Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Did you follow TDN's guide to block ads in first place? Quote

I'm wondering if it may be a case of the script that stops ads in premium clashing with the adblock script. It has happened with other themes before, such as Winter Holiday and Faerie's Ruin. Your diagnosis makes the most sense, and while it only does this every once in a while and then fixes itself, getting Adblock to just not run on Neopets should probably do the trick. Did you follow TDN's guide to block ads in first place? Yep, that's how I blocked ads in the first place. :) Quote
satelliting Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I was just suggesting this, as when I use it, it does this. Quote
